Reform of the public healthcare system in Ukraine: problems and perspectives

1. The development of a public health system in Ukraine is possible only through the implementation and adoption of the relevant Law, as well as the introduction of the basic approach Health in All Policies. 2. It is necessary to prepare a comparable to Health in All Policies National Plan for the Development of Staffing System of the Public Health Care Sector for interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral purposes and for determining the real and possible needs of specialists of different qualifications and educational levels. 3. It is compulsory to learn from valuable European and international experience; then develop and approve educational programs and standards in the sector of public health in order to provide three education levels bachelor's (first cycle), master's (second cycle) and doctoral (third cycle) and continuous professional development. 4. It is essential to introduce Amendments to the National Classifier of Ukraine DK 003: 2010 Occupational Classification in the Public Health sector

Suggestopedia method in the english language teaching to improve listening skills in the third grade at Miguel Angel Leon School

To integrate suggestopedia method in the English Language teaching for the improvement of listening skills in third-grade students of the Miguel Angel León school academic period 2021-2022 Quito-Ecuador.En el presente trabajo de investigación realizó la integración del método Sugestopedia en la enseñanza del idioma inglés para el mejoramiento de la habilidad auditiva en los estudiantes de tercer grado de la escuela de Educación Básica Fiscal Miguel Angel León período académico 2021-2022 Quito-Ecuador. El enfoque de la investigación es de tipo mixto, es decir, cualitativo y cuantitativo, por medio de una técnica de revisión bibliográfica y la recolección de información a través de entrevistas, a la autoridad de la institución, a la coordinadora, docentes de inglés y una encuesta a los estudiantes del tercer grado. Los resultados iniciales, mostraron la existencia de dificultades en la comprensión auditiva, para entender las acciones o actividades del docente. Por lo tanto, se propuso el uso de Sugestopedia como metodología de enseñanza, por sus beneficios para mejorar las capacidades auditivas cuando los estudiantes se encuentran relajados y en un estado de receptividad. Como aporte de esta investigación se propuso una guía estructurada en nueve actividades con sus respectivas rúbricas de evaluación, distribuidas de manera semanal, también se utilizó diversos recursos audiovisuales adaptados a las necesidades de aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Además, se destaca la importancia de crear un ambiente propicio en el aula, mediante el uso de técnicas como la música y la expresión artística. En conclusión, este tipo de metodología también aborda el aprendizaje de manera holística, teniendo en cuenta no solo la adquisición de conocimientos, sino también el desarrollo emocional y social de los estudiantes. Utilizing ESL Learners’ Socio-Cognitive Resources to Enhance General Academic Vocabulary Acquisition

This study examined the extent to which English as a Second Language Learner (ESL) graduate students’ socio-cognitive resources (the combination of culturally relevant imagery and first language (L1) facilitate their Second Language (L2) general academic vocabulary acquisition in a social learning setting. The study investigated whether the use of culturally relevant imagery and L1 translation equivalents facilitate retrieval of new general academic vocabulary. The study was informed by the following theories: Levels of Processing Theory (Craik & Lockhart, 1972), Vocabulary Learning Strategy Taxonomy (Gu & Johnson, 1996), Social Constructivist Theory (Vygotsky, 1978) and the Bilingual Dual Coding Theory (Paivio & Desrochers, 1980)—which assumes that bilinguals’ cognitive activity is mediated by their two verbal systems and the image system representing their knowledge of the world. Utilizing a sequential explanatory mixed method strategy, the study first explored the general vocabulary learning strategy (VLS) preferences of 41 ESL graduate students with a survey. Then with a sub-sample of nine ESL graduate students, in a collaborative setting. the study used a case study approach to determine the extent to which a VLS that utilizes the socio-cognitive resources of the bilingual might activate the connections in the verbal systems and image system that lead to deep processing and retrieval of new vocabulary. The findings of the study indicate that the ESL learners’ socio-cognitive resources have a positive impact on their general academic vocabulary acquisition. Outcomes of the study inform students and educators alike on how a VLS honouring ESL learners’ socio-cognitive resources can be utilized to enhance general academic vocabulary acquisition. It also contributes to a domain of teaching and learning where there is a dearth of literatur

Dynamic assessment of e-learning in foreign languages programs in sustainable and emergency digitization formats

The global pandemic and subsequent quarantine measures and restrictions have posed an array of challenges to the structure and procedure of higher education workflow, which influenced significantly the scope of individual experiences, projected outcomes and estimated quality of higher education in countries across the world. The subsequent warfare in Ukraine has brought forth emergency digitization measures called to adapt and adjust digital learning formats to the technological, emotional and educational challenges of the active warzone. This study focus is the in-depth assessment of the progress in individual digital and hybrid learning experiences by students of different tiers (Bachelor’s level, Master’s level, Graduate school level) in Oriental (Mandarin Chinese, Japanese) and European (French, Italian, Spanish, English, German) Languages university level programs at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University of Ukraine through the span of educational activities in the time-frame of COVID-19 quarantine measures (sustainable digitization) of 2020-2021 and the timespan of active warfare (emergency digitization measures) of 2022. The comparative survey benchmarking and analysis of different e-learning dimensions is used to assess the progress and challenges of individual quality and efficiency of translation of the real life Foreign Languages Acquisition practices into digital and hybrid format, involving activation of interoperable skills and cross-sectorial activities, facilitated by digital tools
