    Hybrid Learning Design to Minimize Academic Stress of Digital Natives’ Generation in Accounting Course

    The digital natives generation (DNG) tends to experience relatively high academic stress if the learning design does not pay attention to its characteristics and culture. This study aims to develop a prototype of a hybrid learning model to minimise such stress amongst prospective accounting teachers. This hybrid learning design combines face to face and online learning using the Design-Based Research (DBR) method with stages of problem analysis when learning, and the development of solutions based on principles and theory. Questionnaires, interviews, FGDs and literature studies were used to collect data which were analysed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The study found that the DNG experiences relatively high academic stress in the accounting context, so it is necessary to develop a prototype of a flipped classroom-type hybrid learning model by considering its learning style and academic culture and based on the sociocultural revolution theory. This hybrid learning design remains to be tested in further research for its feasibility and effectiveness in minimising DNG academic stress

    Investigasi dan Analisa Coverage Area Pemancar CDMA di Daerah Surabaya dengan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG)

    Semakin meningkatnya pengguna sistem komunikasi wireless dengan mobilitas yang sangat tinggi, maka pengaturan spektrum frekuensi juga semakin sulit. Perlu diketahui bahwa mobilitas dapat menyebabkan terjadinya overlapping dalam penggunaan band frekuensi, sehingga parameter yang utama yang berpengaruh terhadap performance sebuah sistem komunikasi harus diperhatikan. Pada paper ini telah dilakukan investigasi melalui pengukuran level daya terima dari sebuah pemancar menggunakan spectrum analyzer dengan antenna omnidirectional pada frekuensi 700 MHz - 1GHz, tetapi analisa ditekankan pada frekuensi CDMA. Untuk pengambilan sample daerah pengukuran dibagi dalam 3 katagori yaitu daerah urban, sub-urban dan rural. Parameter pengukuran meliputi perubahan jarak, lokasi dan ketinggian antenna penerima. Sedangkan skenario pengukuran menggunakan model Okumura-Hata. Data hasil pengukuran digunakan untuk menghitung pathloss, kemudian grafik pathloss digunakan untuk menentukan coverage area. Dari hasil penelitian telah diperoleh sebuah database yang dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui kepadatan frekuensi. Disamping itu telah dilakukan perhitungan pathloss yang digunakan untuk menentukan coverage area dari BTS CDMA yaitu didaerah urban sebesar 1,994km, Sub-urban 2,780km dan Rural 2,960km. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa coverage area sebuah BTS sangat tergantung pada kondisi lingkungan disekitarnya.     Pada abad 21 sekarang ini, pendidikan tidak lagi menjadi hal yang dikesampingkan oleh warga negara Indonesia. Pendidikan bahkan menjadi salah satu prioritas utama warga negara Indonesia untuk mendapatkan kehidupan yang lebih baik. Kemajuan suatu bangsa tercemin dari kualitas pendidikan bangsa itu sendiri. Generasi muda dianggap dapat menjadi ujung tombak, dikarenakan mereka dapat menjadi sosok yang kreatif, inovatif, dan bertanggung jawab yang mampu bersaing di abad 21 ini yang siap menyongsong masa depan cerah melalui pendidikan. Akhir-akhir ini, inovasi dalam dunia pendidikan sedang gencar dilakukan. Salah satunya adalah melalui inovasi pengembangan dalam media pembelajaran. Inovasi pengembangan media pembelajaran dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, selain itu dapat tercipta iklim pembelajaran yang menyenangkan sehingga meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa, terutama dalam pembelajaran akuntansi yang membutuhkan tingkat pemahaman dan analisa yang tajam. Komik merupakan salah satu inovasi atau pembaharuan media pembelajaran. Kini komik tidak lagi hanya sebagai bacaan tetapi juga mulai merambah menjadi komik pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kontribusi penggunaan komik terhadap pembelajaran akuntansi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur, dan menggunakan data sekunder dengan analisis deskriptif.     The objective of this research is to improve the learning achievement in Accounting of the students in Grade XI of Social Science Program 5 of BCD Senior Secondary School through the application of the cooperative learning method of the Pairs Checks type with Peer Tutoring method.This research used the classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were the students as many 39 with 24 females and 15 males in Grade XI of Social Science Program 5 of BCD Senior Secondary School. The data sources of the research were informants (teacher and students of the school) and students' test result. The data of the research were gathered through observation, documentation, and in-depth interview, and test. The data were validated by using the method triangulation technique and investigation triangulation method. They were then analyzed by using the quantitative and qualitative data analyses. The performance indicator of the research was the students' learning achievement toward the Accounting subject matter, which fulfilled the minimal completeness criteria of at least 85% of the total number of subjects. The procedures of the research included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.The result of the research shows that the application of the cooperative learning model of the pairs checks type with the peer tutoring method can improve the students' learning achievement in Accounting from pre-treatment to Cycle I and Cycle II respectively. The learning process during the pre-treatment is teacher-centered in nature. Prior to the treatment, the number of the students who fulfilled the minimal completeness criteria is 24 (61.54%), and that of the students who did not fulfill the minimal completeness criteria is 15 (38.46%). Following the treatment, the number of the students who fulfilled the minimal completeness criteria becomes 33 (84.62%) in Cycle I and 37 (94.87%) in Cycle II respectively. Based on the result of the research, a conclusion is drawn that the application of the cooperative learning model of the pairs checks type with the peer tutoring method can improve the learning achievement in Accounting of the students in Grade XI of Social Science Program of BCD Senior Secondary School

    The Influence of Practice Method on Volleyball Normal Smash Ability Viewed From Leg Muscle Power

    Background, students sport achievement in volleyball achievement development activity is not maximum nowadays. This can be proved from volleyball competition result that had been followed by them have not shown satisfying result.This research means to (1) Examine the difference of the influence of part whole part and whole part whole practice method on volleyball achievement development student, (2) Examine the difference of leg muscle on normal smash of volleyball achievement development student, (3) Examine the influence of interaction between practice method and leg muscle power to normal smash ability of volleyball achievement development student. This research is experimental research that means to compare two different treatments to research subject. The research used experimental method with 2x2 factorial design. The sample are 32 using probability sampling technique. Independent variable is part whole part and whole part whole practice method. Attributive variable is high leg muscle power and low leg muscle power. Dependent variable is volleyball smash ability. Data collection techniques in this research are pretest and posttest. Data analysis technique used is Varians analysis (ANAVA). Population in this research is student in volleyball achievement development activity Sebelas Maret University. The Result of this research that student group is given whole part whole practice method have better result compared with student group that is given part whole part practice one (104,37 ˃ 81,75) toward volleyball smash result. In student group having high leg muscle power has better result compared with student group having low leg muscle (112.31>70.87) toward volleyball smash result. There is interaction between practice method and leg muscle power toward volleyball smash result. The Conclusions of this research, there is different influence between volleyball smash practice using part whole part and whole part whole practice method toward volleyball smash result. Furthermore, there is different influence between sample group with high level of leg muscle power and low level of leg muscle power toward volleyball smash result. Last, there is interaction influence between leg muscle power and practice method to volleyball smash result

    A COMPARISON OF THE EFFECTS OF GENDER, ACTIVE RECOVERY AND COLD BATH METHODS ON LACTIC ACID LEVELS

    This study aims to determine: (1) The difference effect of active recovery and cold bath to lactic acid levels. (2) The difference of lactic acid levels between men and women. (3) The effect of the interaction between recovery method (active recovery and cold bath) and gender of the lactic acid levels after the maximum exercise. The research is using experimental methods research factorial design 2 x 2. The exercise maximum award is 400 m sprint. The population in this study is composed by a number of 32 volleyball athletes, consisting of 16 male and 16 female athletes. Groups of men and women were divided into two groups, each group consisting of 8 people. Each member of the group will be given exercises with maximum intensity of 400 m. After sprint exercise maximum intensity samples were then measured, the levels of lactic acid in the blood (pretest). Next,  do recovery method that is active recovery for 20 minutes and the cold bath for 20 minutes with a temperature of 150C- 100C in the group of men and women. After 20 minutes, the samples are re-measured for the blood lactic acid levels (posttest). The analysis technique of the data in this study is Two Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA Two-Way).             The results showed that: (1) There is a significant difference between the active recovery and cold bath  of lactic acid levels, which gained F(o) at 45.96 and the value of p = .00 (P <.05). Better cold bath method with an average value reducing in lactic acid levels by 4.63 mM/L compared to active methods of recovery with the average value reducing levels of lactic acid of 3.50 mM/L. (2) There is a difference in lactic acid levels between men and women, which gained F(o) at 14.18 and the value of p = .00 (P <.05). Men are more rapid of reduction lactic acid levels with an average value reducing levels of lactic acid at 4.38 mM/L compared to women with an average value reducing lactic acid levels at 3.06 mM/L. (3) There is no significant interaction effect between recovery method and sex, which gained F(o) at .16 and .41 p = (P>.05). (1) There are differences between the effects of active recovery method and a cold bath to the reduction in blood lactic acid levels. The effect of cold bath method is better than the active recovery method in lowering levels of blood lactic acid. (2) There are differences in blood lactic acid levels between men and women. The reduction in lactic acid levels in men is faster than women. (3) There is no interaction effect between recovery methods and sex against lactic acid levels. Both groups of men and women have a reduction in blood lactic acid levels that are higher with cold bath recovery methods.  Article visualizations

    Leveling entrepreneurial skills of vocational secondary school students in Indonesia: impact of demographic characteristics

    Context: This article aims to determine the entrepreneurial skills of Vocational Secondary School students after the implementation of a new curriculum that promotes entrepreneurship courses in Indonesia. The authors believe that after taking such courses, students will be able to generate entrepreneurial skills. This study also explores the effect of demographic characteristics on students\u27 entrepreneurship skills level, especially with respect to gender, school, and family. Approach: This study used a quantitative approach, with data collected through a questionnaire with five variables, that is, leadership, reflective communication, risk-taking, creatively innovative, and future orientation. Data were collected from 463 students who had taken entrepreneurship subjects that were chosen randomly. Data were analyzed using linear regression. Findings: 52.22% of our respondents had a moderate score for entrepreneurial skills, this is not in accordance with the expected learning outcomes, there are students who have entrepreneurial skills at a high level. With respect to creative innovation, in particular, a majority (53.15%) had a low score and 4.1% had a very low score. Moreover, family had a significant and positive effect on all dependent variables (leadership scores, reflective communication scores, risk-taking scores, creatively innovative scores, future orientation scores, and overall entrepreneurial skills scores). School demographic characteristics had a significant positive effect on the value of future orientation. These results indicate that private schools tend to strengthen the level of reflective communicative scores. Conclusion: The entrepreneurial skills of most vocational students are middling. This indicates that entrepreneurship subjects at Vocational Secondary schools have not been able to achieve their expected learning outcomes or help students develop entrepreneurial skills at a high level. Thus, further research is needed to determine the causes behind the problem.     PHYSICAL ACTIVITY OF PRIMITIVE SOCIETY IN JAMBI, INDONESIA

    This study aims to (1) reveal the phenomenon of physical activity of primitive society in their daily life, (2) understand which physical activities have the element to improve physical performance, (3) understand which physical activities have the element of motor skills. The subject of the study is physical activity conducted by primitive society of Suku Anak Dalam in Jambi, Sumatera, Indonesia. This study uses descriptive qualitative method with phenomenology approach. Level of confidence is tested by using data triangulation from the informants who are considered to understand the primitive society Suku Anak Dalam’s life structure. The analysis in this study is conducted within five stages, which are: (1) data reduction, (2) data display, (3) conclusion drawing, (4) validity result improvement and (5) narrative analysis result. The result of study shows that: (1) there is physical activity conducted by Suku Anak Dalam people as part of survival activity in the jungle, (2) there is physical activity which has the element of physical performance, (3) there is physical activity which has the element of motor skills.  Article visualizations

    Dampak Sertifikasi Guru terhadap Peningkatan Kualitas Pembelajaran Peserta Didik

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji dampak sertifikasi guru terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran. Secara lebih rinci tujuan tersebut diuraikan sebagai berikut : 1) mengkaji kondisi akademik guru yang telah mendapatkan sertifikat pendidik, khususnya implementasi kompetensi pedagogik dan profesi mereka dalam kaitannya dengan proses pembelajaran, 2) upaya guru untuk mempertahankan sertifikat pendidik yang telah dimiliki, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional, dan 3) dampak sertifikasi guru terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas. Penelitian yang mengambil lokasi di eks Karesidenan Surakarta ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed method dengan memanfaatkan hasil penelitian kualitatif untuk mendisain pendekatan kuantitatifnya. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling untuk pendekatan kuantitatif, sedangkan criterion-based selection digunakan pada saat melakukan penelitian kualitatif. Informan dan sampel yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah 96 orang guru bersertifikasi, 74 guru yang belum bersertifikasi dan 17 kepala sekolah serta 424 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview), observasi, dokumentasi dan kuesioner. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis interaktif dan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) hanya 37% dari guru bersertifikasi yang dapat menyampaikan materi dengan jelas, kemampuan pemanfaatan media dan teknologi pembelajaran, kemampuan mengikuti perkembangan iptek dan inovasi pembelajaran serta pengembangan keprofesian berkelanjutan masih perlu ditingkatkan; 2) diskusi antar sejawat yang mengampu mata pelajaran sama merupakan upaya yang paling diminati untuk mempertahankan profesionalitasnya; 3) guru bersertifikasi belum menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas secara signifikan. Hal ini antara lain diindikasikan oleh kemampuan menjelaskan materi yang masih kurang, masih kurangnya kemampuan memanfaatkan teknologi pembelajaran (sekitar 25% dinyatakan kurang sampai cukup) dan 20% guru berindikasi kurang memperhatikan keadaan siswa secara individual. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi kepada pemerintah daerah dalam mengembangkan keprofesian berkelanjutan (continuing professional development), bagi para guru pasca sertifikasi dan bahan pertimbangan bagi pemerintah pusat dalam mengembangkan kebijakan yang terkait dengan kesejahteraan guru Indonesia
