Space construction system analysis. Part 2: Cost and programmatics

Cost and programmatic elements of the space construction systems analysis study are discussed. The programmatic aspects of the ETVP program define a comprehensive plan for the development of a space platform, the construction system, and the space shuttle operations/logistics requirements. The cost analysis identified significant items of cost on ETVP development, ground, and flight segments, and detailed the items of space construction equipment and operations

Orthogonal Appell bases for Hodge-de Rham systems in Euclidean spaces

Recently the Gelfand-Tsetlin construction of orthogonal bases has been explicitly described for the spaces of k-homogeneous polynomial solutions of the Hodge-de Rham system in the Euclidean space R^m which take values in the space of s-vectors. In this paper, we give another construction of these bases and, mainly, we show that the bases even form complete orthogonal Appell systems. Moreover, we study the corresponding Taylor series expansions. As an application, we construct quite explicitly orthogonal bases for homogeneous solutions of an arbitrary generalized Moisil-Theodoresco system.Comment: submitte

Scaffold searching: automated identification of similar ring systems for the design of combinatorial libraries

Rigid ring systems can be used to position receptor-binding functional groups in 3D space and they thus play an increasingly important role in the design of combinatorial libraries. This paper discusses the use of shape-similarity methods to identify ring systems that are structurally similar to, and aligned with, a user-defined target ring system. These systems can be used as alternative scaffolds for the construction of a combinatorial library

The technical feasibility of the Satellite Power System (SPS) is discussed. The development of feasible operational concepts and conceptualization of specific construction tasks are examined. The logic flow of functional analyses of both the rectenna and the satellite is illustrated. Constraints placed upon the construction processes and equipment by the satellite design are outlined. The construction tasks, when defined and combined into an integrated schedule establish, a time line for construction mass flow demands to be satisfied by the space transportation systems. An example of satellite constructive demands and HLLV delivery capabilities is given
