We present the exact analytical solution of the radial Schr\"{o}dinger equation for the deformed Hulth\'{e}n and the Morse potentials within the framework of the Asymptotic Iteration Method. The bound state energy eigenvalues and corresponding wave functions are obtained explicitly. Our results are in excellent agreement with the findings of the other methods.Comment: 13 pages and 2 table

This study considered pre-selected socio-economic indicators of the first 15 members of the European Union, subsequent 9 countries from East and Central Europe and Turkey, analyzing the situations of countries and variables according to one another and betraying the possible commonalities and disparities between them. Aiming at finding possible similarities and disparities between them selected social economic indicators from EUROSTAT (2005 data were used) is acquired and by using related variables the multidimensional scaling analysis is applied. As a result of the multidimensional scaling analysis the obtained stress value for the two-dimensional configuration was 0,18. The k=2 dimension the stress value explains the data in the rate of 0,85387. It is important to look at the inflation rate and gini coefficient first, when the objective is to investigate the development and welfare indicators of a country. According to distances between Countries, higher welfare and development level was demonstrated in the first 15 members of the European Union. In the second dimension, the distances between the countries of East-Central Europe that subsequently joined the Union and Turkey show that they have similar welfare and development level.Multidimensional Scaling, Social Economics Indicators, EUROSTAT

Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2002Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2002Çamaşır makinalarında tambur içerisinde çamaşırın düzgün dağılmaması nedeniyle ortaya çıkan dengesiz yük dağılımı merkezkaç bir etki oluşturmaktadır. The main source of vibration problems in washing machines is due to the centrifugal forces of the rotating unbalanced laundry. These centrifugal forces generate vibrations whose amplitudes increase with the rotational speed of the drum and reach a peak during the transient period from washing to spin-extraction. The use of magneto-rheological dampers in the drum suspension is considered here in place of the customarily used passive dampers to enhance vibration suppression. In this study, a MR damper model taken from the literature is used along with a linear single degree of freedom model of the suspension system of the washing machine. Performances of both passive and semi-active suspension system models of the washing machine regarding displacement amplitude and the vertically transmitted force are investigated first. After that, an open-loop semi-active control method is implemented on the linear single degree of freedom model of the suspension system including MR damper in place of viscous damper. Finally, active vibration control methods are applied to the passive suspension model and effectiveness of each control method in suppressing the vibrations created by unbalanced laundry is evaluated.Yüksek LisansM.Sc

The Impact of Human Brain Structure on Its Functional Connectomics in Health and Stroke Injury

    Get PDF
My doctoral work has addressed the anatomy-function relationship by illustrating 1) the unique topology of brain anatomy for biologically plausible functional connectome to exist, 2) a higher vulnerability of neuroanatomy against the genetic control for a brain hub region, whereas lower genetic influence on its functional fingerprints, and 3) a global functional plasticity following a local injury beyond its anatomical boundaries. All together, the work here has demonstrated the interplay between brains structure and function, as well as the impact of familial relatedness (heritability) on these measures

Modelling the relationship between water level and vertical displacements on the Yamula Dam, Turkey

    Get PDF
International audienceMonitoring deformation pattern of dams is often one of the most effective ways to understand their safety status. The main objective of the study is to find the extent to which rising reservoir level affects the mechanism of deformation of The Yamula Dam under certain change in the reservoir level conditions during to the first filling period. Three different deformation analysis techniques, namely static, kinematic and dynamic, were used to analyze four geodetic monitoring records consisting of vertical displacements of nine object points established on the Dam and six reference points surrounding of it, to see whether the rising reservoir level have a role in the vertical deformations during the first filling period. The largest vertical displacements were in the middle of the dam. There is an apparent linear relationship between the dam subsidence and the reservoir level. A dynamic deformation model was developed to model this situation. The model infers a causative relationship between the reservoir level and the dam deformations. The analysis of the results determines the degree of the correlation between the change in the reservoir level and the observed structural deformation of the dam
