By that we will achieve better management of user database.

    Trends in the Use of Wireless Fidelity on Campus among Undergraduates in Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto

    This study investigates the trends in the use of wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) on campus among undergraduates in Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS). Four objectives were formulated at the onset of this study. Survey research design was adopted, and simple random sampling technique was used to select three hundred and ninety-six (396) students as sample using questionnaire as instrument for data collection. It was found that undergraduate make use of wireless fidelity available to them basically for academic purposes. Amount of time students spend carrying textbooks is reducing drastically because of access to wide variety of materials on the internet through Wi-Fi. Also, abuse of the wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) for illicit purpose is low based on the findings of the study. It was also found that some students don’t have access to internet enabled devices. Usage of wireless fidelity has positively influenced the undergraduates’ academic performance. The students faced a lot of challenges such as power failure; low internet bandwidth; poor computer operating skills; unreliability of internet connection and small area coverage. Hence, the study concluded that there is a healthy usage of wireless fidelity on campus by undergraduates in the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. Thus, it was recommended among others, that management of UDUS should increase their broadband network in order to enable the students have free flow of information access on the internet

    ABSTRAKSI: Jaringan wireless merupakan cara yang paling mudah untuk membagi koneksi Internet. Teknologi Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) merupakan standar industri yang menyeragamkan semua sistem dan cara kerja dari perangkat-perangkat wireless LAN yang menggunakan standar teknis IEEE 802.11. Dengan adanya Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) maka pengguna dapat mengakses internet secara broadband. Kebutuhan akan koneksi Internet yang berkualitas semakin meningkat, maka infrastruktur untuk memperlebar distribusi Internet juga harus terus dibangun. Hotspot merupakan sebuah area atau tempat dengan koneksi jaringan wireless dimana pengguna dapat melakukan akses Internet maupun Intranet secara broadband menggunakan perangkat yang mendukung seperti Telepon Genggam, PDA, PC (Personal Computer), Laptop atau Notebook. Penempatan lokasi hotspot Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) merupakan hal yang penting dalam membagi koneksi Internet atau Intranet di dalam suatu area. Hal ini menjadi penting karena area jangkauan tidak akan berbentuk lapisan yang sempurna, sehingga kesalahan dalam penempatan lokasi akan menurunkan kinerja Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity). Dalam Tugas Akhir ini, akan dibahas tentang bagaimana merencanakan hotspot Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) yang baik sehingga pengguna mendapatkan kualitas akses Internet atau Intranet yang optimal. Lokasi perencanaan mengambil tempat di Gedung Rektorat Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Telkom.Kata Kunci : ABSTRACT: Wireless network is the easiest way to divide internet connection. Wi-Fi technology (Wireless Fidelity) representing industrial standard which uniform all system and way of wireless LAN peripherals using IEEE 802.11 technical standard. With existence of Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) hence consumer can access internet by broadband. Requirement of internet connection which with quality progressively mount, hence infrastructure to widen distribution of internet also have to continue to be build. Hotspot represent a place or area with wireless network connection where consumer can access internet and also intranet by broadband use supporting peripheral like Handphone, PDA, PC (Personal Computer), Laptop or Notebook. Location of hotspot Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) representing important thing in dividing internet connection or intranet in an area. This thing become important because reach area will not in perfect form, so that mistake in placing will decrese Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) performance. In this final task, studied about how to plan good hotspot Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) so that consumer get optimal quality of internet or intranet access.     High dimensionality carrierless amplitude phase modulation technique for radio over fiber system

    Advanced modulation formats such as carrierless amplitude phase (CAP) modulation technique is one of the solutions to increase flexibility and high bit rates to support multi-level and multi-dimensional modulations with the absence of sinusoidal carrier. Recent work are focussing on the 2D CAP-64 QAM Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) system but no extension of higher dimensions is reported. This thesis expands the area of CAP modulation technique and RoF system. The work described in this thesis is devoted to the investigation of 1.25 GSa/s sampling rate for multi-level and multi-dimensional CAP in point-to-point (P2P) and RoF system at 3 km single-mode fiber (SMF). Another advanced modulation format which is known as discrete multitone (DMT) is compared with CAP modulation in order to observe the performance in different modulation schemes. The 4QAM-DMT and 16QAM-DMT at different number of subcarriers are carried out in this propagation. Based on the results, the transmission performance in terms of BER and received optical power for RoF transmission are degraded to almost 3 dB when comparing to 3 km SMF transmission. These are caused by the wireless power loss and impairment effects. The bit rate and spectral efficiency can be increased with the increasing number of levels, and may decreased once the number of dimensions is increased due to the higher up-sampling factor. However, the additional dimensions can be used to support multiple service applications. Therefore, it can be concluded that CAP has better performance as compared to DMT in terms of higher spectral efficiency and data rate. To conclude, the results presented in this thesis exhibit high feasibility of CAP modulation in the increasing number of dimensions and levels. Thus, CAP has the potential to be utilized in multiple service allocations for different number of users

My work is giving overview about using standards. It Analyzes the most common of them and focuses on their architecture and safety. Part of my work will be a creation of the wireless network for needs of a high school.

Podívám se na možné nasazení bezdrátové technologie v podnicích a také nastíním vznik možných rizik. Pokusím se navrhnout a zvolit optimální politiku užívání bezdrátové sítě.In the bachelor’s thesis I solve the problems of wireless networks. This theme includes all information about the main terms in wireless networks, amplification of questions about network security and proposal of solution with complications in creation of this network. I will take a look on usage of wireless technology in a company network, to see possible risk origins. I will try to propose and choose optimal usage policy of wireless network.
