A Novel Intelligence-based e-Procurement System to offer Maximum Fairness Index in Ongoing Auction Process

A perfect auction policy is one of the most strategic elements that contribute to success factor for any e-Procurement system. An auction policy can be only term as an effective if it really offer win-win situation to both the bidder as well as to the merchant. After reviewing existing studies on e-Procurement system, it is found that there isno effective research work focusing on this point and maximum research contribution has limited its scope to certain application or case studis. Hence, the proposed system introduces a novel e-Procurement system which is equipped by an itelligence-building process for performing predictive analysis of ongoing auction process. A mathematical modelling is implemented where all teh variables have been formed using practical implementation of auction system and followed by optimization process using regression-based approach. The study outcome shows that proposed system offers better response time and higher predictive accuracy in contrast to existing approaches

Fault diagnosis of transformer using association rule mining and knowledge base

Association rule mining makes interesting associations and/or correlations among large sets of data. Those associations can be refined as decision rules to be used and stored in a knowledge base system. In this paper, an approach based on association rule and knowledge base is proposed and implemented in the fault diagnosis of a transformer system. According to the features of association rule, the Apriori algorithm is adopted and modified to generate decision rules from power transformer information for building knowledge base, then the rules can be refined to diagnose the fault of the transformer through reasoning, and a prototype system is developed. This approach based on association rule is described in detail and the application is illustrated by an example. A comparison with the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) three-ratio method shows the proposed method can provide better accuracy in performance. © 2010 IEEE

Identifying Project Contingency Factors for Situational Project Management Method Engineering

    Get PDF
While several researchers and practitioners stated that project management methods should fit the project context, engineering a project management method to fit a specific situation has not yet received much attention in the literature. Only recently, some studies have introduced Project Contingency Theory (PCT) and suggested various project contingency factors that could guide method selection or engineering. However, a thorough overview of contingency factors lacking. Remarkably, in information systems (IS) development research, a rich tradition of situational method engineering exists. IS development contingency factors have been studied and linked to engineering requirements for IS development methods. It is the objective of this paper to initiate a similar tradition for Situational Project Management Method Engineering. A first step needed is to develop a comprehensive list of project contingency factors. In this paper we built such a set of 28 project contingency factors. We elicited these factors from both theory and practice. We conducted a systematic literature review to analyze theories in both project management and IS literature. We obtained input from practice through semi-structured interviews with project managers. We merged the contingency factors found in theory and practice and described each factor using the literature surveyed and the interview data. Quotes from the interviews with project managers are given to illustrate the contingency factor and its impact on project management practices. Furthermore, we provide a comparison of the contingency factors found to the notion of critical success factors. The 28 contingency factors presented are grounded in practice and theory and provide a solid foundation for further research towards Situational Project Management Method Engineering

The Systematic Discovery of Services in Early Stages of Agile Developments: A Systematic Literature Review

In recent years, agile methodologies have been consolidated and extended in organizations that develop software in Web environments. For this reason, the development methodology of these organizations will not only be related to Services, but also to the Web Engineering paradigm. These organizations are heading for incorporating software development methodologies whose paradigm can allow integration, naturally and in the earlier stages of Web applications develop with the services of the organization that described and published in the Services Portfolio. The aim of this study will be to analyze the current state of the art in the process of discovering services in early stages of agile software development with focus on those identified requirements that could be covered with the services included in the Service Portfolio. We have identified 20 relevant papers through conducting a double systematic literature review (SLR). It is concluded that no study has been found that can solve the entire process of discovering candidate services within an organization that cover the requirements of a new application developed with agile methodologies. At the same time, guidelines have been found to formalize the solution to this problem and fill in that gap of knowledge by proposing in a single process, the formalization of a requirement based on agile techniques, which can be managed against a Services PortfolioMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2016-76956-C3-2-R (POLOLAS
