An Intelligent Online Shopping Guide Based On Product Review Mining
This position paper describes an on-going work on a novel recommendation framework for assisting online shoppers in choosing the most desired products, in accordance with requirements input in natural language. Existing feature-based Shopping Guidance Systems fail when the customer lacks domain expertise. This framework enables the customer to use natural language in the query text to retrieve preferred products interactively. In addition, it is intelligent enough to allow a customer to use objective and subjective terms when querying, or even the purpose of purchase, to screen out the expected products
CHORUS Deliverable 2.1: State of the Art on Multimedia Search Engines
Based on the information provided by European projects and national initiatives related to multimedia search as well as domains experts that participated in the CHORUS Think-thanks and workshops, this document reports on the state of the art related to multimedia content search from, a technical, and socio-economic perspective.
The technical perspective includes an up to date view on content based indexing and retrieval technologies, multimedia search in the context of mobile devices and peer-to-peer networks, and an overview of current evaluation and benchmark inititiatives to measure the performance of multimedia search engines.
From a socio-economic perspective we inventorize the impact and legal consequences of these technical advances and point out future directions of research

A telepresence environment for concurrent life-cycle design and construction
Construction projects normally involve transient 'virtual organisations', where a multidisciplinary
project team works together on the design and construction of a facility. Many of
these participants often work independently while taking decisions that inevitably affect
others. The research described in the thesis involved examining the adoption of concurrent
engineering (CE) principles by the construction industry as a way to reduce the problems
posed by the fragmentation of the industry, and to enhance its competitiveness. An important
aspect of concurrent engineering in construction is the need for effective communication of
design information between all members of the project team and across all stages of the
constructed facility's life-cycle. The thesis describes the development of a communications

CHORUS Deliverable 2.2: Second report - identification of multi-disciplinary key issues for gap analysis toward EU multimedia search engines roadmap
After addressing the state-of-the-art during the first year of Chorus and establishing the existing landscape in
multimedia search engines, we have identified and analyzed gaps within European research effort during our second year.
In this period we focused on three directions, notably technological issues, user-centred issues and use-cases and socio-
economic and legal aspects. These were assessed by two central studies: firstly, a concerted vision of functional breakdown
of generic multimedia search engine, and secondly, a representative use-cases descriptions with the related discussion on
requirement for technological challenges. Both studies have been carried out in cooperation and consultation with the
community at large through EC concertation meetings (multimedia search engines cluster), several meetings with our
Think-Tank, presentations in international conferences, and surveys addressed to EU projects coordinators as well as
National initiatives coordinators. Based on the obtained feedback we identified two types of gaps, namely core
technological gaps that involve research challenges, and “enablers”, which are not necessarily technical research
challenges, but have impact on innovation progress. New socio-economic trends are presented as well as emerging legal
challenges
Performance Evaluation of Selected Search Engines
Search Engines have become an integral part of daily internet usage. The search engine is the first stop for web users when they are looking for a product. Information retrieval may be viewed as a problem of classifying items into one of two classes corresponding to interesting and uninteresting items respectively. A natural performance metric in this context is classification accuracy, defined as the fraction of the system's interesting/uninteresting predictions that agree with the user's assessments. On the other hand, the field of information retrieval has two classical performance evaluation metrics: precision, the fraction of the items retrieved by the system that are interesting to the user, and recall, the fraction of the items of interest to the user that are retrieved by the system. Measuring the information retrieval effectiveness of World Wide Web search engines is costly because of human relevance judgments involved. However, both for business enterprises and people it is important to know the most effective Web search engines, since such search engines help their users find higher number of relevant Web pages with less effort. Furthermore, this information can be used for several practical purposes. This study evaluates the performance of three Web search engines. Sustainable lighting product development underpinned by online data mining and life cycle assessment
The accurate acquisition of customer requirement information is an important part in product planning and positioning, it plays a decisive role in the success of products in the market. the rapid development of e-commerce makes increasing more consumers shopping online and a big volume of customer reviews are posted on different Websites. The online reviews contain valuable opinions of customers, enabling designers to understand their concerns. In this research, an integrated approach has been developed to mine customer requirements according to the online reviews collected from e-commerce sites to form product design specifications. The main research contents include the following aspects: (1) development of useful online review prediction and classification approach; (2) online review implicit product features and sentiment analysis based on the constructed feature and sentiment lexicon; (3) built a knowledge base containing customer requirements mined from online reviews; (4) conduct a dedicated environmental and social LCA on the proposed domestic lighting product by using a professional LCA software.
In this study, multiple models and technologies/methods have been successfully implemented: review helpfulness classification model has been constructed based on the training set and test set by tuning and optimizing; proposes a new approach to implicit feature and sentiment analysis, based on explicit formal feature-emotion sentences, implicit feature sentences and implicit sentiment sentences, combined with a feature lexicon, a 1V1/1Vn sentiment-feature rule base and the feature-emotion word pairs are extracted; based on the preliminary analysis results of feature extraction and sentiment analysis, combined with KANO model to establish user requirement mining rules, and consider satisfaction, propose the user demand priority to obtain the final list of user requirements; a real industrial context with lighting product manufacturer (ONA) in Spain has involved with the lighting product life cycle analysis and development for new product. The analytical results of these studies present an in-depth modelling and analysis on the sustainable lighting product lifecycle with the aid of real manufacturing data

ChatGPT in programming, source code analysis, and code generation. LLMs and
ChatGPT are built using machine learning and artificial intelligence
techniques, and they offer several benefits to developers and programmers.
While these models can save time and provide highly accurate results, they are
not yet advanced enough to replace human programmers entirely. The paper
investigates the potential applications of LLMs and ChatGPT in various areas,
such as code creation, code documentation, bug detection, refactoring, and
more. The paper also suggests that the usage of LLMs and ChatGPT is expected to
increase in the future as they offer unparalleled benefits to the programming

A Meta Analysis of Critical Success Factors for Computer Technology Projects
Project managers are continually in pursuit of a magic formula that will deliver a successful project. Companies arc interested in formulas for project success because billions of dollars arc wasted each year, in U.S.A. Information Technology projects alone. through poorly managed or failed projects. Failing projects arc not only bad for the individual project team members, but a failed project\u27s impacts emanate outward to cause companies to decline or die. In addition, the targeted customers who receive inferior products, late products, or no products at all (due to project failures) are significantly impacted as well. Because failed computer technology projects arc not isolated to the U.S.A., ultimately the entire world economy would be benefited by the identification of reliable critical success factors.
This study investigates, through a meta analysis of current research and literature, the existence of Critical Success Factors (CSFs) that influence the ability to deliver successful projects. Twenty-nine literature sources, from three different categories of literature (Researchers, Orgarizations, and Experts) were used as input to the analysis. The results obtained from the analysis yielded seventeen CSFs which contribute to the success of a project.
