Holographic characterization of chain photopolymerization
A holographic characterization technique is developed in accordance with a general photopolymerization model. The technique allows detailed quantification of the chemical parameters, including their variation from the Trommsdorff effect. The holographic procedure is especially suited for studying the diffusion of the chemical reactants
Amplitude-equation formalism for four-wave-mixing geometry with transmission gratings
An amplitude equation is derived for a four-wave-mixing geometry with nearly counterpropagating, mutually incoherent, nondiffracting pump beams, spatially overlapping in a photorefractive material with a nonlocal response. This equation extends the earlier linear two-dimensional theory to the weakly nonlinear regime. The analysis also starts from a more complete equation for the photorefractive effect, which leads to the prediction of novel effects especially apparent in the nonlinear regime. Precise predictions for the spatiotemporal behavior of the grating amplitude in the nonlinear regime are presented. The range of validity of the amplitude equation is studied. The characteristics of the instability in the nonlinear regime are analyzed through a front-selection analysis
Transition to an oscillator for double phase-conjugate mirror
Summary form only given. Some of the novel quantified characteristics for double phase conjugate mirrors are analysed including the effects of the nonlinearity on the critical dynamics (approach to saturation) and on the spatial distribution of the grating (large scale distortion of the beams and conjugation fidelity) and sensitivity to noise (seeding). The approach used also clarifies the question of linear instability and predicts a new transition to an oscillatory regime
IFRS 15: Revenue from Customer Contracts Standard and Analysis of Presentation and Footnotes of Tourism Companies Trading in Istanbul Stock Exchange According to IFRS-15 Standard
Revenue is one of the most important performance and size indicators for businesses. A new standard, which has more comprehensive and comparable feature to eliminate the deficiencies in the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standart)-15 Revenue From Customer Contracts Standard published on 15.01.2019 and the old revenue (IAS-18 Revenue and IAS (Inernational Accounting Standarts) -11 Construction Contracts) standards to be applied in the accounting periods starting after 01.01.2018, has been introduced. The most important purpose of the standard is to eliminate the uncertainties and deficiencies in the old standards with a five-step model on important issues related to when and what amount of the revenue based on the contract with customers will be accounted.
According to IFRS-15 Revenue From Customer Contracts Standard, which is applied for the accurate reporting of revenues, comprehensive analysis of the financial table footnotes of the businesses in the tourism sector concerning presentation of the records related to the revenue in the financial statements in the footnotes, the contracts placed with the customer of the enterprise, important evaluations in the application of the standard and the transaction costs incurred in the financial statements as an asset has been the scope of this study
Gender differences in item format and skill area: Some evidence from an EFL acheievement test
Cataloged from PDF version of article. The present study investigated the extent to which male and female language learners’ scores on achievement tests
vary according to item format and skill areas. The statistical analysis of data from one achievement test administered
to 303 pre-intermediate level students indicated that males and females’ scores showed differences in both item
format and skill areas. While females outperformed males significantly with ‘find the correct form’ and ‘paragraph
writing’ questions, males did not show any superiority in any item format. Females also outperformed males in three
skill areas; ‘writing’ ‘grammar’ and ‘vocabulary’ while males scored higher only in ‘listening’. Possible reasons behind
these differences between males and females’ scores can benefit future researchers, language teachers, and
administrators in terms of theoretical and practical perspectives. © Association of Gazi Foreign Language Teaching. All rights reserve
Vergi usul kanunundan uluslararasi finansal raporlama standartlarina dogru : finansal tablolarin yolculugu
While the independent auditing in publicly-held corporations was made in accordance with Serial X No:11 Communique of the Capital Market Law until 2005 pursuant to CML, then the regulatory authorities (Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, BRSA - Undersecretariat of Treasury and Energy Market Regulatory Authority, etc.) led by the Capital Market Board ordered independent audit to be made over the financial statements prepared in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards within the framework of union acquis. Basically, all the companies in Turkey are obliged to prepare their financial statements in accordance with the provisions of Tax Procedure Law (TPL). Companies subject to supreme regulatory authorities led by publicly-held corporations subject to Capital Market Law are obliged to submit some correction and classification records while preparing their financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) after the preparation of financial statements in accordance with the Tax Procedure Law; and generally these accounting records are provided by majority of the companies not over the accounting information system but outside accounting.peer-reviewe
Integration and management of Wi-Fi offloading in service provider infrastructures
A. Serdar Tan (MEF Author)##nofulltext##Integration of offloading technologies into mobile network operator's infrastructures that provide heterogeneous access services is a challenging task for mobile operators. A connectivity management platform is a key element for heterogeneous mobile network operators in order to enable optimal offloading. In this study, development and integration of a connectivity management platform that uses a novel multiple attribute decision making algorithms for efficient Wi-Fi Offloading in heterogeneous wireless networks is presented. The proposed platform collects several terminal and network level attributes via infrastructure and client Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and decides the best network access technology to connect for requested users. Through experimentation, we provide details on the platform integration with service provider's network and sensitivity analysis of the multiple attribute decision making algorithm
Self-written waveguides in photopolymerizable resins
We study the optically-induced growth and interaction of self-written
waveguides in a photopolymerizable resin. We investigate experimentally how the
interaction depends on the mutual coherence and relative power of the input
beams, and suggest an improved analytical model that describes the growth of
single self-written waveguides and the main features of their interaction in
photosensitive materials.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figure
A Search for Vector Diquarks at the CERN LHC
Resonant production of the first generation vector diquarks at the CERN Large
Hadron Collider (LHC) is investigated. It is shown that the LHC will be able to
discover vector diquarks with masses up to 9 TeV for quark-diquark-quark
coupling alpha_(D)=0.1 and 4 TeV for alpha_(D)=5x10^(-4).Comment: 9 pages, 4 tables, 4 figure
Measurement of the Permanent Electric Dipole Moment of the Xe Atom
We report on a new measurement of the CP-violating permanent Electric Dipole
Moment (EDM) of the neutral Xe atom. Our experimental approach is based
on the detection of the free precession of co-located nuclear spin-polarized
He and Xe samples. The EDM measurement sensitivity benefits
strongly from long spin coherence times of several hours achieved in diluted
gases and homogeneous weak magnetic fields of about 400~nT. A finite EDM is
indicated by a change in the precession frequency, as an electric field is
periodically reversed with respect to the magnetic guiding field. Our result,
ecm, is consistent with zero and is
used to place a new upper limit on the Xe EDM: ecm (95% C.L.). We also discuss the implications of this result for
various CP-violating observables as they relate to theories of physics beyond
the standard model
