    Solar cell degradation under open circuit condition in out-doors-in desert region

    AbstractThe reliability of solar cells is an important parameter in the design of photovoltaic systems and particularly for cost estimation. Solar cell degradation is the result of various operating conditions; temperature is one of most important factors. Installed PV modules in desert regions are subjected to various temperature changes with significant gradient leading to accelerated degradation. In the present work, we demonstrate the influence of open-circuit condition on the degradation of PV modules. The experiment is carried out in the desert region of ADRAR (southern Algeria) using two modules IJISEL of single-crystal silicon. A continuous monitoring allows analysis of both performances of modules for duration of 330days. The module in open-circuit condition reaches higher temperature means than the module in charging condition; therefore, it undergoes a higher degradation. By simulation, we found that the life of a PV module (whose power output is close to 50%) in a condition of an open-circuit in the desert region could be reduced to 4years, and that has a significant impact on economy

    We report a case of face localization of demodecidosis wich presented as papulopustular lesion associated to ocular manifestations (chronic blepharitis, chelazian). Demodecidose is induced by Demodex folliculorum. This parasit can induced various clinical pictures as folliculitis; blepharitis, rosaciformes dermatosis. The diagnosis was made by the presence of the parasit on direct examination of skin prelevement. Cyclines seems to be an interesting alternative to acaricides in the treatment of demodecidosis.Notre patient présente une démodécidose du visage sous forme de lésions papulo-pustuleuses associées à une atteinte oculaire à type de blépharite chronique et de chalazion de l’oeil gauche. La démodécidose est due à Demodex folliculorum. Ce parasite peut être associé à différents tableaux cliniques dont les folliculites, les dermites rosacéiformes ou les blépharites. Le diagnostic est conformé par la présence de parasite à l’examen direct. L’emploi de cyclines semble être une alternative intéressante aux acaricides de contact dans la démodécidose

    International audienceIn this paper, we are presenting a theoretical study that was carried out in order to highlight the impact of a transverse magnetic field on the conduction mechanisms in an N-type semiconductor. In the calculations, we have made two different geometrical assumptions for the semiconductor under a weak magnetic field: firstly an unlimited configuration and secondly a limited configuration. The results of this study show on one hand, under a constant bias, the current variations through the N-type semiconductor are basically related to the impact of the magnetic field on the carriers movement within the semiconductor. On the other hand, considering the two geometrical assumptions mentioned above, the electrons scattering coefficient was found to be decreasing when applying a given magnetic field. Moreover, the law that quantifies such phenomenon was found to be quadratic. Due to the Hall effect, this variation is stronger in the case of a limited semiconductor, in comparison to the case of an unlimited semiconductor
