    Autostem para a inclusão: adaptação de um guião pedagógico para crianças cegas ou com baixa visão

    In order to promote educational inclusion in the activities of the Erasmus+ Project Automata for STEM nr 2018-1-PT01-KA201-047499, it was developed the adaptation for blind or visual impaired children of the pedagogical guide of one of the autómata of that project. The adaptation process aimed, on the one hand, to promote mental representation of the automaton and its parts, but also the construction of it by the children. It is a bird, made of paper and cardboard, whose movement is the beating of the wings, through sliding motion. Taking into account the importance that auditory information and the tactile experience assume in blindness and viusal impaired people, throughout the adaptation process, additional resources were developed, namely embossed sheets for a tactile exploration of the geometric shapes of the toy, and also several descriptions and instructions that the teacher or educator can follow in order to promote, for instance, mental representations of the geometric concepts by the children.Con el fin de promover la inclusión educativa en las actividades del Proyecto Erasmus + Autómatas para STEM nr 2018-1-PT01-KA201-047499, se desarrolló la adaptación para niños ciegos o con discapacidad visual de la guía pedagógica de uno de los autómatas de dicho proyecto. . El proceso de adaptación tuvo como objetivo, por un lado, promover la representación mental del autómata y sus partes, pero también la construcción del mismo por parte de los niños. Es un pájaro, hecho de papel y cartón, cuyo movimiento es el batir de las alas, mediante un movimiento deslizante. Teniendo en cuenta la importancia que adquieren la información auditiva y la experiencia táctil en las personas con ceguera y discapacidad visual, a lo largo del proceso de adaptación se desarrollaron recursos adicionales, a saber, láminas en relieve para una exploración táctil de las formas geométricas del juguete, así como varias descripciones y descripciones. instrucciones que el maestro o educador puede seguir para promover, por ejemplo, las representaciones mentales de los conceptos geométricos por parte de los niños.No sentido de promover a inclusão educativa nas atividades do projeto Erasmus + Automata for STEM nr 2018-1-PT01-KA201-047499, desenvolveu-se a adaptação para crianças cegas ou com baixa visão do guião pedagógico de um dos autómatos do projeto, visando, por um lado, promover a representação mental do protótipo e das partes que o constituem e, por outro, a construção do mesmo pelas crianças.     Guided play: From instruction to creativity when constructing automata

    Play is a very important activity for children development and there are evidences that it can be an added value when used for educational purposes. Research about how to integrate play in education points to the importance of teacher role, namely how children play can be scaffold and guided. However, there is also lack of agreement about how to guide children playing and the impact of the guidance in the activity development and competences promoted. Given the characteristics of automata, especially the fact that they include a narrative and a mechanism, they can be used within a play based pedagogy, to implement activities related to plan and construct toys and to promote competences as observation, problem solving, creativity in the STEM areas. To explore this potential of moving toys to promote STEM in the early years of schooling is the aim of the Erasmus + AutoSTEM project. This work aims to describe the main objectives and resources of the AutoSTEM project, including the description of a workshop to construct a toy with a sliding mechanism, the Jelly Bird. The procedures involved the presentation and observation of the toy, detailed instructions on how to construct it, the decoration and the elaboration of a narrative about it. 23 children from the 2nd year of basic education participated in the workshop. The analysis of the prototypes shows that all the participants built them properly. Also some alternative ideas to the proposal initially presented emerged, as well as a diversity of narratives. These data suggest that the instructions enhanced the construction of the prototype, but did not inhibit the creativity of the work developed.publishedVersio

    Na presente investigação procura-se testar o valor preditivo das variáveis autoconceito, hábitos de estudo e procrastinação na explicação do rendimento escolar, junto de alunos portugueses que frequentam o 2º ciclo do ensino básico, concluindo-se que, de acordo com as medidas adotadas, estes três preditores explicam 70% da variabilidade dos resultados escolares, sendo os hábitos de estudo o preditor mais relevante.
