    Phenomenology of strangeness production at high energies

    The strange-quark occupation factor (γs\gamma_s) is determined from the statistical fit of the multiplicity ratio K+/π+\mathrm{K}^+/\pi^+ in a wide range of nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energies (sNN\sqrt{s_{NN}}). From this single-strange-quark-subsystem, γs(sNN)\gamma_s(\sqrt{s_{NN}}) was parametrized as a damped trigonometric functionality and successfully implemented to the hadron resonance gas model, at chemical semi-equilibrium. Various particle ratios including K/π\mathrm{K}^-/\pi^-, Λ/π\mathrm{\Lambda}/\pi^-, and Λˉ/π\mathrm{\bar{\Lambda}}/\pi^- are well reproduced. The phenomenology of γs(sNN)\gamma_s(\sqrt{s_{NN}}) suggests that, the hadrons (γs\gamma_s raises) at sNN7 \sqrt{s_{NN}} \simeq 7~GeV seems to undergo a phase transition to a mixed phase (γs\gamma_s declines), which is then derived into partons (γs\gamma_s remains unchanged with increasing sNN\sqrt{s_{NN}}), at sNN20 \sqrt{s_{NN}} \simeq 20~GeV.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, accepted for publication in EP

    Academic Satisfaction and Its Relationship to Internal Locus of Control among Students of Najran University

    University students' satisfaction with their institution has individual, institutional and social implications. Several theories have been proposed in an effort to better understand the psychosocial dynamics of student satisfaction. The main objectives of this study are to examine the correlation between Internal Locus of Control and students' Academic Satisfaction with faculty staff, the college administration, and textbooks; and to evaluate differences between males and females on academic satisfaction scale. The study sample consists of (120) University students in Najran, KSA, from different majors and colleges, (69) males and (51) females. Academic Satisfaction Scale (ASS) and Internal Locus of Control Scale (ICS) have been developed by the author. There are significant positive correlations between satisfaction with faculty staff, satisfaction with the college administration and internal locus of control. The results found no significant correlation between satisfaction with textbooks and internal locus of control. The results also indicated significant differences between males and females on Academic Satisfaction Scale.     Tourist’s preference in selection of a restaurant: testing mediating role of service quality

    The aim of this research is to examine in what extent tourists’ preferences, and their satisfaction relates to their purchase intention from a restaurant. The study also considers the mediating role of service quality among the relationships. In order to test the hypothesized model, this study used a sample of 180 tourists’ who were visited in Malaysia. The instruments were developed through the measures adapted from previous scholarly works. In addition, structural equation modeling was applied to test the proposed model. The results show that the relationships among the variables are all significant except one. Moreover, the mediating effect of service quality in between tourists’ preference and purchase intention is partial. On the other hand, the role of service quality as mediator in between the relationship between tourists’ satisfaction and their purchase intention from a restaurant was full rather partial. This study offers valuable insights for restaurant managers to aware of and to deliver consistent and attractive services to their customers by considering their preference and satisfaction through appropriate service quality components. This research contributes to the literature on tourism marketing by examining their preferences and satisfaction in choosing a restaurant. Above all, this research also used service quality as a mediating variable in between the relationship among tourist’s preferences, satisfaction towards their intention to purchase from a restaurant which is scared in the tourism marketing literature under the Malaysian tourism industry context

    Contrastive Analysis of Concord in Arabic, English, and Indonesian

    Recognizing the differences in concord among languages will be very important to avoid mistakes in using these languages because concord errors are the most common errors in language use. This article was a contrastive study of concord in Arabic, English, and Indonesian, and the implication of teaching the languages. Through contrastive analysis, the grammatical concord system of the languages was compared to determine the similarities, differences, and teaching implications. Library research was used through a qualitative method. The data was taken mainly from Arabic, English, and Indonesian grammar books. The results showed that the concord in Arabic and English was grammatical, while in Indonesian, it was notional. The element of concord in Arabic was more complex, comprising phrases and clauses, and consisting of five features: person, number, gender, definiteness, and case markers. Meanwhile, the English concord occured on the clause domain of person and number, differing from that of Indonesian which was based on meaning. This study provided an incentive to foreign language tutors, especially,  Arabic and English tutors, to develop strategies in helping students master concord and avoid grammatical errors

    Surround-Screen Mobile based Projection: Design and Implementation of Mobile Cave Virtual Reality

    Virtual Reality (VR) is the employment of computer devices to simulate real or imaginary environments. Conventional user interfaces stresses the usage of screen displays to interact with the developed environment. The prospect of VR enables the user to be virtually inside the environment. CAVE is one kind of room-shaped VR technology that displays the environment on its walls. We observe some common limitations in the existing CAVE technology, such as fixed space requirements and the difficulty in moving it. In the current work, we present a novel mobile-CAVE system that uses light-weighted materials and portable powered devices. It solves the limitation of re-using the allocated space by packing it and the ability to move it easily. We have assessed our technology by performing usability analysis, power consumption, and mobility experimental study. The profound experiments demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed technology in comparison with former CAVE system. OAPAScopu

    The Effect of a Reading Instructional Program on Tenth Grade Students\u27 Critical Writing skills in Jordan أثر برنامج تعليمي قائم على القراءة في مهارات الكتابة الناقدة لدى طلبة الصف العاشر في الأردن

    Abstract: The present study aims at investigating the effect of a reading instructional program on Jordanian EFL students\u27 critical writing. The participants of the study were divided randomly into four groups from one of Irbid private schools (2020-2019): The groups were, two experimental groups: one for male students of (16) students and one for female students of (16) students. These groups were taught according to the training program in critical reading. There were also two control groups; one for male students of (18) students and one for female students of (18) students. The students in the control group were taught according to the methods of the teacher’s book in English language curriculum for tenth-grade students. To determine the effective level of the instructional program, a pre-posttest was used. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the students\u27 mean scores on the critical writing post-test in favor of the two experimental groups which used the reading instructional program. In light of these results, the researchers recommend that the EFL curriculum designers should include critical writing strategies in the textbooks and to train EFL teachers on how to use them in their classrooms. ملخص: هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن أثر برنامج في القراءة في تنمية مهارات الكتابة الناقدة لدى طلبة الصف العاشر في الأردن تكونت عينة الدراسة من أربع شعب من مدرسة من مدارس التربية والتعليم الخاصة في قصبة اربد للعام الدراسي 2019-2020. ثم تعيين شعبتين صفيتين تجريبيتين واحدة للإناث وتكونت من (16) طالبة وشعبة تجريبية للذكور تكونت من (16) طالب بالطريقة العشوائية ثم تدريسهم بالاستراتيجيات المستخدمة في البرنامج. وشعبتين صفيتين, واحده للإناث تكونت من (18) طالبة وشعبة للذكور تكونت من (18) طالب ثم تدريسهم بالطريقة التقليدية. كشفت نتائج الدراسة عن وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لصالح المجموعتين التجريبيتين. في ضوء نتائج الدراسة, أوصى الباحثان مصممي الخطة الدراسية بضرورة إدخال استراتيجيات الكتابة الناقدة في مناهج الكتب المدرسية, كذلك أوصيا تدريب المعلمين على كيفية تدريس هذه الاستراتيجيات في الغرف الصفية
