    Hubungan Panjang-Bobot dan Faktor Kondisi Ikan Julung-julung (Hemiramphus sp.) Teluk Tomini, Gorontalo

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan hubungan panjang dan bobot, serta faktor kondisi ikan julung-julung (Hemiramphus sp.). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret - April 2022. Sampel diambil dari hasil tangkapan nelayan yang didaratkan di Desa Bangga, Kecamatan Paguyaman Pantai, Kabupaten Boalemo, Gorontalo. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode Acak Sederhana, kemudian dilakukan pengukuran panjang dan penimbangan bobot ikan. Data dianalisis menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft Excel 2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan julung-julung memiliki pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatf pada bulan maret b=2.5 dan isometrik pada bulan April b=3 dengan kisaran faktor kondisi >1 (1,0053-1,6964) yang menunjukkan ikan julung-julung di perairan Teluk Tomini dalam keadaan baik.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan hubungan panjang dan bobot, serta faktor kondisi ikan julung-julung (Hemiramphus sp.).     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pendapatan nelayan pancing cumi di Desa Lamu Kecamatan Batudaa Pantai Kabupaten Gorontalo dan untuk mengetahui efisiensi pemasaran cumi di Desa LamuKecamatan Batudaa Pantai Kabupaten Gorontalo. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei hingga Juni2016 di Desa Lamu Kecamatan Batudaa Pantai Kabupaten Gorontalo. Jenis metode penelitian ini adalahmetode purposive sampling, yaitu pengambilan sampel berdasarkan pertimbangan atau peneliti menganggapyang diambil memiliki informasi dan berkaitan dengan tujuan penelitian. Data-data yang dikumpulkan darilokasi penelitian ini terdiri dari Data primer dan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa (1) Tingkatpendapatan nelayan pancing cumi di Desa Lamu diperoleh hasil sebesar Rp. 30.936.000, pendapatan minimalRp. 11.904.000, dan pendapatan maksimal sebesar 100.440.000.Sedangkan pengeluaran nelayan terdiri daribiaya tetap dan biaya variabel. Dimana pengeluaran biaya tetap sebesar 125.318.333 dan biaya variabelsebesar 337.650.000. Dengan demikian pendapatan yang berada di Desa Lamu tergolong dalam tingkatpendapatan yang tinggi. (2) Dari hasil analisis pemasaran yang ada di Desa Lamu, didapatkan bahwa nilaiefisiensi nelayan sampai ke konsumen adalah 62% yang artinya kegiatan pemasaran yang ada di Desa Lamu,sudahdikatakanefisien

    Technical and Financial Analysis of Squid Fishing

    This study aims to determine the technicality of catching and to analyze the finances of the squid fishing effort in Luwoo Village, Posigadan District, Bolaang Mongondow Selatan Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Sampling using survey and interview methods. Primary data obtained through direct observation and conducting interviews with respondents using a questionnaire. Technically, the fishing gear used by fishermen in Luwoo Village still uses relatively traditional technology by relying on knowledge from generation to generation. The use of the squid fishing gear is the result of a modification between the roller, fishing line, light-stick, swivel and squid fishing gear. The totabito or squid fishing line is extended 3-5 meters using a light-stick as an attractor to attract the squid. Financially, the squid fishing business has an average R/C value of 2.2 (> 1), a payback period of 0.8 years and an average net profit of Rp. 11,959,200 per year or about 121.77%. So, from a financial perspective, the squid fishing business in Luwoo Village can be said to be profitable. Keywords: Squid; squid fishing; technical; financial

    Development strategy for marine ecotourism area in Pohuwato District (a case study at Pohon Cinta Beach and Tanjung Maleo Beach)

    This research aims to know the marine ecotourism suitability, carry capacity of the area, and to formulate a strategy for managing ecotourism areas in Pohuwato District. This research is conducted at the Pohon Cinta beach and Tanjung Maleo beach. The data analysis is done by measuring the land suitability index, area carrying capacity, and SWOT Analysis. The result of the suitability analysis of beach tourism shows that the Pohon Cinta beach tourism area is suitable for beach recreational activities, boating, banana boating, and jet skiing as well as is suitable for swimming. Tanjung Maleo beach area is suitable for all activities, such as beach recreational activities, swimming, boating, banana boating, and jet skiing. Pohon Cinta beach tourism area can accommodate around 9.840 people/day, and Tanjung Maleo can accommodate around 2.640 people/day. Strategy for managing the tourism area of Pohuwato District, including promoting tourist attraction, formulating policies, determining coastal areas that need protection, coordinating each related party, inviting the community and visitor to take part in preserving the environment, improving the quality of torism area, improving coordination between the district government and the community, socialization of coaching and educational campaigns, increasing natural disaster mitigation efforts, the government monitoring, adding tourist facilities, and developing non-govermental activities

    Are Awaous ocellaris and Belobranchus belobranchus the two species of Nike fish schools ?

    Investigating goby fish is vital to perform an integrated and comprehensive study in order to maintain the roles of the fish, thus providing balanced ecosystem functions and services, as well as contributing to fish biodiversity. Local societies simply recognize fish species by their local names, which are not common. This condition, in turn, causes hitches in conducting further studies. Nike, the name of a local fish, refers to the schools of goby fish larvae whose adult phase has not been fully confirmed. This study aimed to reveal the species that categorizes as nike fish through tracing adult goby inhabiting freshwater. Two fish samples, i.e., Unknown 01 and Unknown 02, were taken from two sites in Bone River, Gorontalo, Indonesia. These samples were captured purposively using a hand net by considering the morphological similarity between the two target samples and the general characteristic of goby. Furthermore, the samples were analyzed genetically through the PCR sequencing method using the Mitochondrial Cytochrome Oxidase Subunit 1 (CO1) gene. Based on the NCBI database, Unknown 01 had the highest similarity to Belobranchus belobranchus (99.54%), while Unknown 02 was identical with Awaous ocellaris (100%). Unknown 01 and Unknown 02, compared to the BOLD database, the similarity level, had the highest percentage of similarity with B. belobranchus (99.85%) and A. ocellaris (100%), respectively. Therefore, A. ocellaris and B. belobranchus were strongly alleged as two species making up the goby schools in the adult stadia that reach freshwater during their migration

    Morphology and growth pattern of Nike fish (amphidromous goby larvae) in Gorontalo Waters, Indonesia

    Nike is a terminology used by Gorontalo local community to name schooling of minuscule amphidromous goby fish that has a limited appearance in Gorontalo waters. Understanding the biological performance of Nike fish is vital for implementing management and conservation strategy. This study aims to analyze daily recruitment and to determine growth patterns of Nike fish population in nature. Sampling was conducted in the Gorontalo waters during March, April, and May 2018 using a fish net with a mesh size of 0.5 inches. The duration of the appearance of Nike schooling in waters varies every month. The number of fish samples collected each month in this study ranged from 150 to 300 individuals. This study reveals that body color diversity and morphology of Nike fish strongly alleged to depend on where and how long they appear in the waters. Based on the daily recruitment pattern, Nike fish population distributed in Gorontalo waters is predicted to consist of individuals from multi-generation with an average length range of 1.848–2.805 cm.     Community Structure of Macrozoobenthos in Lake Limboto

    This study aims to determine the structure of the macrozoobenthic community in Limboto Lake, Gorontalo Province. Sampling was carried out at 5 stations and 3 repetitions using the Ekman Grab tool and prepared with a filter with a net size of 100 µm. Collecting data using purposive random sampling method and the influence of the macrozoobenthic community structure with physical and chemical parameters was analyzed using the CANOCO 4.5 application. The results showed that the macrozoobenthic community structure in Limboto Lake varied, with the diversity index at Station 1 and Station 2 being in the medium category, Station 3, Station 4 and Station 5 being classified as low, the uniformity index at Station 1 and Station 2 was evenly distributed, Station 3, Station 4 and Station 5 are uneven. The dominance index at Station 3, Station 4 and Station 5 shows that there are species that dominate. The highest total macrozoobenthic abundance was at Station 3, namely 427,643 individuals / m3 and the lowest was at Station 2, namely 2,038 individuals / m3. The results of the analysis showed that the substrate had the greatest influence on the macrozoobenthic community structure and was followed by other physical-chemical parameters.     Struktur Vegetasi Lamun di Perairan Pulau Saronde, Kecamatan Ponelo Kepulauan, Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur vegetasi lamun dan kondisi padang lamun di perairan Pulau Saronde, Kecamatan Ponelo Kepulauan, Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara. Kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan dari tanggal 10 November - 10 Desember 2012. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplanasi dengan menggunakan metode survei. Pengamatan dibuat pada tiga stasiun, meliputi lima petak transek dengan jarak antar transek 10 meter. Untuk memperoleh data pendukung dilakukan pengukuran parameter fisik perairan, seperti arus, kecerahan, kedalaman, suhu, salinitas, dan tipe substrat. Analisis vegetasi yang dilakukan meliputi komposisi jenis, frekuensi jenis, frekuensi relatif, kerapatan jenis, kerapatan relatif, penutupan jenis, penutupan relatif, dominansi jenis, dominansi relatif, indeks keanekaragaman jenis, dan Indeks Nilai Penting. Ditemukan lima jenis lamun, yakni jenis Cymodocea serrulata, Enhalus acoroides, Halophila minor, Halophila ovalis, Thalassia hemprichii. Stasiun I yang terletak di sebelah utara pulau memiliki nilai analisis vegetasi paling tinggi dari seluruh stasiun penelitian. Kata kunci: struktur vegetasi, padang lamun, Pulau Sarond

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran perempuan pesisir dalam menunjang aktivitas perikanan dan keterlibatan istri nelayan dalam membantu perekonomian keluarga di Desa Torosiaje Laut Kecamatan Popayato Kabupaten Pohuwato. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan dari bulan April - Mei 2014. Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian deskriptif, dengan menggunakan analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendidikan masih tergolong rendah sehingga mempengaruhi pola pikir khususnya dalam mengambil keputusan pengelolaan ekonomi keluarga. Kegiatan para istri nelayan di bidang perikanan yakni menjual hasil tangkapan dari suaminya, mengolah ikan asin, membuat dan memperbaiki pukat di waktu luang. Sedangkan kegiatan peran pesisir di luar bidang perikanan yakni membuka warung makan, menjadi pedagang sambilan, buruh cuci kain, pembuat kue, menjual kue, serta menjual kayu bakar. Faktor pendukung peningkatan peran perempuan adalah kemampuan kerjanya tinggi, dorongan keluarga cukup kuat, dan lokasi kegiatan merupakan obyek wisata potensial yang membutuhkan aktivitas perempuan dalam perdagangan.     Handline Fishing Efficiency in Kayubulan Village, Gorontalo Regency

    This study aims to determine the technical efficiency, allocative efficiency, and the economic efficiency of handline fishing gear in Kayubulan Village, Batudaa Pantai District, Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province. This research was conducted in October-November 2018. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) to measure technical efficiency and CBA (Cost Benefit Analysis) to measure allocative efficiency (price) and economic efficiency analysis is the result of technical efficiency and allocative efficiency (price). Analyzing technical efficiency using DEAP software version 2.1. The results of the study indicate that the technical efficiency (ET) that the average value of the technical efficiency value obtained is 0.788 or 1, so fishing business using handline fishing gear is allocatively efficient. The average economic efficiency obtained is 3,091 or >1, so the average fishing effort using handline fishing gear is economically efficient
