Robust Stability Analysis for Uncertain Switched Discrete-Time Systems
This paper is concerned with the robust stability for a class of switched discrete-time systems with state parameter uncertainty. Firstly, a new matrix inequality considering uncertainties is introduced and proved. By means of it, a novel sufficient condition for robust stability of a class of uncertain switched discrete-time systems is presented. Furthermore, based on the result obtained, the switching law is designed and has been performed well, and some sufficient conditions of robust stability have been derived for the uncertain switched discrete-time systems using the Lyapunov stability theorem, block matrix method and inequality technology. Finally, some examples are exploited to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed schemes
Robust stability of discrete time systems under parametric perturbations
Cataloged from PDF version of article.Stability robustness analysis of a system under parametric
perturbations is concerned with characterizing a region in the parameter
space in which the system remains stable. In this paper, two methods
are presented to estimate the stability robustness region of a linear,
time-invariant, discrete-time system under multiparameter additive perturbations.
An inherent difficulty, which originates from the nonlinear
appearance of the perturbation parameters in the inequalities defining
the robustness region, is resolved by transforming the problem to stability
of a higher order continuous-time system. This allows for application of
the available results on stability robustness of continuous-time systems
to discrete-time systems. The results are also applied to stability analysis
of discrete-time interconnected systems, where the interconnections are
treated as perturbations on decoupled stable subsystems
Robust moving horizon H∞ control of discrete time-delayed systems with interval time-varying delays
In this study, design of a delay-dependent type moving horizon state-feedback control (MHHC) is considered for a class of linear discrete-time system subject to time-varying state delays, norm-bounded uncertainties, and disturbances with bounded energies. The closed-loop robust stability and robust performance problems are considered to overcome the instability and poor disturbance rejection performance due to the existence of parametric uncertainties and time-delay appeared in the system dynamics. Utilizing a discrete-time Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, some delay-dependent linear matrix inequality (LMI) based conditions are provided. It is shown that if one can find a feasible solution set for these LMI conditions iteratively at each step of run-time, then we can construct a control law which guarantees the closed-loop asymptotic stability, maximum disturbance rejection performance, and closed-loop dissipativity in view of the actuator limitations. Two numerical examples with simulations on a nominal and uncertain discrete-time, time-delayed systems, are presented at the end, in order to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method

The class of systems under investigation involves parameter uncertainties that are assumed to be norm-bounded. We first focus on deriving the sufficient conditions under which the uncertain 2-D systems keep robustly asymptotically stable for all admissible parameter uncertainties. It is shown that the problem addressed can be recast to a convex optimization one characterized by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and therefore a numerically attractive LMI approach can be exploited to test the robust stability of the uncertain discrete-time 2-D systems. We further apply the obtained results to study the robust stability of perturbed 2-D digital filters with overflow nonlinearities
Robust stability and stabilization of discrete singular systems: An equivalent characterization
This note deals with the problems of robust stability and stabilization for uncertain discrete-time singular systems. The parameter uncertainties are assumed to be time-invariant and norm-bounded appearing in both the state and input matrices. A new necessary and sufficient condition for a discrete-time singular system to be regular, causal and stable is proposed in terms of a strict linear matrix inequality (LMI). Based on this, the concepts of generalized quadratic stability and generalized quadratic stabilization for uncertain discrete-time singular systems are introduced. Necessary and sufficient conditions for generalized quadratic stability and generalized quadratic stabilization are obtained in terms of a strict LMI and a set of matrix inequalities, respectively. With these conditions, the problems of robust stability and robust stabilization are solved. An explicit expression of a desired state feedback controller is also given, which involves no matrix decomposition. Finally, an illustrative example is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.published_or_final_versio
