    A new image-based real-time flame detection method using color analysis

    [[abstract]]A new image-based real-time flame detection method is proposed in this paper. First, fire flame features based on the HSI color model are extracted by analyzing 70 flame images. Then, based on these flame features, regions with fire-like colors are roughly separated from an image. Besides segmenting fire flame regions, background objects with similar fire colors or caused by color shift resulted from the reflection of fire flames are also separated from the image. In order to get rid of these spurious fire-like regions, the image difference method and the invented color masking technique are applied. Finally, a simple method is devised to estimate the burning degree of fire flames so that users could be informed with a proper warning alarm. The proposed method is tested with seven diverse fire flame video clips on a Pentium II 350 processor with 128 MB RAM at the process speed of thirty frames per second. The experimental results are quite encouraging. The proposed method can achieve more than 96.97% detection rate on average.     Driver fatigue detection based on eye tracking and dynamic template matching

    [[abstract]]A vision-based real-time driver fatigue detection system is proposed for driving safely. The driver's face is located, from color images captured in a car, by using the characteristic of skin colors. Then, edge detection is used to locate the regions of eyes. In addition to being used as the dynamic templates for eye tracking in the next frame, the obtained eyes' images are also used for fatigue detection in order to generate some warning alarms for driving safety. The system is tested on a Pentium III 550 CPU with 128 MB RAM. The experiment results seem quite encouraging and promising. The system can reach 20 frames per second for eye tracking, and the average correct rate for eye location and tracking can achieve 99.1% on four test videos.     Efficiently locating vehicle license plates based on vertical line detection

    [[abstract]]A fast method for locating vehicle license plates is proposed in this paper. This approach is primarily based on the observations that the intensity contrast between license plate background color and symbol color is high and that symbol edges are clustered in the plate area. A simple edge detection method based on first derivatives is applied to a car image such that the binary image containing only vertical edges is obtained. Then possible plate regions could be located from the horizontal and vertical projections of the binary image. No preprocessing, such as image enhancement and noise filtering, is required. In addition to its simplicity and fastness, the proposed method is less sensitive to illumination changes of the plate. The proposed method was experimented with 117 diverse car images on a Pentium-133 processor.     软光刻法制备具有表面微结构的角蛋白膜

    近年来,使用微纳米制造工艺将蛋白质或多肽进行高精度空间图案化,推动了细胞生物学、组织工程学、药物科学等领域的发展.同时,羊毛角蛋白作为一种储量大的天然生物蛋白质,具有优异的水溶性、良好的生物相容性和可控的降解性,但羊毛角蛋白通常不能自组装形成凝胶网络或其他不溶形式,因此,使用羊毛角蛋白制备如纤维、薄膜、凝胶等的成型结构存在很大困难.本工作通过使用化学修饰的方法,在角蛋白上接枝功能基团,使角蛋白获得光敏感性,探究了共价交联法制备具有表面微结构角蛋白膜的可行性.并用3D激光扫描显微镜、紫外可见近红外光谱仪和傅里叶变换显微红外光谱仪对薄膜结构进行了表征.结果表明,使用软光刻法可以得到表面微结构完整度很高的角蛋白膜.本工作对羊毛角蛋白共价交联法进行了实验探索,实验结果不仅为人们提供了一种软光刻技术制备具有表面微结构的角蛋白膜的方法,而且为羊毛角蛋白制备成型结构提供了新的途径.国家自然科学基金(Nos.21771150,21401154,U1405226)111计划(No.B16029)广东省自然科学基金(No.2014A030310005)中央高校基本业务费(No.20720170011)资助~

    抗SARS-CoV N蛋白单克隆抗体的特异性及其识别抗原表位的初步鉴定

    为了明确抗SARS-CoVN蛋白单克隆抗体的特异性,并鉴定其识别表位,首先在E.coli中表达了人类冠状病毒229E(HCoV-229E)和OC43(HCoV-OC4)N蛋白,用Westernblotting和间接免疫荧光方法分别检测了4株抗SARS-CoVN蛋白单克隆抗体(1-1C2、1-1D6、2-8F11和2-2E5)与HCoV-OC43和HCoV-229E及其N蛋白的交叉反应情况,而后应用12种重组截短型SARS-CoVN蛋白对上述4种单克隆抗体的识别表位进行了初步定位。结果显示:(1)在4株抗N蛋白单克隆抗体中,1-1C2、1-1D6和2-2E5不与HCoV-OC43和HCoV-229E及其N蛋白发生交叉反应,为SARS-CoVN蛋白特异性抗体;(2)2-8F11、1-1D6和2-2E5针对的抗原表位位于SARS-CoVN蛋白的aa30-60,1-1C2针对的抗原表位则位于SARS-CoVN蛋白的aa170-184。这一研究为阐明SARS-CoVN蛋白的免疫学特征,建立特异性免疫诊断技术和研究其致病机制提供了必要的依据和材料

    NMR studies on interactions between diperoxovanadate complexes and 1-methylimidazole

    To understand the effects of organic ligands of the diperoxovanadate complexes on the reaction equilibrium, the interactions between a series of diperoxovanadate complexes [OV(O-2)(2)LL '](n-) [n=1 similar to 3; LL '=oxalate, abbr. oxa; picolinate, abbr. pic; 2,2 '-bipyridine, abbr. bipy; and 1,10-phenanthroline, abbr. phen. The corresponding peroxovanadate species abbreviate bpV(oxa), bpV(pic), bpV(bipy), and bpV(phen)] and I-methylimidazole (abbr. N-Me-Im) in solution were explored using multinuclear (H-1, C-13, and V-51) magnetic resonance, COSY, and variable temperature NMR in 0.15 mol/L NaCl ionic medium for mimicking the physiological conditions. The experimental results indicated the activity order of these four complexes with I-methylimidazole as follows: bpV(oxa)> bpV(pic)> bpV(bipy)> bpV(phen). Both the coordinating capability and the steric effect of the organic ligands affect the reaction equilibrium.     人们对于在常温常压条件下尤其是溶液环境中俘获或者操控微观粒子的追求从未停止,以期不断减少可操控的微观粒子的尺寸,最终实现单分子操控的目标。化学化工学院田中群教授和洪文晶教授团队合作,利用等离激元光学纳米间隙实现单分子的直接捕获与释放。该工作由化学化工学院田中群教授、洪文晶教授以及萨本栋微米纳米科学技术研究院杨扬副教授共同指导,由化学化工学院已毕业博士生战超提出思路并设计实验、与萨本栋微米纳米研究院已毕业硕士生王干共同完成主要实验工作,已毕业博士生易骏完成理论模拟工作。魏珺颖硕士、博士生李之豪、陈招斌高工和师佳副教授参与了部分研究和课题讨论。【Abstract】The volume of the object that can be manipulated in solution is continuously decreasing toward an ultimate goal of a single molecule. However, Brownian motions suppress the molecular trapping. To date, free-molecule trapping in solution has not been accomplished. Here, we develop a strategy to directly trap, investigate, and release single molecules (∼2 nm) in solution by using an adjustable plasmonic optical nanogap, which has been further applied for selective single-molecule trapping. Comprehensive experiments and theoretical simulations demonstrated that the trapping force originated from plasmonic nanomaterials.
