The P* model as a general identity to analyze and forecast the behavior of the inflation rate in the economy of Puerto Rico
In this work the P* model is used to analyze and forecast the inflation rate in the economy of Puerto Rico. This model is based on two essential points: the first one is to identify the inflationary potential of an economic system through the estimation of the price level to which the inflation tends to adjust in the long run. The second, points that the price level will be adjust, in the long run, to the forecast of the model. Given the way in which the monetary sector in Puerto Rico its constituted, the model needs to complement with U.S.A. monetary variables , such as, monetary supply, to forecast the inflation. The results indicate a long run relationship between the monetary supply of United States (M1) and the price level, the real production and the islands preferential interest rate. The final model is a good representation of the generating process of information (GPI) and it could be used for forecasting purposes. The same predicts the development of inflation better than the two ARIMA models previously selected
The redshift and broad band spectral energy distribution of NRAO 150
Context. NRAO 150 is one of the brightest radio and mm AGN sources on the
northern sky. It has been revealed as an interesting source where to study
extreme relativistic jet phenomena. However, its cosmological distance has not
been reported so far, because of its optical faintness produced by strong
Galactic extinction.
Aims. Aiming at measuring the redshift of NRAO 150, and hence to start making
possible quantitative studies from the source.
Methods. We have conducted spectroscopic and photometric observations of the
source in the near-IR, as well as in the optical.
Results. All such observations have been successful in detecting the source.
The near-IR spectroscopic observations reveal strong H and H
emission lines from which the cosmological redshift of NRAO 150
() has been determined for the first time. We classify the
source as a flat-spectrum radio-loud quasar, for which we estimate a large
super-massive black-hole mass . After
extinction correction, the new near-IR and optical data have revealed a
high-luminosity continuum-emission excess in the optical (peaking at
\,\AA, rest frame) that we attribute to thermal emission from the
accretion disk for which we estimate a high accretion rate, \,% of the
Eddington limit.
Conclusions. Comparison of these source properties, and its broad-band
spectral-energy distribution, with those of Fermi blazars allow us to predict
that NRAO 150 is among the most powerful blazars, and hence a high luminosity
-although not detected yet- -ray emitter.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure

Overview of ASDEX Upgrade results
The ASDEX Upgrade (AUG) programme is directed towards physics input to critical
elements of the ITER design and the preparation of ITER operation, as well as addressing
physics issues for a future DEMO design. Since 2015, AUG is equipped with a new pair of
3-strap ICRF antennas, which were designed for a reduction of tungsten release during ICRF
operation. As predicted, a factor two reduction on the ICRF-induced W plasma content could
be achieved by the reduction of the sheath voltage at the antenna limiters via the compensation
of the image currents of the central and side straps in the antenna frame. There are two main
operational scenario lines in AUG. Experiments with low collisionality, which comprise
current drive, ELM mitigation/suppression and fast ion physics, are mainly done with freshly
boronized walls to reduce the tungsten influx at these high edge temperature conditions. Full
ELM suppression and non-inductive operation up to a plasma current of Ip = 0.8 MA could
be obtained at low plasma density. Plasma exhaust is studied under conditions of high neutral
divertor pressure and separatrix electron density, where a fresh boronization is not required.
Substantial progress could be achieved for the understanding of the confinement degradation
by strong D puffing and the improvement with nitrogen or carbon seeding. Inward/outward
shifts of the electron density profile relative to the temperature profile effect the edge stability
via the pressure profile changes and lead to improved/decreased pedestal performance.
Seeding and D gas puffing are found to effect the core fueling via changes in a region of high
density on the high field side (HFSHD).
The integration of all above mentioned operational scenarios will be feasible and
naturally obtained in a large device where the edge is more opaque for neutrals and higher
plasma temperatures provide a lower collisionality. The combination of exhaust control
with pellet fueling has been successfully demonstrated. High divertor enrichment values of
nitrogen EN 10 have been obtained during pellet injection, which is a prerequisite for the
simultaneous achievement of good core plasma purity and high divertor radiation levels.
Impurity accumulation observed in the all-metal AUG device caused by the strong neoclassical
inward transport of tungsten in the pedestal is expected to be relieved by the higher

Nanoparticle biocoating to create ATP-powered swimmers capable of repairing proteins on the fly
In this study, we combine nanotechnology and biotechnology to design a biocompatible propulsion system based on the molecular chaperone Hsp90, a heat-shock protein (Hsp) that, in the presence of adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP), undergoes nanoscale conformational changes while trapping and renaturing other proteins. We show how, subjected to ATP availability in the medium, Hsp90-functionalized particles significantly enhance their diffusion motion, being able to achieve ballistic motion, while keeping the ability to restore the activity of surrounding heat-inactivated proteins. This biomechanics-based propulsion mechanism represents a promising strategy for the design of self-propelled nanodevices capable of performing sophisticated tasks in live biological contexts that include sensing the environment, recognizing and capturing, folding, and restoring defective proteins on the fly. In the short term, Hsp90-driven nanodevices could be applied to improve industrial processes that require enzymatic catalysis and high temperatures. But in the medium to long term, this bioactive coating could be used in the design of nanomachines that, like mini-robots, navigate the complex body cavities of biological tissues, deliver therapies and/or remove misfolded proteins in disorders such as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.Acknowledgments: The authors acknowledge the financial support from the Spanish Instituto de Salud Carlos iii, and the European Union FEDER funds under Projects ref. The Evolution of Collective Land Tenure Regimes in Pastoralist Societies: Lessons from Andean Countries
Much has been said about the importance of pastoralist livelihoods for the effective and sustainable use of drylands around the world. Yet, pastoralist societies are experiencing more pressures to their way of life than ever before. These pressures and changing trends are jeopardising pastoralist livelihoods as well as the sustainability of dryland resources.
In the face of this challenging reality, this paper aims to analyse how land tenure regimes of pastoralist societies living in the Andean altiplano have transformed over the last 50 years. It also discusses the implications of these transformations for the sustainability of resource management in these areas, based on the premise that a better understanding of customary land tenure regimes can help to inform public policy and decision making.GRADEELLA projectPractical Actio
Mean field study of structural changes in Pt isotopes with the Gogny interaction
The evolution of the nuclear shapes along the triaxial landscape is studied
in the Pt isotopic chain using the selfconsistent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov
approximation based on the Gogny interaction. In addition to the
parametrization D1S, the new incarnations D1N and D1M of this force are also
included in our analysis to asses to which extent the predictions are
independent of details of the effective interaction. The considered range of
neutron numbers 88<N<26 includes prolate, triaxial, oblate and spherical ground
state shapes and serves for a detailed comparison of the predictions obtained
with the new sets D1N and D1M against the ones provided by the standard
parametrization Gogny-D1S in a region of the nuclear landscape for which
experimental and theoretical fingerprints of shape transitions have been found.
Structural evolution along the Pt chain is discussed in terms of the

Lasso Estimation of an Interval-Valued Multiple Regression Model
A multiple interval-valued linear regression model considering all the
cross-relationships between the mids and spreads of the intervals has been
introduced recently. A least-squares estimation of the regression parameters
has been carried out by transforming a quadratic optimization problem with
inequality constraints into a linear complementary problem and using Lemke's
algorithm to solve it. Due to the irrelevance of certain cross-relationships,
an alternative estimation process, the LASSO (Least Absolut Shrinkage and
Selection Operator), is developed. A comparative study showing the differences
between the proposed estimators is provided
AGROCLIMA-SSP v1.0 a tool for Scientific Support to Policies for strategy assessment in agricultural systems under climate change scenarios
A tool to support decision makers in the design of new irrigation planning is being constructed. Information for decision makers (from Agricultural Extension Services to Ministries relating to Infrastructures for Irrigation Planning) on the impacts of climate change on yields and water requirements, as well as the need to consider changes in the cropping areas and systems is difficult to convey because of the uncertainties linked to climate projections. This explains the need for tools to assist evaluation and dissemination of climate impact projections that do not over-simplify, but yet present clear outputs without loss of content. An improved transfer of results on impacts, uncertainties and adaptations that incorporate the feed-back from decision makers can be done through tools that synthesise main conclusions while avoiding generalisations that hide regional differences, and individual crop and cropping options results. These tools should be designed to facilitate participation and interaction of different users or partners, always though the modelling expert, and in this context AGROCLIMA-SSP is being constructed
