ISI Publications Management Through Performance Indicators

The paper proposes to describe the ways in which the research management and administration department from a certain institution can interfere with specific policies in order to increase the visibility of scientific publications. Die Arbeit gliedert in drei Teile: Zunächst werden die Untersuchungsgegenstände und -ziele der Scientometrie erläutert mit Definitionen sowie einem historischen Abriß der scientometrischen Forschung und deren wichtigster Vertreter. Desweiteren wird eine methodische Einführung mit einer Beschreibung geeigneter Datenbanken und deren Analysemöglichkeiten gegeben. Im dritten, praktischen Teil der Arbeit werden konkrete Fragestellungen am Beispiel der Nanotechnologie mit scientometrischen Methoden untersucht. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in den Forschungsgegenstand der Nanotechnologie und der methodischen Vorgehensweise werden Fragestellungen formuliert, zu denen Aussagen über Datenbankanalysen möglich sind. Die Rohdaten aus den Datenbanken werden abgebildet und entsprechend aufbereitet. Es wird versucht, die Analyseergebnisse anhand von Experteneinschätzungen zur jeweiligen Problematik zu verifizieren. Die Arbeit wird abgeschlossen mit einer Zusammenfassung aller Ergebnisse und einem Ausblick aus informationswissenschaftlicher Sicht.

European Summer School for Scientometrics (ESSS)

Konference ESSS nabízí základní vzdělávání týkající se hlavních aspektů kvantitativní analýzy vědy a techniky. Je to jakýsi vstupní kurz do této problematiky. Určena je zejména pro politiky, vědce, hodnotitele kvality výzkumu, informační pracovníky a knihovníky. ESSS se skládá z přípravného kurzu a konference. Naše účast na této akci byla klíčová pro úkol PHÚ E.2 Vytváření analytických výstupů výkonů české vědy z citačních databází ve fondu NTK pro MŠMT. Zřizovatelem jsme byli pověřeni účastí na projektu Efektivní systém hodnocení a financování výzkumu, vývoje a inovací. K tomu je potřeba proškolit pověřené zaměstnance v nejnovějších poznatcích oboru scientometrie, což bylo očekávaným cíle cesty

REGIONAL DYNAMICS OF PRIVATE PENSION FUNDS IN ROMANIA

The number of participants in the private pension funds, as well as the volume of their contribution, differs significant in each development region. It goes without saying that the territorial distribution of the indicators related to pension funds are influenced, on the one hand, by the offer of these financial products, which we estimate counting the number of marketing agents authorized by the supervisory committee and, on the other hand, by the solvent demand, which is also determined by a series of economic, social, cultural and institutional. Since the emergence of pension funds in Romania is relatively new, for developing the econometric model we had to use monthly data series, which has induced a number of restrictions related to the information available in this format. Also, to increase the model's number of degrees of freedom, the data on the indicators will be detailed in the 42 counties, local structures corresponding to NUTS-III level.

Current State of Science Evaluation in EU

Tato práce popisuje systém hodnocení vědy v devatenácti zemích Evropské Unie (EU 15 + Visegrádská čtyřka). Cílem je získání informací k systémům hodnocení a financování v jednotlivých zemích a následné porovnání. Hlavními zjišťované informace se týkaly národního systému hodnocení v zemi, systému financování v zemi, financujících a hodnotících těles v zemi. Bylo také zjišťováno, jaký typ hodnocení je v zemi používán (review nebo scientometrie). Pokud hodnocení probíhalo formou scientometrie, byly zjišťovány používané indikátory. Informace k jednotlivým zemím byly zapisovány do tabulky a následně shrnuty a interpretovány. Zjišťování informací probíhalo především vyhledáváním na webu, kvůli nutnosti získání co nejaktuálnějších informací. Z porovnání bylo zjištěno, že některé země nemají centralizované systémy hodnocení. Země, u kterých bylo toto hodnocení nalezeno, používají nejčastěji review i scientometrii.This work is describing a system of science evaluation in nineteen countries of European Union (EU 15+ Visegrad group). The objective is acquisition of information for the systems of evaluation and financing in individual countries and subsequent comparison. The main acquired information is related to national evaluation system in the country, system of financing in the country, financing and evaluating bodies in the country. It was also examined, which type of evaluation is used in the country (review or scientometry). If the evaluation took place in the form of scientometrics, the indicators used were determined. Information on individual countries was entered into a table and then summarized and interpreted. Finding information was mainly done by searching the web, in order to obtain the most up-to-date information. From the comparison, it was found that some countries do not have centralized evaluation systems.
