Education is considered to be a key factor for the growth and process of any society. Mathematics Education is an important component of school Education. Learning difficulties is a major contributing factor for the children in schools, which requires immediate concern. Dyscalculia refers to an incurable difficulty in learning and understanding Mathematics. Primary School students find these difficulties in learning of number concepts and basic arithmetic. The study under investigation is to find out children who are affected by dyscalculia in the schools of karaikudi. The investigator proposes to use Survey Method for this study. Population for the study is Primary school students in karaikudi. The random sampling technique was used for this study. The sample is 100 primary school students in karaikudi. The tool for the study is adopted screening tool for identifying the dyscalculic students. The study revealed 9% students of the primary school in karaikudi were found to be dyscalculia. Hence identifying the dyscalculic students and giving them the necessary intervention programmes to improve their learning difficulties in Mathematics and it is the need of the hour.

Food and clothing have been one of the most essential needs in human life since the Sangam period till today. This is a fact that no one can deny. During the period when man appeared and began to develop civilization, he tried to cover his body with leaves, vines, plants, tree bark, animal skin, etc. Due to the change of time and development in science and human knowledge, cotton was made into a cotton cloth. It can be seen in Sangam literature that the news of the importation of upper country clothes through sea trade. From kids to adults, body coverings are much loved. Similarly, during the Sangam era, jewellery was also preferred by both men and women. In the period that followed the boom in metal manufacturing, jewelry was loved by everyone from the king to the common people. Accessories were preferred for beautifying purposes and for the luxurious need to proudly display one’s comfort. In this way, this article examines and explains the news about the costumes and accessories of the characters in the St. Antony Drama performed only during the festival season at the Kommadikottai Visuvasapuram St. Antony church

The songs have increased, the prose has improved, and the facilities like stage decoration have decreased is Koothu. The drama is full of facilities like songs, prose, beautiful stage, sound, light etc. Drama was considered as a branch of Koothu. Narrators say that drama is a story-driven speech. Drama is the change and development of Ku in the post 19th century period. Associate teachers were given as theater actors and professors of drama. It can be seen that the names of Koothu are given as Rama Drama Siruthondar drama, Arichandra drama. The development of street play is drama. Koothu are performed in the open air in villages and are performed for the people by folk artists. This can also be considered as rural drama. It can be seen that the drama, which first started as a street play, then turned into a stage play and developed into a literary play, has evolved and progressed and the old traditional folk plays are dying out. Through performances, rituals and ceremonies, the people of the country get what they want by begging or making amends with their faith In God. Thus in this article we can see what are the beliefs of the country people through the play performed in Thirukalyana Matha Shrine

Since the couple of decades the demand for silk has been increasing day by day but the average silk production is not enough to meet its demand. In this study, we investigated the effect of with Maize extract in different concentration (0.5%,1.0 %,1.5 %,2.0%, 2.5 %)on the growth 5th stage silkworm larvae on the biological and commercial traits of Bombyx mori L. The silkworm larvae at 5th instar stage were taken and fed with fresh and healthy mulberry leaves coated with Maize extract in different concentration. Results of the current study revealed that the higher growth parameters of 5th stage silkworm larvae, the cocoon weight, shell weight, and shell ratio were increased, and thus improved the quality of silk as compared to the control. The commercial traits of larvae fed with Maize extract in different concentration leaves also improved significantly. The larvae fed with Maize extract in different concentration treated mulberry leaves showed the maximum cocoon weight, cocoon length, cocoon width, cocoon shell ratio and fibroin content as compared to the control group. It is evident from the results that the fed with Maize extract coated mulberry leaves have a positive effect on the commercial and biological traits of Bombyx mori (L.)

Food processing industries generate a massive amount of biowastes, which causes major environmental issues. High-level marketable bioproducts can be extracted from these biowastes as value-added products. One such value-added product is pectin. Papaya fruit is one of the tropical fruits that is utilized the most to produce a greater number of processed foods in the food processing industries. Papaya seeds are one of the underutilized parts of papaya and have potential commercial value-added products. The present study aims to extract pectin from papaya seed waste using the hot water extraction technique. Furthermore, one factor at a time (OFAT) was used to find the optimum process conditions for the high extraction of pectin. The parameters considered were liquid–solid ratio (5-50 ml/g), sample weight (5-25 g), extraction time (15-90 min), temperature (50-100°C) and pH (1-3). A high yield of pectin (8.655%) was obtained at a liquid–solid ratio of 25 mL/g, sample weight of 20 g, extraction time of 60 min at 80°C, pH of 1.5 and precipitation with ethanol. Proximate analysis was performed for the papaya seeds that had moisture (82.10%), ash (1.76%), protein (1.52%), fat (1.42%) and carbohydrate (13.20%), and the pectin extracted from papaya seeds were found to have moisture (7.8%), ash (7.6%), protein (2.2%), fat (2.1%) and carbohydrate (80.3%). Pectin was characterized with gas chromatography for its methoxy content, which was found to be 9.216%. The current investigation found that pectin obtained from papaya seeds had low methoxy pectin, which has commercial applications in the jam and jelly industries

Measurement of performance at institutions of higher learning: the balanced scorecard approach

Organisations have to confront with new developments brought about by the shift of industrial age competition to information age competition. As a result of this, certain assumptions with regard to the running and measurement of organisational performance have become obsolete. Information becomes essential to bring about new capabilities for competitive success. In the information age, it is vital for organisations to attempt to create future value through investments in customers, suppliers, employees, processes, technology and innovation (Kaplan and Norton, 1998a). Therefore, in information age, organisations need to formulate and utilise performance measurement tools that can be used to develop strategies, not only to create value for the current and future customers, but also to enhance current and future capabilities necessary to improve future performance. The tools are not only to be used to control behaviour and to evaluate past performances, but also to articulate and communicate future strategies. In brief, the objectives of this research study are: evaluate performance measurement at institutions of higher learning; assess the level of awareness and knowledge of balanced scorecard as a measure

Waiting in line is a common experience in daily life, whether for a table at a popular restaurant or for the service at a bank. This experience is not always pleasant for most of people because they always have to wait for a long time to be serviced. The ability to interact with waiting customers is highly desirable because it allows businesses the opportunity to optimize their existing services and offer new services to waiting customers. However, interacting with individuals waiting in a queue has been inefficient and costly because employees must either talk with each waiting customer on an ongoing basis or the business must provide high tech devices that interact with each waiting customer. Agile methodology which will be used to develop this application, it incorporates the SDLC phases starting from the Planning phase up to the Maintenance phase. End of the research, we found that majority of respondents are prefer to use the proposed system compared with current method

A Graph G is Super Strongly Perfect Graph if every induced sub graph H of G possesses a minimal dominating set that meets all the maximal complete sub graphs of H. In this paper, we have investigated the characterization of Super Strongly Perfect graphs using odd cycles. We have given the characterization of Super Strongly Perfect graphs in chordal and strongly chordal graphs. We have presented the results of Chordal graphs in terms of domination and co - domination numbers γ and . We have given the relationship between diameter, domination and co - domination numbers of chordal graphs. Also we have analysed the structure of Super Strongly Perfect Graph in Chordal graphs and Strongly Chordal graphs
