ENHANCING PERFORMANCE OF ITERATIVE HEURISTICS FOR VLSI NETLIST PARTITIONING
ABSTRACT In this paper we, present a new heuristic called PowerFM which is a modification of the well-known Fidducia Mattheyeses algorithm for VLSI netlist partitioning. PowerFM considers the minimization of power consumption due to the nets cut. The advantages of using PowerFM as an initial solution generator for other iterative algorithms, in panicular Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Tabu Search (TS), for multiobjective optimization is investigated. A series of experiments are conducted on ISCAS-85/89 benchmark circuits to evaluate the efficiency of the PawerFM algorithm. Results suggest that this heuristic would provide a good starting solution for multiobjective optimization using iterative algorithms
Cuckoo Search Algorithm Based Feature Selection in Image Retrieval System
Efficiency an d retrieval time are very important issues in any content-based image retrieval system. In this study, an efficient image retrieval system was introduced depending on several features extracted from the database images, namely color moment (Mean, Standard Deviation), GLCM, and DWT( only LL-sub band). To increase the retrieval speed, Cuckoo search algorithm was used to select the important positions that contain full power features from the (LL-sub band). On using the Cuckoo search algorithm, only (50) important positions were chosen out of the total (24576) positions within (LL- sub band). These positions were stored for later use when entering a query image. Thus, the time taken to retrieve images was greatly reduced and this process also increased the efficiency of the system due to the fact that the selected positions gave the lowest distance measures between the query images and the similar images when evaluated using Manhattan distance measure. Two effectual performance measures (precision & recall) were used to calculate the accuracy of the system. The findings proved the system efficiency when compared to other previous works. Urbanization and Condition of Urban Slums in India
The present paper attempted to study the urbanization in India and condition of urban slums in terms of water, sanitation, electricity, garbage collection and health care, and education which are supposed to be basic minimum needs for the slum dwellers. India is going through the process of rapid urbanization because of industrialization like other third world countries. The percent of urbanization increase from 27.8 percent in 2001 to 31.1 percent in 2011 census. The increase in the percentage of population in urban areas is because of natural growth, rural to urban migration and the reclassification of village and towns. The share of the slum population in the total urban population of the country was 18.3 percent in 2001 while in 2011 it was 17.4 percent. The condition of urban slums in India is to be improved so as to make them better for living
A Review of Content Based Image Mining System
CBIRIn recent years, with the spread of the internet, there is a large amount of data available at it. Therefore, it becomes necessary to find fast search engines to retrieve images and documents. Image retrieval is a very significant area in digital image processing. To understand and learn more about "image retrieval system", the current study presents a review to describe the types of image retrieval techniques, explain the advantages and disadvantages of them. Moreover, this paper reviews different research studies and methodologies that applied to the area of CBIR
A Literature Review of Cuckoo Search Algorithm
Optimization techniques play key role in real world problems. In many situations where decisions are taken based on random search they are used. But choosing optimal Optimization algorithm is a major challenge to the user. This paper presents a review on Cuckoo Search Algorithm which can replace many traditionally used techniques. Cuckoo search uses Levi flight strategy based on Egg laying Radius in deriving the solution specific to problem. CS optimization algorithm increases the efficiency, accuracy, and convergence rate. Different categories of the cuckoo search and several applications of the cuckoo search are reviewed. Chaturvinshati Upkrama and its role in management of poisoning
Agadtantra is the branch of Astanga Ayurved having system of knowledge for conquering poisons. Acharya Charaka has explained twenty-four modalities of treatment which are to be employed while treating poison. Chaturvinshati Upkramas are unique in the management of poisons. It can be seen that most of them are based on same principle of modern medicine. Chaturvinshati Upkramas is common for all types of Visha i.e., Sthaavara, Jangama, Gara, Dooshi Visha etc. In most of the cases Upakramas should be selected by the physician on the basis of the type of Visha Prakruti (constitution), Saatmya (compatibility), Ritu (season), Desha (place), Vega (impulse) and Balaabala (strength and weakness of both the patient and poison)

The concept of trust in the Islamic banking transactions
The element of trust is embedded in Islamic banking transactions given the impermissibility of collateralizing the business risk in Islamic contracts (muḍārabah and mushārakah). In addition,
the existence of information symmetry underlying the financial-decision precludes the trustor from observing the trustworthiness of the trustee. Therefore, it is crucial for the trustee to observe the
fiduciary duty towards the trustor and the use of his fiduciary power. However, given the multistructural nature of trust, there is still disagreement in the literature on the concept. Motivated by the above, this qualitative study aimed at constructing a model of trust in Islamic banking transactions. In view of the social constructivism ontology, the components of trust were acquired by scrutinizing the concept in the literature as well as conducting semi-structured interviews with selected Islamic finance scholars and bankers. Additionally, the classical and contemporary Fiqh writing were the materials for interpretative content analysis. The socially constructed views indicated that trust is the fiduciary relationship emerging from and accommodated by the contractual agreement upon which the Islamic banking transactions are founded. Under this relationship, the performance of the transacting parties is expected to be trustworthy. Trustworthiness (Al-amanah) is the faith- produced quality underpinning the fulfilment of the fiduciary obligation emerging from the contractual agreement. Moreover, the persistence of shari’ah rulings and institutional regulations give rise to the belief and expectancy regarding trustworthiness. Additionally, the principle of reliance (tawakkul) after making the due diligence
enables the enactment of the trustor’s judgement in terms of behavioural trust. Overall, this study offers a new theoretical model of trust which considers the framework of the Islamic qualities and
principles. This will contribute and enhance the trustworthy conducts of the transacting parties and curb their misconducts such as injustice dealings, greed, exploitation, negligence and
transgression
