Modern educational paradigm based on the principles of learners’ initiative, focus on competences, computer-aided instruction requires designing of appropriate educational technologies that promote accomplishment of up-to-date top priority objectives of foreign language education. In the framework of this study, the authors examine and describe an interactive educational technology that aims at engagement of learners in the process of their professional activity integrated with the context of foreign language communication in the newly emerged forms by appropriate means of interaction. The paper focuses on specific features of the interactive technology that define content, approaches, methods and principles of teaching. The problem of determining the aspects of learning and teaching activities is discussed. The teachinglearning algorithm developed on the basis of the interactive technology is proposed. The algorithm involves application of several interaction-based methods, namely the project-based learning, tandem method, event-based learning, cooperative learning, and includes 12 steps. The major specificity of the teaching model manifests itself in the new-type nature of the teaching-learning process which takes place in the project-based research coworking. The results of the approbation have demonstrated that the interactive educational technology is characterized by a number of features, such as integrality, eventfulness, productivity, contextuality, contributing to the actualization of the subject position of Master students and their active verbal interaction. The results of experimental teaching have proved the effectiveness of the interactive educational technology in developing new types of communicative skills in Master students aimed at their ability to perform the function of confident interlocutors in academic communication

Liquid Nonlinear Oscillations in the U-Tube System

    Get PDF
Dynamics of oscillation processes in a siphon U-tube is studied for the system of connected vessels filled with homogeneous liquid. The equations and phase paths describing the motion of viscous and non-viscous liquids are given, oscillation frequencies are considered. Oscillations are nonlinear in general case, but they turn into linear by setting specific parameter values of the system. Phase portraits are obtained and their dependences on parameters of the system are analyzedfor both linear and non-linear cases

Cr2O3/Al-Al2O3 composite catalysts for hydrocarbons dehydrogenation prepared from aluminum nanopowder

Aluminum nanopowder (10–150 nm) was treated hydrothermally in mild conditions (60–95 °C, at atmospheric pressure), and an aluminum-alumina composite with high porosity and specific surface area was obtained. Cr2O3/Al-Al2O3 catalysts were prepared using the aluminum-alumina composite by impregnation techniques and tested in dehydrogenation of C4-hydrocarbons. It was shown that aluminum-alumina composites had high chemical and phase purity, specific surface area of 150–350 m2/g and the average pore size of 8–13 nm, that is favorable for application as support for catalysts. Cr2O3/Al-Al2O3 catalysts had high activity and selectivity in dehydrogenation of n- and i-butane (conversion of 44–80 mol.% and selectivity >85% at temperatures of 540–610 °C), that is comparable ones for commercial catalysts for CATOFIN, STAR processes

The Threat and Fear of War: The State and Politics in American Mass Media

    Get PDF
The cultivation of political fears of the state and radical change of attitudes in the minds of people is possible in certain socio-political and economic conditions and massive propaganda in the mass media. The concept of political fear is insufficiently studied in psycholinguistics. This article is dedicated to exploring the political fears of the state in the modern American mass media. This research uses hypothetical-deductive and inductive methods, methods of definitional, interpretative and subjective analysis, and content analysis. It is found that in the modern American mass media, political fear of the state is revealed in fear of war and competition. To verbalize the horror of war and struggle, politicians in power use various tactics of agonal function as the main means of impact on opponents

Influence of the composition, structure, and physical and chemical properties of aluminium-oxide-based sorbents on water adsorption ability

    Get PDF
Interaction between the water adsorption ability of aluminium-oxide-based sorbents and their chemical composition, acid-base properties of the surface, and textural characteristics has been analysed. Alumina desiccants were synthesized with the centrifugal-thermal activation of gibbsite followed by the hydration of the gibbsite under mild conditions. It was demonstrated that the multicyclic adsorption regeneration of samples under realistic conditions results in structural transformations and changes in the acidity of their surfaces and water adsorption ability. The modification of pseudoboehmite with alkali ions increases surface basicity and the dynamic capacity of adsorbents relating to water vapours. Equations have been presented that describe the adsorption and desorption processes taking place during water vapour adsorption with the materials studied
