Ontogeny and evolution in the Megapodes (Aves: Galliformes)

    Get PDF
Unlike all other birds, megapodes of Australia and the Pacific Islands incubate their eggs in mounds or holes by heat from fermentation, sun, or volcanic activity…

Performance statistics of the FORTRAN 4 /H/ library for the IBM system/360

    Get PDF
Test procedures and results for accuracy and timing tests of the basic IBM 360/50 FORTRAN 4 /H/ subroutine library are reported. The testing was undertaken to verify performance capability and as a prelude to providing some replacement routines of improved performance

Dynamics of moving bubbles in single and binary component systems

    Get PDF
Dynamics of a single bubble moving in a quiescent liquid is analyzed for single and binary component systems. The transport of energy and/or mass at thermodynamic-phase equilibrium governs the dynamics of the bubble at its interface

The Movement for Home Rule in Prince Georges County, Maryland 1961-1964

Members of the family Megapodiidae of Australia and the Pacific Islands incubate their eggs artificially using such heat sources as fermentation, volcanic activity, or the sun…

Inventory of wetlands and agricultural land cover in the upper Sevier River Basin, Utah

    Get PDF
The use of color infrared aerial photography in the mapping of agricultural land use and wetlands in the Sevier River Basin of south central utah is described. The efficiency and cost effectiveness of utilizing LANDSAT multispectral scanner digital data to augment photographic interpretations are discussed. Transparent overlays for 27 quadrangles showing delineations of wetlands and agricultural land cover were produced. A table summarizing the acreage represented by each class on each quadrangle overlay is provided

Analysis of fluid/mechanical systems using EASY5

    Get PDF
This paper illustrates how the use of a general analysis package can simplify modeling and analyzing fluid/mechanical systems. One such package is EASY5, a Boeing Computer Services product. The basic transmission line equations for modeling piped fluid systems are presented, as well as methods of incorporating these equations into the EASY5 environment. The paper describes how this analysis tool has been used to model several fluid subsystems of the Space Shuttle Orbiter

Archeological Assessment of Historic and Prehistoric Sites Alone U.S. 87 Sterling County, Texas

    Get PDF
Archeological investigations were undertaken along U.S. 87 in Sterling County by archeologists from the Environmental Affairs Division of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) with the assistance of TxDOT\u27s San Angelo District Office. The effort included identification and assessment of cultural resources that would be impacted by the proposed widening of approximately three miles of U.S. 87 beginning 4.6 miles northwest of State Highway 163 in Sterling County (Figure 1). The investigations were carried out as part of TxDOT\u27s efforts to identify historic and prehistoric properties eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (National Register) that might be affected by the undertaking
