    La determinación de los hábitos de vida y el nivel de alfabetización e-Salud en adolescentes

    Objetivo O objetivo deste estudo é determinar os comportamentos de estilo de vida saudáveis e os níveis de letramento e-Saúde de adolescentes. Método Um desenho de pesquisa descritivo foi utilizado neste estudo. Foi realizado com um total de 390 alunos da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um formulário de informações pessoais, a Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale II e a e-Health Literacy Scale for Adolescents. Para a análise dos dados, foram utilizadas análises descritivas, teste t, variância, Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U e testes de correlação de Pearson. As aprovações necessárias foram obtidas para conduzir este estudo. Resultados O presente estudo constatou que o escore médio dos adolescentes da e-Health Literacy Scale foi de 27,51 e o escore médio da HLBS-II foram de 129,01. Uma relação positiva significativa foi encontrada entre o letramento e-Saúde e o comportamento de estilo de vida saudável em adolescentes. Conclusão Este estudo enfatiza a importância do letramento em e-Saúde no desenvolvimento de procedimentos de enfermagem que visam aumentar os comportamentos de estilo de vida saudáveis dos adolescentes.Objective The aim of this study is to determine the healthy lifestyle behaviors and e-health literacy levels of adolescents. Method A descriptive research design was used in this study. It was conducted with a total of 390 students in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The data were collected using a personal information form, the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale II and the e-Health Literacy Scale for Adolescents. For data analysis, descriptive analyses, t-test, variance, Kruskal-Wallis, the Mann-Whitney U and Pearson Correlation tests were used. Necessary approvals were obtained to conduct this study. Results The present study found that the e-Health Literacy Scale mean score of adolescents was 27.51 and their HLBS-II mean score was 129.01. A positive significant relationship was found between the e-health literacy and healthy lifestyle behavior in adolescents.     A case of Ross syndrome presented with Horner and chronic cough

    Ross syndrome is a rare sweating disorder associated with Adie’s tonic pupil, decreased or diminished tendon reflex and unknown etiology. Although autonomic disturbances affecting sudomotor and vasomotor functions are seen commonly, they are rarely symptomatic. While Ross syndrome is typically characterized with dilated tonic pupil, it may be rarely manifested with miotic pupils (little old Adie’s pupil), which can make diagnosis difficult.     Synthesis of urease hybrid nanoflowers and their enhanced catalytic properties

    Increasing numbers of materials have been extensively used as platforms for enzyme immobilization to enhance catalytic activity and stability. Although stability of enzyme was accomplished with immobilization approaches, activity of the most of the enzymes was declined after immobilization. Herein, we synthesize the flower shaped-hybrid nanomaterials called hybrid nanoflower (HNF) consisting of urease enzyme and copper ions (Cu2+) and report a mechanistic elucidation of enhancement in both activity and stability of the HNF. We demonstrated how experimental factors influence morphology of the HNF. We proved that the HNF (synthesized from 0.02 mg mL(-1) urease in 10 mM PBS (pH 7.4) at +4 degrees C) exhibited the highest catalytic activity of similar to 2000% and similar to 4000% when stored at +4 degrees C and RT, respectively compared to free urease. The highest stability was also achieved by this HNF by maintaining 96.3% and 90.28% of its initial activity within storage of 30 days at +4 degrees C and RT, respectively. This dramatically enhanced activity is attributed to high surface area, nanoscale-entrapped urease and favorable urease conformation of the HNF. The exceptional catalytic activity and stability properties of HNF can be taken advantage of to use it in fields of biomedicine and chemistry. (C) 2015 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved
