    Total Electron Content (TEC) is one of the physical quantities that can be derived from global positioning system (GPS) data and provides an indication of ionospheric variability. TEC variations have significant effects on radio communications, applications involving navigational systems, GPS surveying and space weather. In order to understand these effects, there is a need to develop forecasting techniques. Several ionospheric models have been developed to predict the ionospheric variability at different locations of the world. However, due to the scarcity of data in the equatorial region, the models do not give accurate forecasting of the ionospheric variability over Malaysia region. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the possibilities for the modeling of TEC values derived from the GPS Ionospheric Scintillation and TEC Monitor (GISTM) receiver using feed forward neural network (NN). It also aims to investigate the TEC forecasting method for radio wave propagation value during both equinox and solstices periods. Two GISTM locations at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, 2�550 N, 101�460 E and National Observatory Langkawi, Kedah 6�190 N, 99�50 E are identified and used in the development of an input space and NN design for the model. GPS TEC data measurement from 2011 to 2015 was selected to perform regional TEC modelling over Peninsular Malaysia, which is ascending solar cycle on solar cycle 24. TEC values and the factors that influence its variability as dependent and independent variable respectively, the capabilities of NN for TEC modelling were investigated. For this purpose, TEC was modelled as a function of seasonal variation (day number), diurnal variation (hour) and solar activity (sunspot number). The TEC data was forecasted in the seasonal, diurnal and hourly variations. An analysis was made by comparing the TEC value from the neural network prediction with real TEC and the TEC from the recent version of the International Reference Ionosphere model (IRI-2012). The maximum value in the seasonal variation was observed in June solstices with 88% and the minimum in the September equinox, 83%. Results showed that the NN model can predict the TEC with a maximum accuracy of 86% compared with the IRI-2012 model by 58% during equinoxes and solstices periods. In conclusion, NN model has a potentially effective method with a higher performance of TEC prediction in the Malaysian region compared to the IRI-2012 model. The forecasted value is useful to radio operators in order to know the condition of the ionosphere in advance, especially during disturbed ionospheric condition.     Persaingan pendidikan yang semakin kompetitif menumbuhkan peningkatan pelayanan kursus privat di Indonesia. Kebutuhan siswa akan pelayanan yang lebih dari memuaskan, membuat penyedia kursus privat meningkatkan pelayanannya, yang dapat dijelaskan dalam lima faktor kepuasan konsumen, yaitu bukti fisik, kehandalan, daya tanggap,  jaminan, dan empati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh faktor kualitas layanan terhadap kepuasan konsumen kursus privat dimana variabel independen yaitu bukti fisik (X1), kehandalan (X2), daya tanggap (X3), jaminan (X4), dan empati (X5) dengan variabel dependen yaitu kepuasan konsumen (Y). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Kemala Bhayangkari yang pada saat dilakukan penelitian sedang mengikuti kursus privat. Dari jumlah populasi sebanyak 190 siswa, diambil sampel sebanyak 127 siswa dengan menggunakan teknik penelitian non probability sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial dan simultan faktor kualitas layanan berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan konsumen kursus privat pada siswa SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Surabaya

    AbstractThis paper presents the relationship between integrity dimensions of prevention, accountability, enforcement and employees’ job conduct. It was revealed that enforcement made significant contribution, in explaining employees’ job conduct in comparison to prevention and accountability. Hence, it can be concluded that the enforcement of rules, regulations and procedures affect the employees’ job conduct more in comparison to prevention and accountability. Further, the study also reveals that religious orientation correlates with employees’ behaviour at work. This paper concludes with recommendations and direction for future research

    Total electron content forecasting using artificial neural network

    Space weather forecasting and its importance for the power and communication industry have inspired research related to TEC forecasting lately. Research has attempted to establish an empirical model approach for TEC prediction. In this paper, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have been applied in total electron content using GPS Ionospheric Scintillation and TEC Monitor (GISTM) data from UKM Station. The TEC prediction will be useful in improving the quality of current GNSS applications, such as in automobiles, road mapping, location-based advertising, personal navigation or logistics. Hence, a neural network model was designed with relevant features and customised parameters. Various types of input data and data representations from the ionospheric activity were used for the chosen network structure, which was a three-layer perceptron trained by feed forward back propagation method and tested on the chosen test data. We found that the optimum RMSE occurred with 10 nodes as the best NN for GISTM UKM station for the studied period with RMSE 1.3457 TECU. An analysis was made to compare the TEC from the measured TEC with neural network prediction and from IRI-corr model. The results showed that the NN model forecast the TEC values close to the measured TEC values with 9.96% of relative error. Thus, the forecasting of total electron content has the potential to be implemented successfully with larger data set from multi-centred environment

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pelayanan Pengurusan Surat Keterangan Sehat Jiwa Di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Tampan Provinsi Riau serta mengetahui hambatan-hambatan dalam pelayanan Pengurusan Surat Keterangan Sehat Jiwa Di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Tampan Provinsi Riau. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberi manfaat sebagai berikut : sumbangan pikiran dalam rangka mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan khususnya dibidang ilmu sosial dan politik serta acuan untuk meningkatkan pelayanan khususnya dalam Pengurusan Surat Keterangan Sehat Jiwa Di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Tampan Provinsi Riau. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Tampan Provinsi Riau melalui enam indikator berada pada katagori” Cukup Baik “dengan nilai 26 atau persentase 58%. Namun penulis menyarankan kepada pihak pegawai Rumah Sakit dalam Pengurusan Surat Keterangan Sehat Jiwa agar dapat meningkatkan pelayanan guna mencapai pelayanan yang lebih baik

    AbstractThis paper compares the impact of outcome-based education (OBE) structure and aided technology based education with respect to students’ academic performance in terms of grade point average in comparison to conventional teaching-learning approach. The students’ examination results of Mei 2010, October 2010, April 2011 and September 2011 are used to compare the students’ academic performance respectively. The findings indicated that there is significant difference in the mean grade point average between OBE students with aided technology learning in comparison to non-OBE students. Mean grade point average for OBE cohorts is significantly higher than mean grade point average for non-OBE cohorts

    Comparative study of TEC for GISTM stations in the Peninsular Malaysia region for the period of January 2011 to December 2012

    Total Electron Content (TEC) is a fundamental and the most prevalent parameter that affects Global Positioning System (GPS) signals, leading to delays, poor signals or total loss of signals. The gradients in TEC are frequently associated with disturbance in the ionosphere which explains the space weather behavior and indirectly causes inefficient operations of ground and space based Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) applications. The role of TEC variability is constructive in space weather prediction as it allows GNSS users to minimize rangerate errors in achieving highly reliable measurements. This paper therefore presents an analysis of the diurnal and seasonal activity dependence of TEC using data obtained from the GPS Ionospheric Scintillation and TEC Monitor (GISTM) at two stations in Peninsular Malaysia which are located at the Langkawi National Observatory, Langkawi, LGKW (06_19’N, 99_51’E) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKM (02_55’N, 101_46’E). Data for the two years (2011 and 2012), were recorded using the NovAtel GSV 4004B GISTM model equipment. Further investigations on a few more stations in the coast of Peninsular Malaysia will strengthen and consolidate the findings of this study

    Perbedaan Umpan Terhadap Hasil Tangkapan Udang Galah (Macrobracrium Idea) Alat Tangkap Bubu Bambu (Icir) Di Perairan Rawapening

    Bubu yaitu alat penangkapan seperti perangkap, yang merupakan jebakan bagi ikan maupun hasil tangkapan lainnya. Alat tangkap bubu dikenal umum dikalangan nelayan, yang dioperasikan secara pasif. Penggunaan umpan yang efektif akan dapat memberikan hasil tangkapan yang baik. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh perbedaan jenis umpan (ikan asin, kepala ikan segar dan umpan bekatul (Kontrol)) terhadap jumlah, berat hasil tangkapan udang galah (Macrobracrium idea). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental fishing) yaitu observasi dibawah kondisi buatan dan diatur oleh peneliti, dengan 1 variabel yaitu jenis umpan dengan 2 perlakuan dan 1 perlakuan sebagai kontrol. Masing-masing dilakukan dengan 9 kali ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan uji Kenormalan data dan uji ANOVA dengan SPSS 17.0. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menunjukan bahwa umpan dari ikan asin sebanyak 1226 ekor (39%) lebih banyak mendapatkan hasil tangkapan udang galah (Macrobrachium idae) dari pada umpan bekatul (kontrol) sebanyak 1002 ekor (32%) dan umpan kepala ikan segar sebanyak 935 ekor (29%) yang mendapatkan hasil tangkapan udang galah (Macrobrachium idae) lebih sedikit.
