    EJT editorial standard for the semantic enhancement of specimen data in taxonomy literature

    This paper describes a set of guidelines for the citation of zoological and botanical specimens in the European Journal of Taxonomy. The guidelines stipulate controlled vocabularies and precise formats for presenting the specimens examined within a taxonomic publication, which allow for the rich data associated with the primary research material to be harvested, distributed and interlinked online via international biodiversity data aggregators. Herein we explain how the EJT editorial standard was defined and how this initiative fits into the journal's project to semantically enhance its publications using the Plazi TaxPub DTD extension. By establishing a standardised format for the citation of taxonomic specimens, the journal intends to widen the distribution of and improve accessibility to the data it publishes. Authors who conform to these guidelines will benefit from higher visibility and new ways of visualising their work. In a wider context, we hope that other taxonomy journals will adopt this approach to their publications, adapting their working methods to enable domain-specific text mining to take place. If specimen data can be efficiently cited, harvested and linked to wider resources, we propose that there is also the potential to develop alternative metrics for assessing impact and productivity within the natural science

    Bibliometric Analysis of Open Access Digital Humanities Publications

    The main purpose of this paper is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the open access digital humanities scholarly literatures during 2001 to 2020. This paper examines the distribution of year wise growth, authorship pattern, identifies the most productive authors, countries, publication source and institutions and most trusted research areas. The bibliographic data required for this present study has been collected through the Lens database and analyzed on the basis of various indicators of bibliometrics assessment. The study found that digital humanities research on open access platforms is growing rapidly. The study showed that that the developed countries such as the United States, United Kingdom and Canada have played a leading role in digital humanities research. The output of this research paper could be of future use to researchers and faculties associated with digital humanities

    Digital advantages for the construction industry

    Currently, the digital transformation is recognized as a source of many potential effects for the business organization from all sectors of the economy. The purpose of this study is to identify and highlight the possible advantages of the application of digital technologies in the construction sector. A scientometric analysis of the existing literature is performed. The scope of the study is given from three perspectives through three search criteria - digitalization, big data, and forecasting. A total of 2371 articles are abstracted. Then, the extracted data is visualized through Vosviewer software tool. The growth of publications increases significantly over the last decade. The results illustrate that the digitalization in the construction sector affect all aspects of construction projects, with the strongest impact on the architecture design and building information modelling. Big data in construction is associated with the data storage, data analytics and information management, during the whole life of the buildings. The third search criterion shows that construction companies most often forecast the total costs using regression analysis, machine learning algorithms, artificial neural networks, etc The research findings could support decision makers and practitioners with-depth understanding for the possible advantages of digital technologies in the construction industry. In this edition of International Conference, following a competitive blind review process, papers from 126 authors and 25 countries were ultimately accepted. The best papers of the Conference were invited to submit to this Special Issue and we were also open to direct submissions from other authors.     Call me by your name: towards an authority data control shared between archives and libraries

    An important and not often addressed topic \u2013 considering the issues opened by cross-disciplinary projects \u2013 is the shared control of authority records, or better authority metadata, extended to other documentary and cultural heritage sciences. This paper will examine the potential opened by multi-dimensional and networked logics in the representation of entities in the form of data towards which the document communities are converging. This approach is even more valid if we consider the users\u2019 point of view, presently forced to jump from one information environment to another, and confront different names, forms and attributes for the same entities. The core entities to work on are persons, corporate bodies, places, chronological contexts, events, qualifying their relationships. After a brief resume of archival description\u2019s peculiarity, the paper highlights the updated standards available, mostly IFLA-LRM and RiC, precious documents to start from and stimulate an active collaboration. To facilitate the sharing, control, and enrichment of authority data in the form of RDF assertions, librarians and archivists may follow several pathways: matching the existing conceptual models, converging on a shared data playground like Wikidata, and developing foundational meta-ontology
