A Training Program to Improve IFSP/IEP Goals and Objectives Through the Routines-Based Interview
WOS:000329323800001 (Nº de Acesso Web of Science)The authors describe a training program designed to improve the knowledge and skills of early childhood interventionists. Within the context of using the Routines-Based Early Intervention approach, this training focused on improving the quality of goals and objectives on individualized plans, through the Routines-Based Interview. We structured the training around five face-to-face sessions and a follow-up 3 months later. Here, we describe the development of the program, its content and methods, and the results on improvement of the goals and objectives with 80 professionals. These participants had completed the training, provided pretraining data, and provided posttraining data. Results showed that the training described here had the desired very large effect: Quality ratings of goals and objectives increased by over three standard deviations
Kondo effect in transport through molecules adsorbed on metal surfaces: from Fano dips to Kondo peaks
The Kondo effect observed in recent STM experiments on transport through CoPc
and TBrPP-Co molecules adsorbed on Au(111) and Cu(111) surfaces, respectively,
is discussed within the framework of a simple model (Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 97},
076806 (2006)). It is shown that, in the Kondo regime and by varying the
adequate model parameters, it is possible to produce a crossover from a
conductance Kondo peak (CoPc) to a conductance Fano dip (TBrPP-Co). In the case
of TBrPP-Co/Cu(111) we show that the model reproduces the changes in the shape
of the Fano dip, the raising of the Kondo temperature and shifting to higher
energies of the dip minimum when the number of nearest neighbors molecules is
lowered. These features are in line with experimental observations indicating
that our simple model contains the essential physics underlying the transport
properties of such complex molecules.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, submitted to PR
Tres nuevas especies del género Geocharis Ehlers, 1883 de Portugal (Coleoptera, Carabidae)
Three endogean carabid species (Coleoptera: Carabidae, Anillini) from Portugal, Geocharis fermini n. sp., Geocharis bivari n. sp. and Geocharis quartaui n. sp. are described. The work provides diagnostic characters of these species, and in particular, the structure of male genitalia. Affinities with closely related species are discussed and ecological data are also included. Faunistic notes on Geocharis olisipensis (Schatzmayr, 1937) and a key for the identification of the species occurring in Portugal north of the Tajo River are also given.Se describen tres nuevas especies de carábidos Anillini endogeos (Coleoptera: Carabidae) de Portugal: Geocharis fermini n. sp., Geocharis bivari n. sp. y Geocharis quartaui n. sp. Thrombotic events and COVID-19 vaccines
COVID-19 vaccines are considered promising agents in the control of the pandemic. Although their safety was assessed in randomised clinical trials, severe adverse events (AEs) have been reported after large-scale administration. This study aims to evaluate thromboembolic AEs reported after vaccination in a real-world context and how they led to the interruption of vaccination campaigns. We also review the benefits and risks of the vaccines approved in the European Union and provide recommendations. A review of the literature was performed using Medline/PubMed electronic database as well as institutional and pharmacovigilance official reports. Our findings show that vaccine-induced prothrombotic immune thrombocytopenia has been suggested as a very rare AE associated with viral vector vaccines. Unusual thrombotic events combined with moderate-to-severe thrombocytopenia were reported mainly in women under 60 years of age. As safety signals emerged, Vaxzevria and Janssen´s COVID-19 vaccine campaigns have been paused while investigations proceed. On the other hand, the number of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism reports have not increased. Post-marketing surveillance indicated that mRNA vaccines are safe and should continue to be used. The thrombotic events report rate is not increased in people over 60 years. As they are at greater risk for COVID-19 complications and death, no vaccine restrictions are recommended in this group. Risk factors for vaccine-induced prothrombotic immune thrombocytopenia should be established so that evidence-based decisions can be made. Systematic monitoring of COVID-19 vaccine safety is essential to ensure that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks. All authors had full access to the complete data in the study and accepted the responsibility to submit it for publication. Measuring professionals’ perceptions about collaborative consultation in early childhood intervention
We investigated the reliability and construct validity of the Professionals’ Perceptions about Collaborative Consultation in Early Childhood Intervention Scale (ProPerCECIS), a rating scale developed to measure collaborative consultation in early childhood intervention (ECI). ProPerCECIS was completed by 427 professionals
from 78 ECI teams. The full sample was randomised into sample A, 170 participants, for conducting an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) – and sample B, 257 participants, for performing confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Multiple-group analysis, with the overall sample, was conducted. The EFA final solution comprised three correlated factors, with acceptable to very good internal consistency: Intervention, Context, and Planning. The CFA supported the three-factor structure. Results supported configural invariance and partial metric invariance, but partial scalar invariance did not hold. Results supported the conceptual framework of collaborative consultation in ECI and suggest that ProPerCECIS can be a useful measure of professionals’ perceptions about collaborative consultation practices in ECI. ProPerCECIS seems to be particularly suited to assess collaborative practices within services
providing routines-based family-centred interventions. Importantly, because the factor structure for ProPerCECIS holds up for different professional groups, it might be used by transdisciplinary ECI teams.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
Spectral Analysis and the Dynamic Response of Complex Networks
The eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the connectivity matrix of complex
networks contain information about its topology and its collective behavior. In
particular, the spectral density of this matrix reveals
important network characteristics: random networks follow Wigner's semicircular
law whereas scale-free networks exhibit a triangular distribution. In this
paper we show that the spectral density of hierarchical networks follow a very
different pattern, which can be used as a fingerprint of modularity. Of
particular importance is the value , related to the homeostatic
response of the network: it is maximum for random and scale free networks but
very small for hierarchical modular networks. It is also large for an actual
biological protein-protein interaction network, demonstrating that the current
leading model for such networks is not adequate.Comment: 4 pages 14 figure
Coherent State Path Integrals in the Weyl Representation
We construct a representation of the coherent state path integral using the
Weyl symbol of the Hamiltonian operator. This representation is very different
from the usual path integral forms suggested by Klauder and Skagerstan in
\cite{Klau85}, which involve the normal or the antinormal ordering of the
Hamiltonian. These different representations, although equivalent quantum
mechanically, lead to different semiclassical limits. We show that the
semiclassical limit of the coherent state propagator in Weyl representation is
involves classical trajectories that are independent on the coherent states
width. This propagator is also free from the phase corrections found in
\cite{Bar01} for the two Klauder forms and provides an explicit connection
between the Wigner and the Husimi representations of the evolution operator.Comment: 23 page
Geometric combinatorial algebras: cyclohedron and simplex
In this paper we report on results of our investigation into the algebraic
structure supported by the combinatorial geometry of the cyclohedron. Our new
graded algebra structures lie between two well known Hopf algebras: the
Malvenuto-Reutenauer algebra of permutations and the Loday-Ronco algebra of
binary trees. Connecting algebra maps arise from a new generalization of the
Tonks projection from the permutohedron to the associahedron, which we discover
via the viewpoint of the graph associahedra of Carr and Devadoss. At the same
time that viewpoint allows exciting geometrical insights into the
multiplicative structure of the algebras involved. Extending the Tonks
projection also reveals a new graded algebra structure on the simplices.
Finally this latter is extended to a new graded Hopf algebra (one-sided) with
basis all the faces of the simplices.Comment: 23 figures, new expanded section about Hopf algebra of simplices,
