SMS Security Improvement using RSA in Complaints Application on Regional Head Election’s Fraud
In the campaign period of regional heads election, fraud can occur, such as money politics, blaming campaign facilities, campaign time violations, and black campaign. This study implemented a secure SMS application for election fraud complaints as a tool for the society to report all forms of election fraud that have occurred to the election supervisory department safely. The RSA algorithm was applied to encrypt the messages for sender privacy protection. The application was able to perform the message randomization function properly with a 10.44% avalanche effect. Brute force attack using a 16-bit key length needs 3.7 milliseconds for each try to find 32.768 possible private keys
SMS security system for smart home detectors
Security has always been an important problem everywhere. Home security has been a major issue where crime is increasing and everybody wants home security to protect the home. Safety from theft and flame are the most important requirements of a home security system for people. A remote home security system offers many benefits from keeping homeowners, and their property safe.
This paper present controlling of the home security system remotely from Android Application. Owners can turn on or off the security system and provide security when the owner is away from the place. The system is SMS based and uses cloud and wireless technology, sensors, and Arduino Uno microcontroller.
The system sends SMS to the desired number to take necessary actions. When the secure system is activated from Android Application the microcontroller can detect the theft and flame, and send alarm SMS remotely. SMS will come to the owners in seconds after the motion or flame is detected. This paper presents the design and implementation of a low-cost secure system for the smart home.

SMS Encryption by Using Android Operating System
Mobile phones are the most commonly used devices in today’s scenario. The expanding use of mobile phones, telecommunicationcompanies added feature such as SMS (Short Messaging Service) in order to attract more customers. The Short Messaging Service (SMS) hasbecome very popular for sending messages containing information among mobile users. Alongside, the need for the secure communicationbecame more imperative. SMS security ensures security of messages from the access of unauthorized users. Using RSA algorithm to encryptionof message that length is 160 character. In this paper present approach encryption message for type a SMS then send to other user. This approachis applied in mobile environment with android operating system. The platform used here is JAVA and the proposed approach is tested differenttypes of mobile types (Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, HTC)
Short Message Service (SMS) security solution for mobile devices
This thesis focuses on the security of Short Message Service (SMS) and the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) network and the use of encryption to protect SMS messages. A detailed study of the GSM network and SMS protocol, and encryption schemes was conducted to understand the properties of different encryption schemes and their applicability to SMS messages. An experiment was conducted to measure the actual performance of various encryption schemes on a modern smart phone device. An analysis of the encryption scheme properties and the performance measurement was then conducted to select a suitable scheme for SMS encryption. The selected scheme was implemented in the form of a Secure SMS Chat application to validate the viability of the selected encryption scheme. Potential applications of secure SMS in military settings are also discussed.http://archive.org/details/shortmessageserv109452487Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited

BVPSMS: A Batch Verification Protocol for End-to-End Secure SMS for Mobile Users
Short Message Service (SMS) is a widely used communication medium for mobile applications, such as banking, social networking, and e-commerce. Applications of SMS services also include real-time broadcasting messages, such as notification of natural disasters and terrorist attacks, and sharing the current whereabouts to other users, such as notifying urgent business meeting information, transmitting quick information in the battlefield to multiple users, notifying current location to our friends, and sharing market information. However, traditional SMS is not designed with security in mind (e.g. messages are not securely sent). In this paper, we introduce a batch verification Authentication and Key Agreement (AKA) protocol, BVPSMS, which provides end-to-end message security over an insecure communication channel between different Mobile Subscribers (MSs). Specifically, the proposed protocol securely transmits SMS from one MS to multiple MS simultaneously. We then evaluate the performance of the BVPSMS protocol in terms of communication and computation overheads, protocol execution time, and batch and re-batch verification times. The impacts of the user mobility, and the time, space, and cost complexity analysis are also discussed. We present a formal proof of the proposed protocol. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first provably-secure batch verification AKA protocol, which provides end-to-end security to the SMS using symmetric keys
Countering SMS Attacks: Filter Recommendations
In this paper we summarize the findings of our investigation on security issues of Short Message Service (SMS) clients on mobile phones. We realized that firmware updates will not be available on a large scale and thus see filtering of SMS traffic as the only possible counter measure against large scale attacks based on SMS messages. This paper presents our ideas on filtering SMS features by the mobile network operators
