     Tulisan ini membahas tentang asal-usul perayaan Tabuik dan Tabot di Sumatera yang mendapat pengaruh dari ritual keagamaan kaum Syi’ah di Persia (Iran). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sejauh mana akulturasi yang terjadi antara pengaruh budaya jazirah Arab (Timur Tengah) tersebut dengan budaya lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis melalui studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pera- yaan Tabuik dan Tabot dilaksanakan sebagai ritual mengenang kematian Husain di kalang- an penganut Islam Syi’ah yang menjadi ritual utama keagamaan yang bersifat teologis, dan penyebarannya ke pantai Barat Sumatra (Pariaman dan Bengkulu) mengalami  Perubahan nilai dari teologis menjadi bentuk ritual budaya, bahkan dalam beberapa kesempatan ha- nya menjadi pertunjukan budaya saja.

    ABSTRACT Talempong experiences metamorphosis from cultivated/orchestration aspect and form, from tradition into talempong kreasi and talempong goyang. This change is oriented on the diatonic musical system – by changing the musical scale/gamut into diatonic gamut. This new musical characteristic can accommodate various kinds of song such as traditional song, Minang pop-song, and dangdut so it is able to enter various people’s musical tastes. This change results on pessimistic and optimistic dilemma among people, artists, and art academics in Sumatera Barat. It’s pessimistic because the development rate of talempong kreasi has “killed” half of the social function of the talempong tradisi in the society and urged its distribution area to remote areas. Meanwhile, they who are optimistic move forward to developing talempong kreasi with bigger orchestration, with the wider scope of audience, even it can reach the outside area of Minangkabau ethnicity. This article aims at discussing the Dilemmatics of Minangkabau talempong (traditional music) development in Sumatera Barat. Observation toward the growth and development of talempong kreasi became the important data to support this research, and also simultaneously observe the existence of talempong tradisi in the society. Keywords: dilemmatics, talempong tradisi, talempong kreasi, and talempong goyang  ABSTRAK Talempong mengalami metamorfosis dari aspek garapan/orkestrasi dan bentuknya, dari tradisi menjadi talempong kreasi dan talempong goyang. Perubahan ini berorientasi pada sistem musik diatonis — dengan mengubah skala/tangga nada ke diatonis. Ciri musik “baru” ini dapat mengakomodasi berbagai jenis lagu tradisi, pop Minang, dan dangdut, sehingga ia mampu memasuki selera musik berbagai kalangan masyarakat. Perubahan ini menyisakan dilematika yang bersifat pesimistik dan optimistik di kalangan masyarakat, seniman, dan akademisi seni di Sumatera Barat. Pesimis, karena laju perkembangan talempong kreasi telah “membunuh” sebagian fungsi sosial talempong tradisi di masyarakat, dan mendesak wilayah sebarannya ke pelosok pedesaan. Sementara mereka yang optimis bergerak lebih maju mengembangkan talempong kreasi dengan orkestrasi yang lebih besar, dengan jangkauan penikmat yang lebih luas, bahkan bisa di luar kawasan etnik Minang. Artikel ini bertujuan membahas dilematika perkembangan talempong (musik tradisional) Minangkabau di Sumatera Barat.     This research is motivated by the lack of a student learning outcomes can be seen from the results of four gradestudents studied 72 Harapan Baru Elementary School, with an average value of 68. Therefore, the researchersprovide an alternative to the application of the concept map learning strategy in the fourth grade 72 HarapanBaru. This research aims to improve learning outcomes PKn Elementary School four grade students Mandausub 72 Harapan Baru with learning Implementation Strategy Concept Maps. This research is a form ofclassroom action research (PTK) with 2 cycles. Based on research data anlisis after implementing learningstrategies Concept Map, the average percentage of the activity of teachers in the first cycle 66,66% increased to87,46% in the second cycle. The average percentage of student activity also increased, namely 56,25% in thefirst cycle increased to 83,33% in the second cycle. Student learning outcomes in basic score by the averagevalue of 68 and the first cycle increased with an average value of 71,25 class with an increasing percentage oflearning outcomes 4,77% and the percentage of students who completed 65%, and the second cycle increasedagain by an average of 75.50 with the percentage improvement class learning outcomes 11,02% and thepercentage of students who completed 80%. These results indicate that the application of learning strategiesconcept maps can enhance learning outcomes PKn four grade students of SD Negeri 72 Harapan Baru

    Toxic relationships are dangerous. Toxic relationships are often found in dating relationships.     ABTRACT Potang balimau is self-purifying tradition or ritual namely taking a bath by using potpourri and lime water. This ritual is conducted one day before entering fasting month or Ramadhan and started after Dzuhur salat until before Magrib azan. Potang balimau is people’s tradition in Pangkalan Koto Baru, Lima Puluh Kota district. In its implementation, potang balimau tradition involves several competitions such as qasidah, reading Quran, and decorating mimbau competitions. Mimbau is the combination of two sampans decorated with various kinds of form such as tiger, traditional house, warplane, and so on. Specifically, each mimbau prepares a set of talempong gondang oguang equipped with jimbe, tambourine, drum, and sarunai. Music is played on the mimbau as the part of potang balimau tradition. This research objective is to reveal the function of music in potang balimau tradition in Pangkalan Koto Baru. The method used was the qualitative method; the data collection was conducted through observation and observing potang balimau tradition especially music performance related to the ceremony, audio-visual documentation, and the interview with a number of customary and public figures. Ritual ini dilaksanakan sehari sebelum memasuki bulan puasa Ramadhan dimulai setelah shalat dzuhur hingga sebelum adzan magrib berkumandang. Potang balimau adalah tradisi masyarakat Pangkalan Koto Baru, Kabuaten Lima Puluh Kota. Dalam pelaksanaannya tradisi potang balimau melibatkan beberapa perlombaan, seperti lomba qasidah, mengaji, dan menghias mimbau. Mimbau adalah gabungan dua buah sampan yang dihiasi dengan berbagai macam bentuk seperti harimau, rumah adat, dan pesawat tempur, dan lain sebagainya. Secara khusus, masing-masing mimbau mempersiapkan seperangkat talempong gondang oguang dan ditambah dengan jimbe, tamburin, drum, dan sarunai. Musik dimainkan di atas mimbau sebagai bagian dari tradisi potang balimau. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengungkap fungsi musik dalam tradisi potang balimau di Pangkalan Koto Baru.     Tornado In The Sea: A Media Transposition of the Barracuda Series Painting into a Musical Composition

    This work is the manifestation of the transformation of Zaimie bin Sahibil’s painting, Barracuda Series, into musical form. The Barracuda Series painting presents the beauty and richness of the ocean bed as a utopian paradigm of the maritime ecology of the coastal community of Sabah, Malaysia. The composer was inspired by his own aesthetic experience when appreciating the painting. This aesthetic experience became the material object that was treated with the concept of media transposition and turned into a musical composition. The media transposition was implemented through the interpretation and transformation of the external and internal structural levels of the Barracuda Series painting. These elements were adapted to create musical elements as a form of innovation in the way the composition was created. the creation of this work involved a number of work stages that were implemented constructively through a method of creation. These stages included: an analysis of data sources, experimentation, contemplation, composition, and formation. The work process utilized the results of extra-aesthetic interpretation and intra-aesthetic transformation to create an innovative musical text.
