Calcul De L’indice De Qualité De L’eau (IQE) Pour L’évaluation De La Qualité Physico-Chimique Des Eaux Superficielles De L’Oued Moulouya (NE, Maroc)
The Water Quality Index (WQI) is a numerical expression used to assess the overall water quality from a large amount of data and to be easily understood by managers and decision-makers. In this study, the WQI with nine physicochemical parameters (pH, T °C, CE, O_diss, NH4, NO3, SO4, PO4 and BOD5) was used to evaluate the overall quality of the surface waters of the Moulouya River in the northeastern of Morocco during the period from March to August 2014. Twenty-two sites were studied from upstream of the wadi in the High Atlas to the mouth in the Mediterranean Sea about 600 km long. Upstream in the Upper Moulouya, water quality remains excellent with little seasonal variation except in the urban communes of Boumia and Zaida where the quality is respectively poor (WQI from 65 to 74) to non-potable (WQI from 388 to 584). In the Middle and Lower Moulouya, the quality of water decreases (WQI from 18 to 335) and varies between excellent, good, bad and not drinkable during the winter and the spring and between good, bad and not drinkable during the summer (WQI from 23 to 451). The deterioration of water quality in the communes of Boumia, Zaida, Missour and Gercif is due to agricultural activities and discharges of urban wastewater from these agglomerations located along the wadi. Seasonally, water quality has decreased from winter to summer, probably in relation to flow variations. As such, priority should be given to reducing these sources of pollution in order to protect water resources and improve water quality in the watershed

Etude De La Vulnerabilite Aux Risques D’inondations Dans La Ville De Meknes. Apport Des Sig, Du Mnt Et Des Modeles Empiriques
The present study aims to assess, identify and map the risk of flooding urban in the aim of protecting the city of Meknes (center of northern Morocco) from the flooding of the Oued Boufekrane which runs along the city from the south to the north. It is carried out using the tools modeling, of empirical formulae and functions integrated into the software dedicated to the systems of Geographic Information System (GIS) and by exploiting the climate data, hydrological, topographical, geological, etc. The slopes of the watershed of the Oued Boufekrane vary approximately between 1 and 19%. They allow determining the areas and neighborhoods vulnerable to the risk of flooding with slopes not exceeding the 6%. The vulnerability to the risk of flooding which requires a priority intervention affects mainly the neighborhoods located in the southwest of the agglomeration of Meknes and along the valley of the Oued Boufekrane
Apports Du Modele Numerique De Terrain Mnt A La Modelisation Du Relief Et Des Caracteristiques Physiques Du Bassin Versant Du Moyen Beht En Amont Du Barrage El Kansera (Sillon Sud Rifain, Maroc)
The watershed of the Beht River occupies the southwest part of the Sebou watershed with an area of 4,603.77 km2. It starts in the Causse of Middle Atlas, drains the northern edge of central Morocco and ends in the rifan south wrinkles at the level of dam El Kansera. The geographical information system (GIS) and ASTER images with a resolution of 30m have been of great use for creating thematic maps and automatic extraction of a multitude of parameters and physiographic indices of this watershed. These parameters, very characteristic, allow to assess the weight of the geomorphology on surface water flow and the influence of the latter by the risk of erosion and of flooding which have a very negative consequences on human and material plan, at the level of the studied watershed
Utilisation Des Indices De Qualité Et De Pollution Organique Dans L’évaluation De La Qualité PhysicoChimique Des Eaux Superficielles Des Oueds Moulouya et Ansegmir (Haute Moulouya, NE Du Maroc)
Surface water is subject to strong anthropogenic pressures caused by the development and extension of agricultural activities and also by industrial and domestic activities. Pollution is a serious problem for the environment due to discharges dumped into rivers and excessive use of agricultural fertilizers and discharges from urban and industrial sources. The objective of this study is to assess the quality and state of organic pollution in surface water in Upper Moulouya based on the water quality index (WQI) and the organic pollution index (IPO) during three sampling campaigns carried out between March and August of 2014. Ten stations were studied along the Moulouya and Ansegmir wadis up to the Hassan II dam. The results are visualized through the use of GIS through the production of thematic maps. They revealed that the majority of stations indicate excellent water quality and show no organic pollution with the exception of Boumia (M5) and Zaida (M6) stations which respectively have poor quality water and low pollution. at Boumia and non-drinking water with strong organic pollution at Zaida. This anthropogenic environmental degradation recorded downstream of the two urban communes would come from the use of nitrogen and phosphate agricultural fertilizers and above all from the discharge of untreated domestic and industrial wastewater from these two communes. The seasonal variation remains discreet and reflects a slight tendency towards degradation of the waters of the Upper Moulouya during the low waters of the summer period
Heure. An).
The purpose of this study is to estimate soil losses at the Mikkes watershed upstream of the Sidi Chahed dam in the Meknes region (Morocco), using the revised universal equation of losses in soil of (Walter H Wischmeier et Smith, 1978). The spatial empiric model was based on the integration of the five factors in the Geographical Information System (GIS), namely, the erosivity of rains "R", the erodibility of soils "K", the vegetation cover "C", topography "LS" and anti-erosion practices "P", the superposition of which allowed the development of a quantitative map of soil losses at the scale of the watershed. The catchment area of Oued Mikkes covers an area of 1444 km2; it is of elongated shape with an altitude ranging from 2090 meters to 184 meters from the South to the North, and a slope which varies from 0 to 189%. The rainfall survey of the eleven climatic stations located at the catchment level has shown the irregularity of precipitation in time and space. The erosivity factor R showed values ranging from 60 to 119, with an average of 85 Mj.mm/ha.h.a ". Erodibility factor K showed values from 0 to 0.6 and showed that poor soils and vertisols are the most vulnerable to erosion. The LS topography factor varies between 0 and 2562, the upstream of which is more rugged and more sensitive. The C factor differs according to the land use, from which the soils of the rangelands, the uncultivated and the cultivated soils are the most fragile. Water erosion affects all parts of the watershed, but with varying degrees depending on the factors of erosion. Land below the tolerance level of 7 t / ha / year represents only 11% of the catchment area, those with losses varying between 7 and 20 t / ha / year occupy 53%, the erosion factor in 24% of the area has values between 20 and 40 t / ha / year and those exceeding 40 t / ha / year affect about 12% of the territory
Machine Learning Models Based on Random Forest Feature Selection and Bayesian Optimization for Predicting Daily Global Solar Radiation
Prediction of daily global solar radiation  with simple and highly accurate models would be beneficial for solar energy conversion systems. In this paper, we proposed a hybrid machine learning methodology integrating two feature selection methods and a Bayesian optimization algorithm to predict H in the city of Fez, Morocco. First, we identified the most significant predictors using two Random Forest methods of feature importance: Mean Decrease in Impurity (MDI) and Mean Decrease in Accuracy (MDA). Then, based on the feature selection results, ten models were developed and compared: (1) five standalone machine learning (ML) models including Classification and Regression Trees (CART), Random Forests (RF), Bagged Trees Regression (BTR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), and Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP); and (2) the same models tuned by the Bayesian optimization (BO) algorithm: CART-BO, RF-BO, BTR-BO, SVR-BO, and MLP-BO. Both MDI and MDA techniques revealed that extraterrestrial solar radiation and sunshine duration fraction were the most influential features. The BO approach improved the predictive accuracy of MLP, CART, SVR, and BTR models and prevented the CART model from overfitting. The best improvements were obtained using the MLP model, where RMSE and MAE were reduced by 17.6% and 17.2%, respectively. Among the studied models, the SVR-BO algorithm provided the best trade-off between prediction accuracy (RMSE=0.4473kWh/m²/day, MAE=0.3381kWh/m²/day, and R²=0.9465), stability (with a 0.0033kWh/m²/day increase in RMSE), and computational cost
An Interpretable Machine Learning Model for Daily Global Solar Radiation Prediction
Machine learning (ML) models are commonly used in solar modeling due to their high predictive accuracy. However, the predictions of these models are difficult to explain and trust. This paper aims to demonstrate the utility of two interpretation techniques to explain and improve the predictions of ML models. We compared first the predictive performance of Light Gradient Boosting (LightGBM) with three benchmark models, including multilayer perceptron (MLP), multiple linear regression (MLR), and support-vector regression (SVR), for estimating the global solar radiation (H) in the city of Fez, Morocco. Then, the predictions of the most accurate model were explained by two model-agnostic explanation techniques: permutation feature importance (PFI) and Shapley additive explanations (SHAP). The results indicated that LightGBM (R2 = 0.9377, RMSE = 0.4827 kWh/m2, MAE = 0.3614 kWh/m2) provides similar predictive accuracy as SVR, and outperformed MLP and MLR in the testing stage. Both PFI and SHAP methods showed that extraterrestrial solar radiation (H0) and sunshine duration fraction (SF) are the two most important parameters that affect H estimation. Moreover, the SHAP method established how each feature influences the LightGBM estimations. The predictive accuracy of the LightGBM model was further improved slightly after re-examination of features, where the model combining H0, SF, and RH was better than the model with all features
