In this paper, a smart tool for the diagnosis of Parkinsonian syndromes is designed and developed using low-cost Texas Instruments eZ430-Chronos wireless watches. With this smart tool, Parkinson Bradykinesia is detected based on the cycle of a human gait, with the watch worn on the foot, and Parkinson Tremor shaking is detected and differed by frequency 0 to 8 Hz on the arm in real-time with a developed statistical diagnosis chart. It can be used in small clinics as well as home environment due to its low-cost and easy-use property

The Impact of Personality, Religiosity and Interpersonal Orientation on Ideological Contracts

    Get PDF
This study investigated the Big Five personality traits, religiosity and interpersonal orientation to see how they affect ideological contract formation. This research also included students’ expectations and preferences for future employers/organizations as they relate to ideological contracts. Personality factors, religiosity and interpersonal orientation did not display convincing evidence that they affect ideological contract formation. However, this study did find that junior and senior students are already anticipating forming ideological contracts with their future employers/organizations. The students already have strong convictions about what causes they believe in and will form their ideological contracts based on these causes. This is valuable knowledge for managers and human resources as these students are the employees of tomorrow

Pressure jump interface law for the Stokes-Darcy coupling: Confirmation by direct numerical simulations

It is generally accepted that the effective velocity of a viscous flow over a porous bed satisfies the Beavers-Joseph slip law. To the contrary, interface law for the effective stress has been a subject of controversy. Recently, a pressure jump interface law has been rigorously derived by Marciniak-Czochra and Mikeli\'c. In this paper, we provide a confirmation of the analytical result using direct numerical simulation of the flow at the microscopic level.Comment: 25 pages, preprin
