Figures de l'excentricité dans la littérature française du XIXe siècle (le cas des Illuminés de Gérard de Nerval)

    Get PDF
The eccentricity generally understood both in the literal sense (a term borrowed from astronomy and geometry) and in the symbolic meaning (the eccentricity as aesthetic category), is a key concept that energizes and defines the Gerard de Nerval's act of writing, his mind and soul, not only in Les Illuminés, but also in his entire work. Basically, it is constitutive of the act of literary creation of Nerval, and it determinates and activates the author's mind, his actions and behaviors, reasons and madness, doubts and certainties, creeds and aspirations. The eccentricity as metaphor in Nerval 's writing catalyses themes, profound ideas and movements, given that the metaphor is not simply rhetorical, but the engine of the generation and meaning regeneration. Therefore, our contribution is the proposal of a new dimension of eccentricity research, namelv the analvsis of this concept as a tool for studv. The goal is not, of course, to nrovide a comprehensive approach to the eccentricity, respectively, the eccentric, and that because these notions overcomes the linguistic field. Instead of conceptualizing terms, we focus instead on the operating mechanism of these notions, referring simultaneously to the notion of center and outside the center. The notions of eccentricity, respectively of eccentric cannot be conceived in an absolute way, as objects made once and for all, which is why the analysis oftheir meanings require to open a wider field of research that cannot abandon the ideological content, historical, philosophical, religious and literary of the nineteenth century, in which these concepts are born and grow rich.ST ETIENNE-Bib. électronique (422189901) / SudocSudocFranceF

Innate Immune Response as a New Challenge in Periodontal Inflammation

    Get PDF
Gingivitis and periodontitis are induced by numerous pathogenic microbiota hosted in the subgingival biofilm that first trigger the innate immune response. Innate immune response is part of a homeostatic system which is the first line defence and defines the host inherited resistance to infection. Both genetic and environmental factors are involved in variable individual susceptibility to inflammation of periodontal tissues. That is why, although more than 600 bacterial species have been detected in the periodontal plaque, the type of bacteria incriminated in the development of the inflammation is still unclear. Moreover, in the last decade gene polymorphisms have been largely recognised as important conditions associated with increased susceptibility to periodontal diseases. Manipulating the immune response by the development of drugs that inhibit adverse host reactions and promote beneficial effects might be of therapeutic or prophylactic importance. This work intends to assess the importance of Toll-like receptors as main effectors of the innate immune response in the triggering, maintenance and progression of periodontal inflammation, as well as of the involvement of synthetic molecules targeting TLR signalling pathways in treating periodontal diseases

    Get PDF
This paper presents a mathematical modeling for a series of experiments in which humic acid (AH) and calcium chloride (CaCl2) were used, in order to visualize the amount of contaminant before and after the nanofiltration (NF) process, using Excitation Emission Matrix Spectroscopy (EEMS). It allows to a better understanding of membrane fouling. The membrane used for these experiments was a NF ceramic membrane made of titanium dioxide (TiO2). For the experimental determinations, a constant amount of 10 mg/L HA and different amounts of CaCl2, respectively 1, 2, 3 and 4 mmol/L were used, considering the working methodology presented in this article. The presence of the amount of contaminant in water was determined using the EEMS method using the FP-8300 Spectrophotometer, after which a spectral analysis was performed. TableCurve 3D software was used to make the mathematical models in order to ensure that the equations obtained had the same shape. The values of the correlation coefficients, corresponding to the generated equations, have values ranging from 0.91 to 0.93. In order to verify the mathematical models thus obtained, graphs of the difference between the surface obtained with the help of the mathematical models and the surface obtained by means of real data were drawn. In conclusion, it turns out that, the largest difference was obtained in the case of samples taken from the feed, with a maximum difference of 31 fluorescence intensity arbitrary units (a.u.), and for the samples taken from the permeate the deference is 14 fluorescence intensity a.u

Vaccination against Human Papilloma Virus continues to remain a highly complex public health issue, as there are many countries or regions that show increasing reluctance. Romania is among the countries that do not provide HPV vaccine in the national vaccination scheme, but offers the opportunity to young girls between 11 and 18 years of age to benefit from free vaccination. It is the responsibility of health professionals in all health sectors to inform themselves correctly, but also to instruct patients in a prophylactic approach against infection with both HPV and other types of microorganisms. Accurate information and a thorough knowledge of the prophylactic means are achieved from the years of study. Our study focuses on the following aspects: the degree of vaccination among dental students, the willingness of students to get vaccinated if they have not done it so far, the degree of information about Human Papilloma Virus infection, including ways of transmission and methods of diagnosing the infection, the perception of students on how this topic has been promoted, the sources of information they access in order to obtain information about Human Papilloma Virus.</p

Study regarding the influence of material type on economic objectives in MEx fabrication

    Get PDF
Material Extrusion has been used extensively as an additive manufacturing technology for a variety of applications like visual models, functional prototypes, tooling components, patterns for castings, and final parts. The current research paper proposes a study on the material type influence on economic objectives in material extrusion fabrication of complex assemblies. Three economic objectives have been analysed, namely, estimated fabrication time, material usage and material cost, whilst two commercial additive manufacturing machines have been considered for the simulation. Cura and ZSuite slicing software were used for the generation of Gcode and project files. Five filaments were selected from the same manufacturer and all components of the selected assembly were included in the analysis. Throughout the study, the additive manufacturing parameters were kept constant, as well as the component layout on the build platform of the two machines. Study results were analysed in correspondence with the manufacturing requirements and the optimum fabrication scenario was selected. Further research includes the analysis of multiple material manufacturers, in order to evaluate the influence of chemical composition on economic outputs

Diagnostic methods and therapeutic options in dog skin allergies – a short review

    Get PDF
Allergy is an exaggerated reaction of the body, which occurs after the contact with various substances that the immune system considers foreign and acts against them. Like humans, dogs can be allergic to various substances which, when inhaled or absorbed through the skin, airways or gastrointestinal tract, stimulate the immune system by releasing histamine that induces inflammation, erythema, edema and itching. It is considered that all the cases of allergies, whether low, moderate or severe, are genetic in nature. Dogs that become allergic to drugs, vaccines, food, dust, pollen, fleas, various household substances, etc., are "genetically programmed" to have an immune system capable of producing an allergic reaction. The allergic reaction is not due to medication, biological products, food or the environment, but it is considered to be a genetic trait inherited from parents. Because there are different types of allergies and many conditions that can cause skin problems in dogs, the symptoms they present differ from one allergy to another, from one patient to another, requiring both diagnosis and treatment to be made differential for each type of allergy and for each individual. The symptoms of allergic reactions can be diagnosed through allergic tests (intradermal or blood tests), the individual removal of allergens from the dog's living environment (in case of parasitic allergy), or by reagent therapy. Fighting allergies involves the use of antihistamines, antiinflammatory corticosteroids, topical antipruritic substances, leukotrienes inhibitors, as well as various plant extracts with antiallergic effect

    Get PDF
Conclusions. La tension différentielle est associée aux complications cardiovasculaires positives, en particulier chez les personnes âgées et surtout aux valeurs supérieure ou égale à 60 mmHg, mais cette association n’est pas indépendante de la tension artérielle

Combination of antibiotics with natural products is a promising strategy for potentiating antibiotic activity and overcoming antibiotic resistance. The purpose of the present study was to investigate whether morusin and kuwanon G, prenylated phenolics in Morus species, have the ability to enhance antibiotic activity and reverse antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Commonly used antibiotics (oxacillin, erythromycin, gentamicin, ciprofloxacin, tetracycline, clindamycin) were selected for the combination studies. Checkerboard and time-kill assays were used to investigate potential bacteriostatic and bactericidal synergistic interactions, respectively between morusin or kuwanon G and antibiotics. According to both fractional inhibitory concentration index and response surface models, twenty combinations (14 morusin-antibiotic combinations, six kuwanon G-antibiotic combinations) displaying bacteriostatic synergy were identified, with 4–512-fold reduction in the minimum inhibitory concentration values of antibiotics in combination. Both morusin and kuwanon G reversed oxacillin resistance of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. In addition, morusin reversed tetracycline resistance of Staphylococcus epidermidis. At half of the minimum inhibitory concentrations, combinations of morusin with oxacillin or gentamicin showed bactericidal synergy against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Fluorescence and differential interference contrast microscopy and scanning electron microscopy showed an increase in the membrane permeability and massive leakage of cellular content in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus exposed to morusin or kuwanon G. Overall, our findings strongly indicate that both prenylated compounds are good candidates for the development of novel antibacterial combination therapies
