Different proposals that either grouping such different meanings (uncertainty) to provide one representation for all people or use multi-granular linguistic term sets with the semantics of each granularity, have been developed and applied in the specialized literature. Despite these models are quite useful they do not model individually yet the different meanings of each person when he/she elicits linguistic information. Hence, in this paper a personalized individual semantics (PIS) model is proposed to personalize individual semantics by means of an interval numerical scale and the 2-tuple linguistic model. Specifically, a consistency-driven optimization-based model to obtain and represent the PIS is introduced. A new CW framework based on the 2-tuple linguistic model is then defined, such a CW framework allows us to deal with PIS to facilitate CW keeping the idea that words mean different things to different people.     Distributed linguistic representations are powerful tools for modelling the uncertainty and complexity of preference information in linguistic decision making. To provide a comprehensive perspective on the development of distributed linguistic representations in decision making, we present the taxonomy of existing distributed linguistic representations. Then, we review the key elements and applications of distributed linguistic information processing in decision making, including the distance measurement, aggregation methods, distributed linguistic preference relations, and distributed linguistic multiple attribute decision making models.     An overview on managing additive consistency of reciprocal preference relations for consistency-driven decision making and Fusion: Taxonomy and future directions

In recent years, various types of RPRs have been reported and investigated, some of them being the ‘classical’ RPRs, interval-valued RPRs and hesitant RPRs. Additive consistency is one of the most commonly used property to measure the consistency of RPRs, with many methods developed to manage additive consistency of RPRs. To provide a clear perspective on additive consistency issues of RPRs, this paper reviews the consistency measurements of the different types of RPRs. Then, consistency-driven decision making and information fusion methods are also reviewed and classified into four main types: consistency improving methods; consistency-based methods to manage incomplete RPRs; consistency control in consensus decision making methods; and consistency-driven linguistic decision making methods. Finally, with respect to insights gained from prior researches, further directions for the research are proposed

    Consistency-driven methodology to manage incomplete linguistic preference relation: A perspective based on personalized individual semantics

However, when estimating unknown linguistic preference values in incomplete preference relations, the existing research approaches ignore the fact that words mean different things for different people, i.e. decision makers have personalized individual semantics (PISs) regarding words. To manage incomplete linguistic preference relations with PISs, in this paper we propose a consistency-driven methodology both to estimate the incomplete linguistic preference values and to obtain the personalized numerical meanings of linguistic values of the different decision makers. The proposed incomplete linguistic preference estimation method combines the characteristic of the personalized representation of decision makers and guarantees the optimum consistency of incomplete linguistic preference relations in the implementation process. Numerical examples and a comparative analysis are included to justify the feasibility of the PISs based incomplete linguistic preference estimation method

However, existing linguistic consistency studies omit the fact that words mean different things for different people, that is, decision makers' personalized individual semantics (PISs) over their expressed linguistic preferences are ignored. Therefore, the aim of this article is to propose a novel consistency improving approach based on PISs in linguistic group decision making. The proposed approach combines the characteristics of personalized representation and integrates the PIS-based model in measuring and improving the consistency of linguistic preference relations.     A Personalized Feedback Mechanism based on Bounded Confidence to Support Consensus Reaching in Group Decision Making

However, most feedback mechanisms do not consider the willingness of decision makers to accept these advices. In the opinion dynamics discipline, the bounded confidence model justifies well that in the process of interaction a decision maker only considers the preferences that do not exceed a certain confidence level compared to his own preference. Inspired by this idea, this article proposes a new consensus reaching model with personalized feedback mechanism to help decision makers with bounded confidences in achieving consensus. Specifically, the personalized feedback mechanism produces more acceptable advices in the two cases where bounded confidences are known or unknown, and the unknown ones are estimated by a learning algorithm. Finally, numerical example and simulation analysis are presented to explore the effectiveness of the proposed model in reaching consensus

    Classical Dynamic Consensus and Opinion Dynamics Models: A Survey of Recent Trends and Methodologies

The Publisher's final version can be found by following the DOI link.Consensus reaching is an iterative and dynamic process that supports group decision-making models by guiding decision-makers towards modifying their opinions through a feedback mechanism. Many attempts have been recently devoted to the design of efficient consensus reaching processes, especially when the dynamism is dependent on time, which aims to deal with opinion dynamics models. The emergence of novel methodologies in this field has been accelerated over recent years. In this regard, the present work is concerned with a systematic review of classical dynamic consensus and opinion dynamics models. The most recent trends of both models are identified and the developed methodologies are described in detail. Challenges of each model and open problems are discussed and worthwhile directions for future research are given. Our findings denote that due to technological advancements, a majority of recent literature works are concerned with the large-scale group decision-making models, where the interactions of decision-makers are enabled via social networks. Managing the behavior of decision-makers and consensus reaching with the minimum adjustment cost under social network analysis have been the top priorities for researchers in the design of classical consensus and opinion dynamics models

    Prioritization of the launch of ICT products and services through linguistic multi-criteria decision-making

    The market launch of new products and services is a basic pillar for large and medium-sized companies in the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) sector. Choosing the right moment for it is usually a differentiating factor in terms of competition, since it is a source of competitive advantage. There are several mechanisms and strategies to address this problem from the market perspective. However, the criteria of the different actors involved – managers, sales representatives, experts, etc. – coexist in the corporate sphere and they often differ, causing difficulties in priority setting processes in the launch of a product or service. The assessment of the prioritization of these criteria is usually expressed in natural language, thus adding a great deal of uncertainty. Fuzzy linguistic models have proved to be an efficient tool for managing the intrinsic uncertainty of this type of information. This paper presents a linguistic multi-criteria decision-making model, able to reconcile the different requirements and viewpoints existing in the corporate sector when planning the launch of new products and services. The proposed model is based on the fuzzy 2-tuple linguistic model, aimed at managing linguistic data expressing different corporate criteria, without compromising accuracy in the calculation of said data.
