In Japan todya, handicapped child and elderly people are cared for by a public institution, a family, and close relatives. This fact is generally known well. This paper aims at analyzing this theoretically. We can explain this fact as follows. (1) In Japanese society, the boundary of \u27uchi\u27 and \u27soto\u27 is very clear. (2) This boundary spreads in a certain case, and it becomes narrower in another case, according to the focus of people\u27s concern. (3) Since special intimacy is called for in the care accompanied by the body touch, the boundary of \u27uchi\u27 and \u27soto\u27 is limited very narrowly. (4) Close neighborhood and relatives belong to neither \u27uchi\u27 not \u27soto\u27, so they are usually to be exempted from the role of care. (5) This reason is that the relationship between them and care receivers who belong to \u27uchi\u27 is characterized with incomplete intimacy and embarrassment
