    <Original Papers>Study on the Comparison between Sinter and Pellets with respect to the Slag Matrix and the Properties at High Temperature

    For the purposes of comparative study of the properties at high temperature between sinter and pellets, three kinds of pellet, A, B and C, were prepared. The self-fluxing sinter made with an experimental sintering pot was ground to under 100 mesh and the ground material was indurated with a firing pot in the form of pellets (referred to as Pellet A). The sorts of ores from which the sinter are made were also ground and indurated to obtain pellet (Pellet B). Pellet C, an acid pellet, was made from the same sorts of ores as Pellets B except for limestone is removed. A series of tests, by including softening under load, softening and melting point, swelling mineralogical observation and melting point, swelling point, swelling, mineralogical observation and EPMA analysis, etc., was carried out on Pellets A, B and C. Silicate slag bonding was found by mineralogical observation for Pellets A as well as the original self-fluxing sinter and calcium-ferrite bonding was observed on Pellet B. Both the degree of shrinkage and the pressure increase in the test of softening under load is small for pellet A as compared to Pellets B. Improvement of the properties of softening under load for the self-fluxing pellet is considered to be in the direction to get the similar slag matrix for the self-fluxing sinter by adding a small amount of reducing agent

    塩害地でイネ、タマネギを栽培する場合、育苗中の土壌塩分が其の後の生育収量に及ぼす影響について試験を行いつぎに要約する結果を得た。1) イネにおいては育苗中の土壌塩分は其後の生育収量に影響を及ぼさなかった。2) タマネギの場合における塩分地育苗の効果は明らかであった。しかし太苗を使用した場合は抽苔が多く認められたので育苗中の管理に十分な配慮をする必要性が認められた
