Simulation experiments of the electric structure in a thunder cloud
Simulation experiments for examining the electric structure in a thunder cloud are carried.An apparatus of the experiments consists of the prastic resin channel and light vesicated beasts of polystilene. A surface potential meter is used for measurement of the charges. It is found from the simulation experiments that the potential distribution of the channel has a positive charge region at the low position of it and a negative region at the middel position and the charge distribution of the beases is very similar to that of real thunder cloud.雷雲の中の電気的構造を調べるためにシミュレーション実験を行った。この実験の装置はプラスチックのチャンネルと発泡スチロールの軽い玉からなっている。電荷の測定には表面電位計を用いた。このシミュレーション実験からこのチャンネルの電荷分布は下部が正電荷であり,中程は負電荷を持つ,そしてこのチャンネルの電荷分布は実際の雷雲の分布と非常に似ていることが分かった

applicationSiC whisker reinforced Al-Mg-Si alloy composites produced by powder method were extruded at 600℃ by varying angle of dying, and extrudability and mechanical properties of extruded rods were examined. The following results were obtained. (1) Extrusion pressure was lower when the angle of dying was 75 degree. When SiC whisker contents increased, the extrusion pressure was higher. (2) The mechanical properties of the extruded rods were more improved with the increase in SiC whisker contents. (3) The extruded rod of this alloy showed cyclic fibrous structure, and the planes having high degree of texture were (100) [031].departmental bulletin pape
低炭素鋼の機械的性質と組織に及ぼす浸炭硬化処理の影響
applicationThe low carbon steels (S15CK) were carburized by pack carburizing, and then these steels were heat-treated for primary quenching and secondary quenching. The transformation of the mechanical properties and the microstructures with varing carburized depth and hardening processes were investigated. The strength properties were improved with increasing caburized depth, but the elongation and the reduction of area were decreased markedly as quenched into water and oil in secondary quenching. In the carburizing of 5 hours the maximum hardness of the case was seven times the hardness of material as quenched into water in secondary quenching. In the test piece for tensile test quenched into water and oil as secondary quenching the quasi-cleavage fracture was observed.departmental bulletin pape

applicationAl-Mg-Si alloys which have various Zr contents were extruded under various reduction ratios. And Extrudability and texture of extruded plates were examined. The following results were obtained. (1) The texture developed on the surface of extruded plate is (110) 〔112〕 at low extrusion ratios and is (100) 〔001〕 at high extrusion ratios. (2) When Zr is not contained, extruded plate has no texture both on the surface and in the center at 600℃ extrusion but when the plate contains Zr the surface has (110) 〔112〕 and the center has (113) 〔211〕.
