    Expression of nectin-4 as a potential biomarker in enzootic nasal adenocarcinoma of goats

    The aim of this study was to test nectin-4 by immunohistochemistry as a potential biomarker in enzootic nasal adenocarcinoma (ENA) of goats. Twentyfour archival ENA case samples [from 14 male and 10 female hair goats (Capra hircus)] were used. The samples were stained with haematoxylin and eosin (HE). Nectin-4 expression was studied by immunohistochemistry. By microscopy, tubular, papillary, and mixed patterns of ENA were diagnosed in the cases. Immunohistochemically, the tumours showed moderate nectin-4 expression (++) in 14 cases (58.3%), strong expression (+++) in five cases (20.8%), and weak expression (+) in three cases (12.5%), while two cases (8.3%) were negative. Normal nasal tissues were not stained with nectin-4. The results suggest that nectin-4 may be used as a valuable biomarker of ENA

    EDU-DRM: A Digital Rights Management (DRM) system for K-12 education

    The technological achievements in digital publishing have made paperless education possible even in K-12 education. Aside from high bandwidth distribution infrastructure, the main difficulties of digital publishing are preserving personal information and protecting the rights of copyrighted contents. Although specially designed Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems can be used to control distribution and usage of private and/or copyrighted contents in K-12 education, dealing with a large number of bursty concurrent access requests and changing the access rights of a large number of students from one content class to another at the end of each education period make the problem different from existing ones. This paper introduces a new DRM system, called EDU-DRM, which includes a novel bit based authorization approach to reduce the processing time for authorization requests and automatize the access right adjustments with predefined rules for K-12 education. During the study, an experimental framework is designed using Apache Bench to analyze the proposed approach and evaluate it.     AbstractThe Pre-import Inspection, Testing and Certification program became an important factor to get a market share in Iraq. Verification of Conformity (VoC) of products before shipment to Iraq was started in May 2011 by Iraqi government. The objectives of this program are; protection of consumers and environment, assurance of conformity, transparency in commercial activities and releasing goods faster at Iraqi customs with the appropriate certificate of conformity. After several months of preparation, today this program is being executed actively for countries all over the world that wants to export in Iraq. In this study, an analysis of Iraq's new pre-import inspection, testing and certification program is tried to determine by A’WOT hybrid multi-criteria method. A’WOT is a combination of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).     Investigation the Performance of Cr-Doped ZnO Nanocrystalline Thin Film in Photodiode Applications

    Undoped and Cr-doped zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films were deposited on the glass and p-Si substrates by the chemical spray pyrolysis technique. The films were characterized by x-ray diffractometry (XRD) and UV-visible spectrometry, and electrical characterization was achieved by using the films as an interfacial layer between the Au and p-Si. The XRD results confirmed the undoped and Cr-doped ZnO thin film crystalline structures. UV-visible spectra provided the transmittance plots and band gap energy values. I-V measurements were performed on the fabricated Au/ZnO/p-Si and Au/ZnO:Cr/p-Si devices to determine the effect of the ZnO interfacial layer on their performance. Various junction parameters, such as the ideality factor, barrier height, and series resistance, were calculated from the I-V measurements by various techniques, and have been discussed in detail. A 100-mW/cm(2) power intensity light was exposed on the Au/ZnO:Cr/p-Si device to see the photodiode behavior as well as to determine light sensitivity parameters such as photosensitivity and detectivity. The results highlight that the Au/ZnO:Cr/p-Si device can be thought of for optoelectronic application

Chart, graph and user-defined graph are among the output options that can be used. As a scientist or an engineer, you frequently measure physical changes such as temperature, pressure, time, mass, electric current, light intensity, radioactivity etc. You generally need to analyze and present the data.     The effects of servicescape on the emotional states and behavioural responses of hotel guests

    The aim of this paper is to reveal the influence of servicescape of hotel businesses on the emotional states and behavioural responses of guests. Data collected from 211 participants, was tested by using Regression Analysis to determine the interaction among identified variables (servicescape, emotional states and behavioural responses). It was found that the servicescape component had a positive effect on behavioural responses, and emotional states of guests played a mediating role between servicescape and behavioural response components. It is important to determine what kind of emotional states along with the influence of servicescape result in behavioural changes in hotels. Hence, determining the emotional states that individuals experience in hotels will make it possible to design a servicescape by considering those emotional states

    Efficacy and safety of Sinovac vaccine administered in patients undergoing hemodialysis

    Introduction: COVİD-19 disease is more serious and fatal in patients on dialysis treatment due to their immunosuppressive status. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the protection and safety of Sinovac vaccine, which is an inactivated vaccine, in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Methodology: A control group consisting of 220 hemodialysis patients (HD group) and 648 healthcare professionals who were healthy in our institution were included in the study. Quant II IgG anti-Spike antibody was measured 3 weeks after two doses of Sinovac vaccine were administered to both groups. Results: The antibody response after two doses of Sinovac vaccine was 85.2% in the HD group and 99.8% in the control group. The mean antibody level before vaccination in the HD group was 3.5 ± 7.2 AU/mL and increased significantly 3 weeks after two doses of vaccine (mean 751 ± 1196 AU/mL). The control group’s mean antibody level after vaccination was 1723 ± 1878 AU/mL. The mean antibody level after vaccination in the control group was significantly higher than the HD group (p < 0.0001). Despite higher levels of anti-Spike antibodies in the control group, post-vaccination antibody response was acceptable in both HD and control groups. The HD group was significantly older (mean 64 ± 12 years) than the control group (36 ± 10 years) (p < 0.0001). Conclusions: Although dialysis patients are immunocompromised, and some may not develop antibodies to the virus as strongly as healthy people, this study revealed that dialysis patients developed significant amounts of antibodies. Being old or on dialysis is an independent predictor of low antibody response to the Sinovac vaccine

Although true incidence of venous air embolism is not known, in literature most of reported cases are belongs to sitting position craniotomies. Many of those are subclinical, and diagnostic methods have varying degrees of sensitivity and specificity. At time of suspicion, prevention of any subsequent air emboli is the cornerstone of treatment

    Are grafts necessary in rhinoplasty? cartilage flaps with cartilage-saving rhinoplasty concept

    Cartilage grafts are used routinely in rhinoplasty, but are they necessary? Can we support the normal anatomy by preserving and transposing the adjacent tissues? In this study we hypothesize that during rhinoplasty, cartilage flaps can give adequate support and may decrease the need for cartilage grafts. Included in this study were 147 patients who underwent an open rhinoplasty technique under general anesthesia between January 2010 and May 2012. Mean operative time was 73 min (range = 44-120 min). After dissection and septoplasty (if needed), we performed dorsal bone and septal reductions. Following reduction, upper lateral cartilage superior segments were preserved and turned inward as cartilage flaps to replace the spreader grafts. Lower lateral cartilage cranial parts were not excised and were slid over the caudal part to replace the alar strut grafts. Cartilage from the caudal nasal septum was not excised; instead, lower lateral cartilages were cephaloposteriorly displaced with a tongue-in-groove technique to support the nasal tip. Mean follow-up time was 19.6 months (6-30 months). All patients but 12 were satisfied or completely satisfied with the results. Among the 12 unsatisfied patients, four complained of a one-sided inverted-V deformity (secondary spreader grafts were added), three had supratip deformity (secondary additional dorsal septal excisions), two demanded extra tip definition (secondary tipoplasty), two were unhappy with the bone symmetry (secondary osteotomies), and one complained of hanging columella (secondary excision from the caudal septum). Cartilage flaps have some advantages over cartilage grafts. First, graft harvest is not needed in the former; second, because flaps are a part of the normal anatomy, they provide a good tissue match, making fixation easier. However, the tongue-in-groove technique cannot be used in patients who do not need caudal excision, and cartilage flaps can be inadequate in some patients who may need additional grafts.
