This study was carried out with the objective of determining the quantity of selected essential and nonessential metals; K, Na, Mg, Ca, Cu, Mn, Cr, Cd, Fe and Zn in the leaf and stem of Rhamnus prinoides. Samples were collected from the low-altitude (1500.1670 meters above sea level) and medium-altitude (1670.2000 meters above sea level) areas of Bako Tibe. Wet acid-digestion using a mixture of HNO3, HClO4 and H2O2 for leaf (2.5, 1, 0.5 mL) and for stem (2.5, 1.5, 1 mL) was used. K and Na were analysed using flame photometry, Ca and Mg were determined  titrimetrically and the other metals with flame atomic absorption   spectrometry (FAAS) after appropriate quality control measures were undertaken to verify and maintain the quality of the data generated. The results of the study showed that the average concentrations determined were ranged from 8855.543 (stem) to 12927.3 (leaf) mg kg-1 for K, 226.214 (leaf) to 308.657 (stem) mg kg-1 for Na, 6144 (stem) to 11120 (leaf) mg kg-1 for Ca, 352.34 (leaf) to 1526.809 (stem) mg kg-1 for Mg, 29.0995 (leaf) to 49.913 (stem) mg kg-1 for Cu, 3.357 (stem) to 13.107 (stem) mg kg-1 for Mn, 1.714 (leaf) to 2.374 (stem) mg kg-1 for Cr, 8.58 (leaf) to 10.73 (stem) mg kg-1 for Fe, 3.483 (leaf) to 18.36 (stem) mg kg-1for Zn and below method detection limit for Cd. The concentrations of the metals were also compared with recommended maximum permissible limits and some international reports; and found to be in a good agreement indicating no exposure risk of using the leaves and stems of Rhamnus prinoides under the current situation

A woman requires more nutrition during pregnancy, which is a physiological condition. When compared to non-pregnant women, a pregnant woman needs 2-3 times the amount of iron than usual. Pandu means pallor of body which can be correlated with 'Anemia' of modern science. Many references in Ayurvedic classics denote that Garbhini Pandu is available. Design: 30 patients of Garbhini Pandu were selected from OPD and IPD of Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga department from Dr. BRKR GAMC, Hyderabad and were administered 15ml of Drakshaghrita twice daily (morning and evening) on empty stomach orally along with Anupana of Sukoshnadugdha consecutively for 90 days. Results: Statistically highly significant results were seen in Pallor, Glossitis, Bhrama, Hrudrava, Hb% and edema of the lower extremity with p< 0.001. Conclusions: The study showed that Draksha Gritha is effective in the management of Garbhini Pandu

Camera traps are an efficient means of biodiversity assessments. however, the employment of camera traps for the study of insects is still in its beginning. Accurate counting and recognition of flying insects are also of great importance in pest control. In this paper, we present a new method combining a time-lapse camera, and a light source, designed to estimate macro-Lepidoptera species composition, occurrence and also daily rhythms of their attraction to light. The advantage of the system is that it enables to monitor the species assemblages distantly. The rhythms to light attraction discussed for six Noctuidae species

Common mode control circuit for a switchable fully differential Op-AMP

In switch-capacitor systems for extremely low supply voltage, employing a fully differential switched op-amp, proper functioning of nMOS switches coupled to the inverting input node of an integrated stage capable of outputting a common mode control signal is made possible by retaining the ground potential on the input node to prevent body effects on the threshold of nMOS switches by means of an auxiliary switched capacitor

A 0.01%THD, 70dB PSRR Single Ended Class D using variable hysteresis control for headphone amplifiers

International audienceSwitching audio amplifiers are widely used in H-Bridge topology thanks to their high efficiency; however low audio performances in single ended power stage topology is a strong weakness leading to not be used for headset applications. This paper explains the importance of efficient error correction in Single Ended Class-D audio amplifier. A hysteresis control for Class-D amplifier with a variable window is also presented. The analyses are verified by simulations and measurements. The proposed solution was fabricated in 0.13μm CMOS technology with an active area of 0.2mm². It could be used in single ended output configuration fully compatible with common headset connectors. The proposed Class-D amplifier achieves a harmonic distortion of 0.01% and a power supply rejection of 70dB with a quite low static current consumption

High speed switched op-amp for low supply voltage applications

    No full text
In a switched operational amplifier including a differential input stage and at least a second output stage, the compensation capacitor commonly required to couple the output node of the second stage with the respective output node of the input differential stage of the amplifier is associated with a switching circuit. The switching circuit is controlled by the same control phase that enables/disables the amplifier for interrupting the connection between the compensation capacitor (CC) and the output node of the differential input stage during a phase in which the amplifier is disabled for reducing the switch-on time. Notably the differential input stage of the operational amplifier remains always active and only the second output stage is switched on and off

    A 40-nm CMOS, 1.1-V, 101-dB Dynamic-Range, 1.7-mW Continuous-Time ΣΔ ADC for a Digital Closed-Loop Class-D Amplifier

    No full text
International audienceThis paper presents a continuous-time third-order modulator designed for closing the feedback loop of a digital class-D audio amplifier. The closed-loop digital class-D amplifier fully exploits the potential of the used 40-nm CMOS technology to achieve at the same time the flexibility of digital implementations and the performance of analog solutions. The proposed Sigma Delta modulator consumes 1.7 mW from a 1.1-V power supply, achieving 101-dB dynamic-range (DR) and 72-dB peak signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR). The active-RC implementation allows the 1.1-V Sigma Delta modulator inputs to be directly connected to the 5-V class-D amplifier power stage outputs and inherently guarantees third-order anti-aliasing filtering
