Perancangan SCADA Software Dengan Wonderware InTouch Recipe Manager Dan SQL Access Manager Pada Simulator Proses Pencampuran Bahan

Nowadays, many industries has applied automation system by using PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition). Wonderware InTouch is a kind of SCADA software available. In order to organize data in recipe and database, Wonderware provides Recipe Manager and SQL Access Manager. In this research, the process of paper making will be used as an industrial case study. In order to describe the process, a simulator plant will be made. It connects to PLC Omron C200HG and a computer which installed with Wonderware InTouch. In SCADA software that has been made, user can choose, delete, and create new recipe which is contained material mixture composition. When the system is running, sensor datas will be stored in a database and it can be seen by user. Security , trend, and alarm features are available too in this program. Based on overall experiment results through SCADA program that connected to PLC and simulator mixing plant, it can be concluded that all features in the program can run well

MiniCPS: A toolkit for security research on CPS Networks

In recent years, tremendous effort has been spent to modernizing communication infrastructure in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) such as Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and related Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. While a great amount of research has been conducted on network security of office and home networks, recently the security of CPS and related systems has gained a lot of attention. Unfortunately, real-world CPS are often not open to security researchers, and as a result very few reference systems and topologies are available. In this work, we present MiniCPS, a CPS simulation toolbox intended to alleviate this problem. The goal of MiniCPS is to create an extensible, reproducible research environment targeted to communications and physical-layer interactions in CPS. MiniCPS builds on Mininet to provide lightweight real-time network emulation, and extends Mininet with tools to simulate typical CPS components such as programmable logic controllers, which use industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus/TCP). In addition, MiniCPS defines a simple API to enable physical-layer interaction simulation. In this work, we demonstrate applications of MiniCPS in two example scenarios, and show how MiniCPS can be used to develop attacks and defenses that are directly applicable to real systems.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures, 1 code listin

Incorporating a state-of-the-art process control and instrumentation system into a complex system for thermal vacuum testing is discussed. The challenge was to connect several independent control systems provided by various vendors to a supervisory computer. This combination will sequentially control and monitor the process, collect the data, and transmit it to color a graphic system for subsequent manipulation. The vacuum system upgrade included: replacement of seventeen diffusion pumps with eight cryogenic pumps and one turbomolecular pump, replacing a relay based control system, replacing vacuum instrumentation, and upgrading the data acquisition system

Automated Real-Time Testing (ARTT) for Embedded Control Systems (ECS)

Developing real-time automated test systems for embedded control systems has been a real problem. Some engineers and scientists have used customized software and hardware as a solution, which can be very expensive and time consuming to develop. We have discovered how to integrate a suite of commercially available off-the-shelf software tools and hardware to develop a scalable test platform that is capable of performing complete black-box testing for a dual-channel real-time Embedded-PLC-based control system (www.aps.anl.gov). We will discuss how the Vali/Test Pro testing methodology was implemented to structure testing for a personnel safety system with large quantities of requirements and test cases. This work was supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Basic Energy Sciences, under Contract No. W-31-109-Eng-38.Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures, ICALEPCS 2001, Poster Sessio

Introduction of programmable logic controller in industrial engineering curriculum

    Get PDF
Recent trends in process control and industrial automation scenarios have resulted in the emergence of many pioneering techniques that have revolutionized the manufacturing industry. In order to maintain quality and precision, advances have been associated with the increasing use of microprocessors in process control applications. Most of the industrial process control systems utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Also due to the increase in internet usage and recent innovations in PLC software, remote monitoring and PLC control of process through the internet is also a recent trend. This thesis presents course/lab material for integration in the Industrial Engineering curriculum. The course/lab content was designed to improve the student\u27s knowledge and to broaden the industrial engineering curriculum at West Virginia University (WVU). This thesis proposes the use of inexpensive T100MD+ PLCs. A traffic light control system was developed to introduce the fundamental concepts of Boolean algebra and real-time control. A series of control exercises can be carried on the traffic light system. A temperature sensitive system was also developed. Students can test various PID control strategies on this hardware/software platform. Students will also have the ability to control the process via the internet

A PLC Controlled Pick and Place Pneumatic Arm Brace for Automatic Manufacturing Systems

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are specialized computers used for the control and operation of manufacturing process and machinery, especially in industrial environment. PLC is a user friendly, microprocessor-based specialized computer that carries out control functions of many types and levels complexity that cannot be done by human. This project employees a 9-step problem solving approach to develop a PLC controlled pick and place pneumatic arm brace for automatic manufacturing system in order to solve the problem which appears in a production line. It includes the following steps: define the process operation and list the step-by-step sequence of operation, define and list the input and output devices and sensors required for proper operation, assign corresponding PLC scheme, draw up the PLC scheme, enter the program into the PLC, check the program by using the function mode, wire the PLC system to a simulator and check for hidden safety defects or sequencing problems, check the actual process and make modifications as required. The result shows that the PLC system has been set up and worked properly in the laboratory floor

Side-channel based intrusion detection for industrial control systems

Industrial Control Systems are under increased scrutiny. Their security is historically sub-par, and although measures are being taken by the manufacturers to remedy this, the large installed base of legacy systems cannot easily be updated with state-of-the-art security measures. We propose a system that uses electromagnetic side-channel measurements to detect behavioural changes of the software running on industrial control systems. To demonstrate the feasibility of this method, we show it is possible to profile and distinguish between even small changes in programs on Siemens S7-317 PLCs, using methods from cryptographic side-channel analysis.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures.
