Teleoperation control based on combination of wave variable and neural networks
In this paper, a novel control scheme is developed for a teleoperation system, combining the radial basis function (RBF) neural networks (NNs) and wave variable technique to simultaneously compensate for the effects caused by communication delays and dynamics uncertainties. The teleoperation system is set up with a TouchX joystick as the master device and a simulated Baxter robot arm as the slave robot. The haptic feedback is provided to the human operator to sense the interaction force between the slave robot and the environment when manipulating the stylus of the joystick. To utilize the workspace of the telerobot as much as possible, a matching process is carried out between the master and the slave based on their kinematics models. The closed loop inverse kinematics method and RBF NN approximation technique are seamlessly integrated in the control design. To overcome the potential instability problem in the presence of delayed communication channels, wave variables and their corrections are effectively embedded into the control system, and Lyapunov-based analysis is performed to theoretically establish the closed-loop stability. Comparative experiments have been conducted for a trajectory tracking task, under the different conditions of various communication delays. Experimental results show that in terms of tracking performance and force reflection, the proposed control approach shows superior performance over the conventional methods

A New Computed Torque Control System with an Uncertain RBF Neural Network Controller for a 7-DOF Robot
A novel percutaneous puncture robot system is proposed in the paper. Increasing the surgical equipment precision to reduce the patient\u27s pain and the doctor\u27s operation difficulty to treat smaller tumors can increase the success rate of surgery. To attain this goal, an optimized Computed Torque Law (CTL) using a radial basis function (RBF) neural network controller (RCTL) is proposed to improve the direction and position accuracy. BRF neural network with an uncertain term (URBF) which is able to compensate the system error caused by the imprecision of the model is added in the RCTL system. At first, a 7-DOF robotic system is established. It consists of robotic arm and actuator control channels. Now, the RBF compensator is added to the CTL to adjust the robot arm to reduce the position and direction errors. The angle and velocity errors of the robot arm are compensated using the RBF controller. According to the Lyapunov theory, the accuracy of torque control system depends on path tracking errors, inertia of robot, dynamic parameters and disturbance of each joint. Compared to general CTL approaches, the precision of a 7-DOF robot could be improved by adjusting the RBF parameters
Adaptive Control for Robotic Manipulators base on RBF Neural Network
An adaptive neural network controller is brought forward by the paper to solve trajectory tracking problems of robotic manipulators with uncertainties. The first scheme consists of a PD feedback and a dynamic compensator which is composed by neural network controller and variable structure controller. Neutral network controller is designed to adaptive learn and compensate the unknown uncertainties, variable structure controller is designed to eliminate approach errors of neutral network. The adaptive weight learning algorithm of neural network is designed to ensure online real-time adjustment, offline learning phase is not need; Global asymptotic stability (GAS) of system base on Lyapunov theory is analysised to ensure the convergence of the algorithm. The simulation results show that the kind of the control scheme is effective and has good robustness
Adaptive neural dynamic compensator for mobile robots in trajectory tracking control
In the present paper, it will be reported original results concerning the application of Neural Networks (NN) in mobile robot in trajectory tracking control. This work combines a feedback linearization based on a nominal model and an NN adaptive dynamic compensation. In mobile robot with uncertain dynamic parameters, two controllers are implemented separately: a kinematic controller and an inverse dynamic controller. The uncertainty in the nominal dynamic model is compensated by a neural adaptive feedback controller. The resulting adaptive controller is efficient and robust in the sense that it succeeds to achieve a good tracking performance with a small computational effort. The learning laws were deduced by Lyapunovs stability analysis. Finally, the performance of the control system is verified through experiments.Fil: Rossomando, Francisco Guido. Learning feedforward controller for a mobile robot vehicle
This paper describes the design and realisation of an on-line learning posetracking controller for a three-wheeled mobile robot vehicle. The controller consists of two components. The first is a constant-gain feedback component, designed on the basis of a second-order model. The second is a learning feedforward component, containing a single-layer neural network, that generates a control contribution on the basis of the desired trajectory of the vehicle. The neural network uses B-spline basis functions, enabling a computationally fast implementation and fast learning. The resulting control system is able to correct for errors due to parameter mismatches and classes of structural errors in the model used for the controller design. After sufficient learning, an existing static gain controller designed on the basis of an extensive model has been outperformed in terms of tracking accuracy
Dynamic Adaptive Control of Mobile Robot UsingRBF Networks
In this paper, an adaptive neuro-control systemwith two levels is proposed for the motion control of anonholonomic mobile robot. In the first level, a PD controller is designed to generate linear and angular velocities, necessary to tracka reference trajectory. In the second level, a neural network converts the desired velocities, provided by the first level, intoa torque control. The advantage of the control approach is that, no knowledge about the dynamic model is required, and no synaptic weight changing is needed in presence of robot’s parameter’s variation (mass or inertia).By introducing appropriate Lyapunovfunctions asymptotic stability of state variables and stability of system is guaranteed. The tracking performance of neural controller under disturbances is compared with PD controller. Sinusoidal trajectory and lamniscate trajectories are considered for this comparison
