    An efficient computational technique for solving the Fokker–Planck equation with space and time fractional derivatives

    AbstractThis paper presents numerical solutions of the linear and nonlinear Fokker–Planck partial differential equations [FPPDEs] with space and time fractional derivatives through analytical solutions. These are treated by two analytical methods, namely, fractional reduced differential transform method [FRDTM] and fractional variational iteration method [FVIM] followed by some examples. Numerical results obtained by both FRDTM and FVIM are compared with some existing methods in the literature. This comparison shows the supremacy of FRDTM over FVIM and existing methods in terms of accuracy, simplicity and reliability

    Theoretical Analysis of Continuous Heat Extraction from Absorber of Solar Still for Improving the Productivity

    This paper communicates the theoretical analysis of continuous waste heat extraction from the other side of absorber plate. For theoretical analysis two conditions are determined one is the mass of water in the absorber and another one is mass flow rate of water around the absorber plate. Results indicated that the water temperature is reached maximum at 10 kg of mass and 5 kg/hr mass flow of water and the heat extracted from the absorber is higher at optimum mass flow of 5 kg/hr. Also, the higher temperature difference between the water and the collector cover is found during the off-shine period. The maximum achievable hourly productivity of 0.9 and 0.5 kg is found for the solar still with and without circulation respectively. The yield from present model with continuous heat extraction is increased from 3 to 5.5 kg/m2. As the approached method is more new to the society it may be determined by Agouz- Nagarajan- Sathyamurthy (ANS) model

    Airlines release the unburned jet fuel into the atmosphere to reduce the weight of aircraft before landing. Sometimes, aircraft reach a weight more than takeoff weight while departing from the airport. Therefore, the pilot follows the ATC comment to dump fuel into the atmosphere to reduce the aircraft\u27s weight to avoid accidents. Due to fuel dumping, an airline faces fuel consumption, loss, and several diseases affect environmental pollutants, and living things. The total fuel consumption of commercial airlines worldwide in 2021 is 57 billion gallons. If jet fuel routinely hit the ground, it would pollute water and land and damage crops and biodiversity. With this, we have worked on the project to rescue fuel dumping into the atmosphere and save living things from various diseases

    Structural Conformers of (1,3-Dithiol-2-ylidene)ethanethioamides: The Balance Between Thioamide Rotation and Preservation of Classical Sulfur-Sulfur Hypervalent Bonds

    The reaction of N-(2-phthalimidoethyl)-N-alkylisopropylamines and S2Cl2 gave 4-N-(2-phthalimidoethyl)-N-alkylamino-5-chloro-1,2-dithiol-3-thiones that quantitatively cycloadded to dimethyl or diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate to give stable thioacid chlorides, which in turn reacted with one equivalent of aniline or a thiole to give thioanilides or a dithioester. Several compounds of this series showed atropisomers that were studied by a combination of dynamic NMR, simulation of the signals, conformational analysis by DFT methods, and single crystal X-ray diffraction, showing a good correlation between the theoretical calculations, the experimental values of energies, and the preferred conformations in the solid state. The steric hindering of the crowded substitution at the central amine group was found to be the reason for the presence of permanent atropisomers in this series of compounds and the cause of a unique disposition of the thioxo group at close-to-right angles with respect to the plane defined by the 1,3-dithiole ring in the dithiafulvene derivatives, thus breaking the sulfur–sulfur hypervalent bond that is always found in this kind of compounds.Ministerio de Economıá y Competitividad, Spain (Project CTQ2012- 31611), Junta de Castilla y León, Consejería de Educación y Cultura y Fondo Social Europeo (Project BU246A12-1), and the European Commission, Seventh Framework Programme (Project SNIFFER FP7-SEC-2012-312411

    Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA); targeting oral cavity pathogens

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Boswellic acids mixture of triterpenic acids obtained from the oleo gum resin of <it>Boswellia serrata </it>and known for its effectiveness in the treatment of chronic inflammatory disease including peritumor edema. Boswellic acids have been extensively studied for a number of activities including anti inflammatory, antitumor, immunomodulatory, and inflammatory bowel diseases. The present study describes the antimicrobial activities of boswellic acid molecules against oral cavity pathogens. Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA), which exhibited the most potent antibacterial activity, was further evaluated in time kill studies, mutation prevention frequency, postantibiotic effect (PAE) and biofilm susceptibility assay against oral cavity pathogens.</p> <p>Findings</p> <p>AKBA exhibited an inhibitory effect on all the oral cavity pathogens tested (MIC of 2-4 μg/ml). It exhibited concentration dependent killing of S<it>treptococcus mutans </it>ATCC 25175 up to 8 × MIC and also prevented the emergence of mutants of <it>S.mutans </it>ATCC 25175 at 8× MIC. AKBA demonstrated postantibiotic effect (PAE) of 5.7 ± 0.1 h at 2 × MIC. Furthermore, AKBA inhibited the formation of biofilms generated by <it>S.mutans </it>and <it>Actinomyces viscosus </it>and also reduced the preformed biofilms by these bacteria.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>AKBA can be useful compound for the development of antibacterial agent against oral pathogens and it has great potential for use in mouthwash for preventing and treating oral infections.</p

    Modelling of the effect of ELMs on fuel retention at the bulk W divertor of JET

    Effect of ELMs on fuel retention at the bulk W target of JET ITER-Like Wall was studied with multi-scale calculations. Plasma input parameters were taken from ELMy H-mode plasma experiment. The energetic intra-ELM fuel particles get implanted and create near-surface defects up to depths of few tens of nm, which act as the main fuel trapping sites during ELMs. Clustering of implantation-induced vacancies were found to take place. The incoming flux of inter-ELM plasma particles increases the different filling levels of trapped fuel in defects. The temperature increase of the W target during the pulse increases the fuel detrapping rate. The inter-ELM fuel particle flux refills the partially emptied trapping sites and fills new sites. This leads to a competing effect on the retention and release rates of the implanted particles. At high temperatures the main retention appeared in larger vacancy clusters due to increased clustering rate
