The present state of knowledge regarding the Moravian Painted Ware culture fortified settlement at Hluboké Mašůvky (Znojmo district)
Despite its special place in the awareness of the professional public and in the literature, the oft-investigated Neolitic site at Hluboké Mašůvky-"Nivky" has still not been processed as a whole. The information available come s from a range of finds reports, some published, studies bosth large and small and above all the major finds assemblage of the "Vildomec collection" and the National Museum in Prague. The field excavation methods of the pre-war period, with no detailed general plan of all the investigated features and areas, and a lack of systematic stripping within the fortified area, have resulted in imprecise information that must be reviewed. This paper takes on this challenge, employing the results of rescue excavations undertaken on the site in 2003 by the Institute for the Archaeological Heritage, Brno
Die spätlatènezeitliche Tier- und Menschdarstellung aus Mähren
This work aims at sketching every human or animal figuration found in the Late Latène sites in Moravia. Figures on the Celtic golden or silver coins have been left aside, since they deserve a special study. 22 cases are taken into account, 21 of which were bronze products ; in one case only we have an engraved ceramic. Most of these finds come from the oppidum of Staré Hradisko (14 pieces), a smaller group comes from lower settlements (5 pieces), from deposits (1 piece), and two statues are isolated finds without any clear provenience. Animal figurations are the most numerous (13 pieces), in fact, mammiferes and birds. These are, seven figurations, complete or fragmentary, which were used as hangers, and which picture domestic or wild animals (pig, goat, dog, duck, hind) ; in five other cases, ram heads have been attached to winding rings, or a duck head is attached to the end of a balance beam. The engraving of a crane on a ceramic vessel is an isolated case. Animal figurations are most probably witnessing to a Celtic local production, but the human figurations originate almost certainly from outside Moravia, and more precisely from the Italian area (up till now, 9 finds). The hangers representing hands, with the “ fica”, could be held to be local products, although they have been influenced, at least on the ideological level, by the Republican Roman culture. Neue Erkenntnisse zur Verzierung keltischer Waffen in Mähren
New data about ornamented Celtic weapons of Moravia in the 3rd century B.C.
Ornamented sword-scabbards are known only from three sites, as yet. There is an ornementation on the sheath from Kobylnice, on the upper part of the mouth ; the scabbards from Charváty and PonÄ›tovice are decorated with «dragon pairs» of the J.-M. De Navarro type III. During the restauration of the PonÄ›tovice exemplar, it was possible to precise the drawing. The upper part of the sword-blade from Slatinice, dating from the Middle La Tène period, have a quadrangular stamped mark which one cannot determine. In four cases (Brno-BrnÄ›nskĂ© Ivanovice, Brno-Maloměřice, Holubice, Nemilany), spear-sockets bear iron nails with relief ornamented bronze heads.
Neue Erkenntnisse zur Verzierung keltischer Waffen in Mähren. Analysis of real-time data of public transport vehicles
This thesis deals with analysis of real-time data of public transport vehicles over open data in Prague. Its main purpose is to create statistics and improve estimation, based on historical data, of a vehicle delay on its route between reference points. For demonstration of the computed data a front-end web app is created. This interactive app is able to show current vehicles locations over a map and other useful information. All components were tested. Open data from Prague public transport company were used to demonstrate that open data can be used for achieving high goals
