Design of adaptive structures by kinematic synthesis of mechanisms

However, in order to design adaptive systems, basic knowledge on kinematic synthesis is needed. This paper introduces the fundamental principles of the kinematic synthesis of mechanisms and expresses the potential structural uses of common mechanisms. For this purpose, main concepts of the mechanisms are introduced and types of kinematic synthesis are explored by the help of innovative examples. In this context, firstly, type synthesis methods are explained. Second step covers the path generation rules, and the final step includes the design of multi-loop and chain mechanisms. During the explanation of the aforementioned principles, innovative adaptive structures which are designed by the authors are introduced as well. These structures are all derived from common planar and spatial mechanisms such as four-bar linkages, Watt mechanisms, scissor systems, Bennett linkages and different multi-loop mechanisms

Percepción de los enfermeros del servicio de urgencia y emergencia acerca de la acreditación hospitalaria.

El presente estudio parte de un análisis crítico reflexivo sobre la Acreditación Hospitalaria en el servicio de urgencia y emergencia del Hospital Universitario de Santa Maria, RS. Tiene como objetivo resaltar la importancia de la participación de enfermería en la implantación de los sistemas de calidad en los escenarios de salud y sus implicaciones en la práctica de enfermería hospitalaria. El análisis crítico está fundado en el referencial de Acreditación Hospitalaria y en la implantación de un proceso crítico reflexivo con 08 enfermeros del servicio. Por medio del diálogo, de reflexiones sobre lo cotidiano del trabajo, la problematización de la realidad, de situaciones individuales y colectivas vividas, el grupo delimitó la revisión y la adopción de acciones en consonancia con la Acreditación Hospitalaria. Ese proceso de Acreditación Hospitalaria propone la participación voluntaria de instituciones que trabajan con salud, estimulándolas a la búsqueda de la mejora de la calidad de la asistencia prestada

Big data mining or turning data mining into predictive analytics from large-scale 3vs data: The future challenge for knowledge discovery

Mining Big Data is among one of the most attracting research contexts of recent years. Essentially, mining Big Data puts emphasis on how classical Data Mining algorithms can be extended in order to deal with novel features of Big Data, such as volume, variety and velocity. This novel challenge opens the door to a widespread number of challenging research problems that will generate both academic and industrial spin-offs in future years. Following this main trend, in this paper we provide a brief discussion on most relevant open problems and future directions on the fundamental issue of mining Big Data
