Use of statistical study methods for the analysis of the results of the imitation modeling of radiation transfer
Recently, due to the abundance of various types of observational data in the systems of vision through the atmosphere and the need for their processing, the use of various methods of statistical research in the study of such systems as correlation-regression analysis, dynamic series, variance analysis, etc. is actual. We have attempted to apply elements of correlation-regression analysis for the study and subsequent prediction of the patterns of radiation transfer in these systems same as in the construction of radiation models of the atmosphere. In this paper, we present some results of statistical processing of the results of numerical simulation of the characteristics of vision systems through the atmosphere obtained with the help of a special software package
Thin films flowing down inverted substrates: Three dimensional flow
We study contact line induced instabilities for a thin film of fluid under
destabilizing gravitational force in three dimensional setting. In the previous
work (Phys. Fluids, {\bf 22}, 052105 (2010)), we considered two dimensional
flow, finding formation of surface waves whose properties within the
implemented long wave model depend on a single parameter,
, where is the capillary number and is
the inclination angle. In the present work we consider fully 3D setting and
discuss the influence of the additional dimension on stability properties of
the flow. In particular, we concentrate on the coupling between the surface
instability and the transverse (fingering) instabilities of the film front. We
furthermore consider these instabilities in the setting where fluid viscosity
varies in the transverse direction. It is found that the flow pattern strongly
depends on the inclination angle and the viscosity gradient
Thermocapillary rupture in falling liquid films at moderate Reynolds numbers
An experimental study of the flow of a water film over a heated surface for Re = 15-50 was performed. The influence of the development of thermocapillary instability on the wave amplitudes, the deformation of the surface of the liquid film, and the formation of the first stable dry spot on the heater are investigated. It is shown that the interaction of waves with thermocapillary structures can lead to an increase in the critical heat flux corresponding to the rupture of the liquid film, as compared with the data known in the literature
