Gene Detection in DNA Sequences

Práce se zaobírá návrhem metody na predikci prokaryotických genů, která pak bude odzkoušená a prezentována na genome Escherichie coli. Jednotlivé kapitoly postupně pojednávají o problematice spojené s tímto návrhem, stručným úvodem do molekulární biologie začínajíc, představením použí-vaných metod detekce respektive predikce genů pokračujíc, až samotným návrhem metody založené především na pozičně specifických maticích končíc.The main goal of this work is to create a method for gene prediction in prokaryotic genomes, which will be later demonstrated and tested on Escherichia coli. The first chapter contains a short introduc-tion into molecular biology. In the second one, we take a closer look on current methods of gene de-tection and prediction and the work ends with an application of acquired knowledge on gene predic-tion mostly using position weight matrices.

Online Journalism: Current Trends and Challenges

In the past 25 years, the journalistic sphere has gone through radical changes and transformations, progressively adapting to the contemporary global trends in news‐making. Traditional understanding of journalism as a profession has changed significantly, mostly due to the fact that digital media environment has brought new opportunities but also challenges related to the journalistic practice. The text aims to offer a theoretical reflection on the issue of online journalism. At the same time, the chapter discusses specific forms of Internet‐delivered journalistic production and professional requirements placed on journalists who specialise in online news‐making, taking into consideration the current development tendencies of digital communication forms. The authors work with a basic assumption that many aspects related to form and content of online news need to be discussed in the light of much needed terminological and paradigmatic revisions related to both the general theory of journalism and our practical understanding of journalism as a continual, creative and highly professional, publicly performed activity

Rorty’s Humanism

There have been few attempts thus far to read Rorty through a humanistic lens. This paper is an attempt at making explicit some of the key features of his conception. My main objective is to show that humanism is integral to his philosophy and to explain what it consists in. I focus on Rorty’s secular humanism, which I believe lies at the center of his thought. In sections 2 and 3, I provide an account of key humanist sources, both pragmatist and non-pragmatist. Section 4 examines recent interpretations of Rorty as a humanist. In section 5, I focus on the distinction between the human and nonhuman as the central feature of his humanism. Section 6 outlines Rorty’s project to humanize humanity. Táto práca sa zaoberá teoretickými aj praktickými aspektami obchodovania na devízových trhoch a snaží sa vytvoriť podrobný popis obchodnej stratégie optimalizovanej na konkrétne menové páry. Hlavným cieľom tejto práce je návrh obchodnej stratégie založenej na technickej analýze obchodovanej do trendu. Dôležitou časťou práce je návrh vhodnej optimalizácie vybraných parametrov stratégie s cieľom maximalizácie zisku a stability a nakoniec porovnanie a vyhodnotenie výsledkov pred a po optimalizácii.This thesis deals with theoretical and practical aspects of trading on financial markets and tries to create detailed description of trading strategy optimized for specific trading pairs. The main goal of this thesis is to design trading strategy based on technical analysis traded with trend. Important part of the thesis is to design suitable optimization of chosen parameters with purpose of maximizing profit and stability and lastly, comparison and evaluation of the results before and after optimization.

Quadratic-in-magnetization permittivity and conductivity tensor in cubic crystals

We present diagonal and off-diagonal elements of the permittivity and conductivity tensor up to the second order in magnetization for cubic crystals. We express all tensor elements as a function of a general sample orientation, for arbitrary magnetization direction and for (001), (011) and (111) surface orientations. Finally, we discuss, how to extract values of quadratic elements G of the second order permittivity tensors for different sample surface orientations from both experiment and ab-initio calculations
