Positioning Usage Features of Nurses Working in Internal Medicine Clinics

    No full text
Objectives:In recent years, innovations in health care services, increasing competition, increasing awareness of consumers necessitate being preferred.Being different and placing this phenomenon in the mind of a healthy/sick individual brings with it to be preferable and becoming a brand. For this reason, the service must be presented to the individual with concrete evidence and gain a position in the mind. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the positioning usage features of nurses working in internal medicine clinics. Materıals and Methods:This descriptive study was carried out in a university hospital in Trabzon between 01-28 February 2015.The study's population and sample consisted of 186 nurses working in internal medicine clinics, but the study was completed with 170 nurses. The data were collected using the "Personal Information Form" and the "Positioning Information Form".The results obtained in the study were evaluated as number, percentage and mean. Results:67.1% of nurses working in internal medicine clinics have undergraduate degrees, 84.1% are clinical nurses and the work period is 9.0 ± 7.3 years.86.5% of the nurses stated that they wanted to be remembered as "a nurse providing quality service by the patients" and 81.2% "took care to display positive behavior while presenting nursing service".It was determined that 77.6% of the nurses "strives to leave positive traces of the nursing service in the minds",71.2% of them "think about what should the community thinks about nursing care service" and 70.0% of them "try to put positive meanings in nursing services" Conclusion:This study provides basic evidence of the importance of identifying and improving the positioning features of nurses working in internal medicine clinics. However, further research is needed to assess the positioning of the nursing profession in our country and the positioning features of the nurse

Effect of Nano-sized B4C Addition on the Mechanical Properties of ZA27 Composites

    No full text
In order to understand the influence of nano-sized B4C additive on ZA27 alloy, mechanical and physical properties of ZA27-B4C nanocomposites were investigated in terms of B4C content. While physical properties were determined in terms of microstructural studies, density and porosity tests, mechanical properties were determined in terms of ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and hardness experiments. Morphological and microstructural studies were carried out with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The experimental results indicate that nano-sized B4C can be used to enhance the mechanical properties of ZA27 alloy effectively. The highest mechanical performance can be obtained at ZA27-0.5% B4C (in weight) nanocomposite with values of tensile strength (247 MPa) and hardness (141,18 BH) and low partial porosity (0.5%). After a pick point, increasing B4C ratio may cause the formation of agglomeration in grain boundaries, that's why density, tensile strength, and hardness values are declined

INVESTIGATION OF GRAPHITE NANO PARTICLE ADDITION ON THE PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ZA27 COMPOSITES

    No full text
The physical and mechanical properties of composites consisting of ZA27 alloy reinforced with nano-sized graphite particles were investigated with the main objective of understanding the effect of the nano particulate reinforcement. These properties were determined by measuring the density, hardness and tensile strength values. The microstructure of the ZA27-Graphite (Gr) nanocomposites was investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results indicated that density values of nano graphite added nanocomposites (GANs) decrease with increasing graphite rate while porosity ratio increases. Also the UTS and Brinell hardness values decreased with increasing graphite content

Novel ZA27/B4C/Graphite Hybrid Nanocomposite-Bearing Materials with Enhanced Wear and Corrosion Resistance

    No full text
In this study, nanosized B4C and graphite-reinforced ZA27 matrix hybrid nanocomposites were produced with mechanical milling followed by hot pressing. The friction coefficient values of nanocomposite samples remarkably decreased from 0.5036 (+/- 0.085) to 0.2575 (+/- 0.021) with the increase of milling time to 24 hours for nanocomposite powders. That was almost two times lower than those of unmilled nanocomposites. It was determined that the good distribution of reinforcement particles in the microstructure and low grain size allowed the formation of a protective oxide layer against corrosion. The corrosion resistance of the nanocomposite materials obtained from nanocomposite powders milled for 24 hours was quite superior to the others. The results revealed that the corrosion rate values were 29.068 and 4.033 mpy for hybrid nanocomposite samples produced from unmilled and milled powders for 24 hours, respectively

The Effect of Mechanical Milling on Graphite-Boron Carbide Hybrid Reinforced ZA27 Nanocomposites

The main focus of this study is concentrated on the effect of mechanical milling on graphite-boron carbide hybrid reinforced ZA27 nanocomposites. With this respect, nano-sized graphite (Gr) and boron carbide (C) reinforced ZA27 matrix nanocomposites were fabricated via a combination of mechanical milling (MM) and hot pressing techniques. MM method was used to produce a ZA27-based hybrid nanocomposite (ZHNC) that nano-sized additives dispersed homogenously in ZA27 matrix. Microstructural and mechanical properties of the nanocomposites were scrutinized as a function of milling time using X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, hardness and tensile testing machines. Results show that MM method can be utilized for homogeneously distributing the nano-sized additives. Flake-shape morphology negatively influences physical and mechanical properties. It was also found that grain and particle size is decreased after 12 h milling process. With increasing MM time, homogeneous microstructure of the nanocomposite bulk materials was obtained and subsequently their mechanical properties were improved considerably

Kocuria kristinae, a Rare Agent in Community-Acquired Infective Endocarditis: Two Case Reports

    No full text
Kocuria species are facultative, catalase-positive, coagulase-negative, gram-positive cocci belonging to family Micrococcaceae, suborder Micrococcineae, order Actinomycetales. Besides being widely distributed in nature, Kocuria spp are found in normal flora of the skin, mucous membrane and oropharaynx of human beings. In the literature, reported infections caused by Kocuria species are scanty. Among the etiologic agents of infective endocarditis, endocarditis due to Kocuria species is also very rarely reported. Here, we present two cases of community-acquired infective endocarditis with native valve involvement caused by Kocuria kristinae as the etiological agent
