In the field of digital watermarking, digital image watermarking for copyright protection has attracted a lot of attention in the research community. Digital watermarking contains varies techniques for protecting the digital content. Among all those techniques,Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) provides higher image imperceptibility and robustness. Over the years, researchers have been designing watermarking techniques with robustness in mind, in order for the watermark to be resistant against any image processing techniques. Furthermore, the requirements of a good watermarking technique includes a tradeoff between robustness, image quality (imperceptibility) and capacity. In this paper, we have done an extensive literature review for the existing DWT techniques and those combined with other techniques such as Neural Networks. In addition to that, we have discuss the contribution of Neural Networks in copyright protection. Finally we reached our goal in which we identified the research gaps existed in the current watermarking schemes. So that, it will be easily to obtain an optimal techniques to make the watermark object robust to attacks while maintaining the imperceptibility to enhance the copyright protection

Symmetry-adapted machine learning has shown encouraging ability to mitigate the security risks in information and communication technology (ICT) systems. It is a subset of artificial intelligence (AI) that relies on the principles of processing future events by learning past events or historical data. The autonomous nature of symmetry-adapted machine learning supports effective data processing and analysis for security detection in ICT systems without the interference of human authorities. Many industries are developing machine-learning-adapted solutions to support security for smart hardware, distributed computing, and the cloud. In our Special Issue book, we focus on the deployment of symmetry-adapted machine learning for information security in various application areas. This security approach can support effective methods to handle the dynamic nature of security attacks by extraction and analysis of data to identify hidden patterns of data. The main topics of this Issue include malware classification, an intrusion detection system, image watermarking, color image watermarking, battlefield target aggregation behavior recognition model, IP camera, Internet of Things (IoT) security, service function chain, indoor positioning system, and crypto-analysis

The importance of watermarking is dramatically enhanced due to the promising technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), Data analysis, and automation of identification in many sectors. Due to these reasons, systems are inter-connected through networking and internet and huge amounts of information is generated, distributed and transmitted over the World Wide Web. Thus authentication of the information is a challenging task. The algorithm developed for the watermarking needs to be robust against various attack such as salt & peppers, filtering, compression and cropping etc. This paper focuses on the robustness of the algorithm by using a hybrid approach of two transforms such as Contourlet, Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). Also, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is used to optimize the embedding strength factor. The proposed digital watermarking algorithm has been tested against common types of image attacks. Experiment results for the proposed algorithm gives better performance by using similarity metrics such as NCC (Normalized Cross Correlation value) and PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio)

In today's digital age, protecting the ownership of multimedia content has become a crucial issue. The widespread use of the internet and the ease of copying and distributing digital media have made it increasingly challenging to prevent unauthorized use and distribution. To address this problem, watermarking has emerged as an effective solution. Image watermarking refers to the process of embedding a unique identifier into an image in a way that it is imperceptible to the human eye but can be extracted to prove ownership. In this research, we propose an optimized image watermarking method based on Hessenberg Decomposition (HD) and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) in the Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT) domain. The proposed method utilizes the HD feature of the image to enhance the robustness of the watermark against attacks, while the SVD technique is used to achieve high invisibility and security. The IWT domain is employed to make the watermarking process more efficient, leading to a faster and more reliable watermarking algorithm. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we conducted several experiments using standard image datasets. The results show that the proposed method outperforms existing state-of-the-art watermarking methods in terms of robustness and invisibility. Additionally, the proposed method is resistant to various image processing attacks. In conclusion, the proposed optimized image watermarking method based on HD and SVD in the IWT domain offers a highly effective solution for protecting the ownership of multimedia content. The use of HD and SVD techniques in the IWT domain ensures high robustness, invisibility, and security of the watermark, while the computational efficiency of the method makes it practical for real-world applications

The digital watermarking technique, an effective way to protect image, has become the research focus on neural network. The purpose of this paper is to provide a brief study on broad theories and discuss the different types of neural networks for image watermarking. Most of the research interest image watermarking based on neural network in discrete wavelet transform or discrete cosine transform. Generally image watermarking based on neural network to solve the problem on to reduce the error, improve the rate of the learning, achieves goods imperceptibility and robustness. It will be useful for researches to implement effective image watermarking by using neural network

Reduced reference image and video quality assessments: review of methods

With the growing demand for image and video-based applications, the requirements of consistent quality assessment metrics of image and video have increased. Different approaches have been proposed in the literature to estimate the perceptual quality of images and videos. These approaches can be divided into three main categories; full reference (FR), reduced reference (RR) and no-reference (NR). In RR methods, instead of providing the original image or video as a reference, we need to provide certain features (i.e., texture, edges, etc.) of the original image or video for quality assessment. During the last decade, RR-based quality assessment has been a popular research area for a variety of applications such as social media, online games, and video streaming. In this paper, we present review and classification of the latest research work on RR-based image and video quality assessment. We have also summarized different databases used in the field of 2D and 3D image and video quality assessment. This paper would be helpful for specialists and researchers to stay well-informed about recent progress of RR-based image and video quality assessment. The review and classification presented in this paper will also be useful to gain understanding of multimedia quality assessment and state-of-the-art approaches used for the analysis. In addition, it will help the reader select appropriate quality assessment methods and parameters for their respective applications
