Fractal grids can be used to design turbulent flows with low power losses and high turbulence intensities for intense yet economic mixing over a region of designed length and location. The introducing circle grid perforated plate is the main aim of this present paper. In this numerical work, we want to ascertain a new approach in turbulence generators on the structure of premixes flames using perforated plate fractal-grids pattern. In this paper, we compared circle grid perforated plate by varies using its diameters, spacing and number of holes on the plate. The result showed good perceptivity of the fractal generated turbulence and the fractal flow physics. The turbulent intensity can be increased by a grid with higher blockage ratio

The effect of dynamic range compression on the psychoacoustic quality and loudness of commercial music

    Get PDF
It is common practice for music productions to be mastered with the aim of increasing the perceived loudness for the listener, allowing one record to stand out from another by delivering an immediate impact and intensity. Since the advent of the Compact Disc in 1980, music has increased in RMS level by up to 20dB. This results in many commercial releases being compressed to a dynamic range of 2–3 dB. Initial findings of this study have determined that amplitude compression adversely affects the audio signal with the introduction of audible artifacts such as sudden gain changes, modulation of the noise floor and signal distortion, all of which appear to be related to the onset of listener fatigue. In this paper, the history and changes in trends with respect to dynamic range are discussed and findings will be presented and evaluated. Initial experimentation, and both the roadmap and challenges for further and wider research are also described and discussed. The key aim of this research is to quantify the effects (both positive and negative) of dynamic range manipulation on the audio signal and subsequent listener experience. A future goal of this study is to ultimately define recommended standards for the dynamic range levels of mastered music in a similar manner to those associated with the film industry

Towards a situated media practice: Reflections on the implementation of project-led problem-based learning

    Get PDF
In the field of media practice education, project-based learning is utilized as a major pedagogic paradigm with the aim of mirroring professional practice within the curriculum. However, if the use of project-based learning is to be considered as more than just a way of administrating student activity, then educators need a critical understanding of how problem encounters order practice within the life cycle of a project. The drawing together of practice-based, project-based and problem-based approaches allows us to see the overlapping nature of these approaches and also differentiate them as unique pedagogies in their own right. It is argued here that this tension between similarity and difference requires a new way of thinking about mirroring professional practice within higher education, one which offers a theory of project-based learning as a productive pedagogy which places problem encounters at its heart

An enormous amount of data is usually needed for the design in the early phases of projects. Right now, computational tools are accessible to help the designer use data and information quickly and effectively to do this. Artificial intelligence, or AI,is a recent field of study that uses, analyzes, and manipulates data to complete tasks and reach goals. Modeling, anomaly detection, association, and grouping are just a few of the many sub-fields that make up the current state of AI, The goal of the current study is to make clear the benefits of using AI into architectural design and to motivate architects to begin doing so. A two-pronged approach is used to achieve this: showcasing the relevant literature and the applicable and desired project. Therefore, the continued promotion and implementation of new computer technologies, such as BIM technology, have had an inescapable significant impact on the Egyptian building sector. In this work, we provide the experiments using the Revit program and their conclusions based on the amount of college education. The architectural design major at higher vocational institutions has seen significant changes at this time. The educational objectives of the institution don\u27t align with the field of architectural design\u27s recent growth. We outline the most recent research on BIM-based architecture education in this article. We contrasted the various software programs used in the education sector, including CAD, SketchUp, and Revit. As a consequence of the experiments and projects using the Revit program during instruction, we receive a BIM competency certificate
