How Students Learn Best: An Analysis of Demonstrations, Labs, and Scenario-Based Teaching
The purpose of this study is to analyze how students learn best and to discover the methods in which they like to learn new information. Students often find learning in science classrooms difficult or uninteresting. My goal as a future science teacher is to stimulate students so that they are interested in learning the processes and findings of science. There are a myriad of ways that researchers and science teachers think that students can be engaged, such as demonstrations, labs, and scenario-based teaching. I would like to survey students, mainly freshmen in introductory classes, and ask them if they prefer to learn by demonstrations, labs, or scenario-based teaching. I am hoping this information will benefit me in my future classroom so that I may connect with as many of my students as possible and elevate students\u27 knowledge of science
Teaching and Learning in First Year Seminars
This Journal of Information Technology Education article compares the relative successes of three different teaching techniques in seminars for a first year university course. This paper tests to see if there is one overriding approach that enables all students to learn effectively in seminars or whether different students benefit from different teaching techniques. Educational levels: Graduate or professional
THE IMPLICATION OF BEHAVIOURISM THEORY IN TEACHING GRAMMAR FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
This paper attempts to discuss the implication of behaviorism theory in teaching grammar for
elementary students. The behaviorism theory focused on the direct learning.Typical
behavioristic models were Substitution Drills, Segmented Teaching, Modeling, Other
behaviorist techniques. The elementary students are active and able to understand the
meaning without understanding particular words. Teaching Grammar is not directly
taught in the classroom, but the teacher integrates with vocabulary in statement, such as
communicative question. We can conclude that in behaviorism theory can help to develop
students to learn grammar in the foreign language, not by teaching grammar directly, but by
imitating, repeatating also drilling
Motivating Weak Students: A Critical Discussion and Reflection
The motivation of students is regarded as one of the problems in the higher education. One of the reasons for the increasing number of students with low-level of motivation is that there are many students join universities without adequate level of preparation. consequently, because of complex material delivered to students and their low ability to learn quickly, the motivation of students to learn Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other software packages be decreased significantly during educational process. The means of multimedia can be used in teaching the technology to help in solving this problem.
The basic idea of proposed approach is to use the video clips, multimedia applications in the teaching process. The basic material should be accessible by students at any time. In order to do this, the material mentioned above should be published in E-learn. These video clips will help students in doing some exercises on their own time and independently which they may miss and can be used by students at later times when they prepare their design work using CAD. The accessibility of material and its possibility to repeat it a lot of time may increase the level of studentās knowledge gained and have improved their motivation.

Cosmology and Science Education: Problems and Promises
Cosmology differs in some respects significantly from other sciences,
primarily because of its intimate association with issues of a conceptual and
philosophical nature. Because cosmology in the broader sense relates to the
world views held by students, it provides a means for bridging the gap between
the teaching of science and the teaching of humanistic subjects. Students
should of course learn to distinguish between what is right and wrong about the
science of the universe. No less importantly, they should learn to recognize
the limits of science and that there are questions about nature that may
forever remain unanswered. Cosmology, more than any other science, is well
suited to illuminate issues of this kind.Comment: 37 page
The Image of Vocabulary
This research project was conducted among 96 sophomore students whom attended a suburban high school (made up of roughly 2,000 students). It is important to understand how students\u27 best learn vocabulary because it allows teachers to discuss new words most effectively. Purpose of this project is to maximize the potential for high school students to learn new vocabulary. The data that I collected showed that teaching students new vocabulary words with pictures made a substantial difference in the way they were able to recall the words\u27 definitions. The success rate of each word increases dramatically when context clues are added and increased further with the inclusion of pictures
THE ENGLISH TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS IN THE 5th GRADE CLASS OF SDN SANGGRAHAN JEBRES SURAKARTA
This final project is written based on the job training which has been
done by the writer in SDN Sanggrahan, Jebres, Surakarta. The objectives of
this final project are to describe the English teaching and learning process in
the fifth grade students of SDN Sanggrahan and to find out the problems and
solutions during the job training.
The class activities consisted of four steps based on the lesson plan that
was made before. They are warming up, explanation, the exercises and ending
the lesson. In the exercises activities, there are four basics languange skills
such as: listening, writing, speaking and reading. The writer found some
problems during the job training such as: class management, studentsā
motivations, and language problems. The teacher should have an effective
technique to handle the classes, motivate the students to learn English and
teach using repetitive drills are needed to solve these problems.
To improve the quality of English teaching and learning in SDN
Sanggrahan, Jebres, Surakarta, it is suggested that the English teacher be
responsible with her role effectively in teaching and learning process. She
should build studentsā motivation to learn English by giving new alternatives in
teaching and learning. Besides, the school should provide more time for the
English lesson. Therefore, the English teaching and learning process will be
more attractive to the student
Teaching Students How to Learn Differently with Robotics
Students will participate in creating physical and tangible projects that are relevant to real world experiences ā by designing and building experimental models that solve problems in a challenging and fun atmosphere. Specifically- students will construct a robot to perform certain duties [IN THEORY āTO GO INTO DANGEROUS PLACES] and then write a program for the robot using ROBOLAB software. Students will further design a replica of their robot using Interactive Physics
Educational Development and Strategic Planning
Teaching is an intervention which allows someone to learn as fully as they are able. Universities and colleges should provide students with the structures and support they need to learn, and recognise and minimise the barriers to learning which do not relate to a studentās ability. We are still only part of the way along the journey of understanding what we need to provide our students with in order to enable them to learn best, what kinds of interventions can and should be made, what skills and attributes are needed by teachers and leaders in post compulsory education. Strategic planning in educational development is about finding out what should be done to improve our provision for students, and putting the resources and infrastructure in place to enable those changes to happen
INSERTING JAVANESE ACRONYMS FOR TEACHING GRAMMAR RULES: A Theoretical Assumption
Teaching grammar approaches have been applied one after another in the class for quite some
time. However, the approaches may match to some students and may not to some others. The
appropriateness and the effective usage of teaching grammar approaches can help students to facilitate
the language process more comprehend (Thornbury.2006). Oxford (1989) states that there is a
relationship between studentsā variables and the choice of Language Learning Strategies (LLSs).
Studentsā variable likes studentsā background language can be used as a media to transfer the grammar.
For example when Javanese students learn English grammar, then the strategy used can be linked with
the Javanese way of thinking. In addition, there must be an appropriate strategy to bridge between the
LLSs and the studentsā language background. Teaching grammar using acronyms is one of the ways to
bridge between LLSs and Javanese in the class
