    A digital twin (DT) approach to narrow-band Internet of things (NB-IoT) wireless communication optimization in an industrial scenario

    The pervasive realization of virtual replication of physical entities termed Digital Twin (DT) has been utilized in this paper to optimize the wireless communication of the Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) in an industrial scenario. This optimization is exclusively achieved through DT approach. NB-IoT is a Low-Powered Wide Area Network (LPWAN) standardized by 3GPP and leverages Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. The Amplify-and-Forward (AF) optimization technique is used to improve the performance of some notably poor-performing terminals in the scenario. Bit-Error-Rate (BER) tests show the terminals’ overall performance before and after optimization. An improvement of 17% is achieved in BER. The signal quality of the channels is analyzed as well as the Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF) is used to showcase the effective throughput performance of the NB-IoT terminals

    In the context of a dynamic market like Indonesia, characterized by rapid population growth and increasing internet usage, OOH advertisers face unique opportunities. Indonesia is among the world's leaders in internet adoption, with a steady rise in users expected in the coming years. This digital transformation, led by social media platforms, offers advertisers a potent tool to connect with their audience. Social media, being a pivotal digital platform, has become integral to marketing strategies and customer engagement. Customers frequently turn to social media to inform their purchase decisions, which has propelled its significance in business strategies. Beyond facilitating customer-business interactions, it fosters customer-to-customer communication, transforming it into a multifaceted communication medium. PT. Saji Media Pratama, an out-of-home (OOH) advertising company based in Indonesia, has been operating since 1996 and has provided assistance to numerous companies in fulfilling their OOH requirements. However, in recent years, the company has encountered challenges as its digital marketing platform has struggled to attract new clients and has resulted in low brand awareness. This study examines the internal and external factors affecting the company in order to offer a digital marketing strategy aimed at increasing brand awareness and client acquisition. The company's internal analysis include the conduct of VRIO analysis, CRM analysis, and content analysis. The company's external analysis include the utilization of Porter's Five Forces analysis, customer analysis, and competitive analysis. The data was acquired by conducting a systematic review of relevant academic journals and by conducting in-depth interviews with both current employees of Saji Media and potential customers. The result will be developed using SWOT analysis to answer the research question and to propose a digital marketing strategy with RACE Planning Framework

    Devices and methods for wet gas flow metering: a comprehensive review

    Wet gas is commonly encountered in various industries, including energy, chemical, and electric power sectors. For example, natural gas extracted from production often contains small amounts of liquid, such as water and hydrocarbon condensates, which classifies it as wet gas. The presence of liquid within the gas poses challenges for accurate flow measurement. To improve the performances of wet gas flow metering methods, significant research and development efforts have been invested into the wet gas flow metering technologies due to their vital importance in the production, transfer, and trade benefits. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the recent development of wet gas flow metering. Firstly, a comprehensive discussion of the Lockhart-Martinelli parameter (Xlm) and its relation to the gas void fraction (Óg) is presented, which was mostly overlooked in previous wet gas research work. The occurrence of various flow patterns in wet gas conditions at different orientations (horizontal and vertical) was explored. Following an investigation of pressure impact on the wet gas flow patterns and development of the wet gas regions, a different test matrix for further research work was suggested. After a novel classification of wet gas measurement methods, the paper offers a detailed comparison of differential pressure (DP) meters including Venturi, Cone meter, and orifice meters, by considering both liquid and gas flow rate measurements. Secondly, the paper discusses and compares vortex flow meters, Coriolis and ultrasonic meters in comparison to DP meters. Notable phase fraction meters are also examined and compared to one another. Thirdly, the paper reviewed the concept of existing and potential hybrid wet gas meters, conducting a detailed discussion and comparison with commercial solutions by evaluating their ranges and accuracies. This assessment provides valuable insights into the capabilities of these hybrid meters, highlighting their potential to enhance the measurement of wet gas flow rates

    Configuration Management of Distributed Systems over Unreliable and Hostile Networks

    Economic incentives of large criminal profits and the threat of legal consequences have pushed criminals to continuously improve their malware, especially command and control channels. This thesis applied concepts from successful malware command and control to explore the survivability and resilience of benign configuration management systems. This work expands on existing stage models of malware life cycle to contribute a new model for identifying malware concepts applicable to benign configuration management. The Hidden Master architecture is a contribution to master-agent network communication. In the Hidden Master architecture, communication between master and agent is asynchronous and can operate trough intermediate nodes. This protects the master secret key, which gives full control of all computers participating in configuration management. Multiple improvements to idempotent configuration were proposed, including the definition of the minimal base resource dependency model, simplified resource revalidation and the use of imperative general purpose language for defining idempotent configuration. Following the constructive research approach, the improvements to configuration management were designed into two prototypes. This allowed validation in laboratory testing, in two case studies and in expert interviews. In laboratory testing, the Hidden Master prototype was more resilient than leading configuration management tools in high load and low memory conditions, and against packet loss and corruption. Only the research prototype was adaptable to a network without stable topology due to the asynchronous nature of the Hidden Master architecture. The main case study used the research prototype in a complex environment to deploy a multi-room, authenticated audiovisual system for a client of an organization deploying the configuration. The case studies indicated that imperative general purpose language can be used for idempotent configuration in real life, for defining new configurations in unexpected situations using the base resources, and abstracting those using standard language features; and that such a system seems easy to learn. Potential business benefits were identified and evaluated using individual semistructured expert interviews. Respondents agreed that the models and the Hidden Master architecture could reduce costs and risks, improve developer productivity and allow faster time-to-market. Protection of master secret keys and the reduced need for incident response were seen as key drivers for improved security. Low-cost geographic scaling and leveraging file serving capabilities of commodity servers were seen to improve scaling and resiliency. Respondents identified jurisdictional legal limitations to encryption and requirements for cloud operator auditing as factors potentially limiting the full use of some concepts

    Analysis of Vegetation and Plant Diversity in High Conservation Value Areas in Oil Palm Plantations

    The expansion of oil palm plantations is often rumored to impact the destruction of forests and other ecosystems with high conservation value (HCV). This study aimed to analyze the vegetation and plant diversity in the HCV area of oil palm plantations. The research was conducted on an oil palm plantation in Seruyan District, Central Kalimantan Province, Indonesia with an HCV area of 5379 ha. The research was carried out using the grid transect method on various types of vegetation, divided into four plots: seedlings, saplings, poles and trees. Parameters observed included the number of species, the number of individuals and the level of plant diversity. The results showed that the research location had good vegetation and plant diversity in the HCV area. There were 25 plant species from 17 families with a total of 355 plants. The number of species found in the seedling plots was 11 species (6 families) with a total of 38 plants; in the sapling plots was 16 species (12 families) with a total of 159 plants; in the pole plots was 14 species (11 families) with a total of 43 plants, and in the tree plots was 13 species (10 families) 115 plants. There was variation in the number of species and families in each plot. The overall plant diversity index was low. The diversity index of plants in the plots of seedlings, saplings, poles and trees (and the average) was in the low category
