Early Market Entry Strategies for Commercialization of Digital Innovation in the Welfare Sector: A Case of Smart Nutritional Bottle âFitPotâ
This thesis embarks on a journey that began in May 2022, a semester before our thesis period, with the ideation stage of FitPot, a promising start-up aimed at revolutionizing hydration practices. This study examines the convergence of hydration, well-being, and technology through the innovative product design of FitPotâa technologically advanced water bottle that incorporates nutritional flavorsâwith the aim of helping FitPot validate its idea and advance toward the commercialization phase.
The research conducted in this thesis involves a comprehensive analysis of the market landscape, including competitor assessment and an exploration of consumer preferences. By employing both primary and secondary data collection methods, this study provides a thorough evaluation of FitPot's strengths and weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats present within the industry. The thesis encompasses a combination of face-to-face and online surveys, with a sample size of 89 and 214 respondents, respectively. The face-to-face surveys have been conducted in Stavanger, Oslo, Bergen, and Trondheim.
The investigation extends further to explore potential growth strategies and market positioning for FitPot, including collaborations with fitness influencers, expansion into new markets, diversification of product offerings, and integration with popular fitness and health-tracking apps. The research outcomes offer valuable insights into the dynamic nature of hydration and wellness, shedding light on the important role technology plays in enhancing consumer well-being.
The findings of this thesis not only provide strategic recommendations but also serve as a roadmap for FitPot's progression toward product commercialization and expansion. With the support of innovation studies, FitPot is equipped with the necessary insights and guidance to navigate the remaining stages of its journey. By adopting these proposed suggestions, FitPot can effectively move towards a successful market launch, capturing significant market share and maximizing its potential for long-term success.

University College, in the capacity of grant-making and grant management.
In 2015, the Office partnered with the Ford Foundation to create a fund that provides financial
support to students, staff and faculty in pursuing civic engagement projects. This fund ran for
two years, culminating in 2017. The Office hopes that this is the first of many such partnerships
in the future. Therefore, to enhance the efficiency of the office in grant management, this project
evaluated how the operations of the fund were administered. And per the results of that
evaluation, as well as to better realign The Office of Civic Engagementâs overarching strategic
objectives with actual initiatives and measures, the Balanced Scorecard was recommended as the
best tool for remedying its challenges in the first round of grant management, and moving
forward, for better streamlining the operations of the organization to guarantee better efficiency.
As the Balanced Scorecard is a strategic planning and performance measurement tool, the paper
recommends that it is permanently assimilated into the administration of the office, so as to

Facebook and print magazines: A Study on the benefits of single- and cross-media advertising
Research regarding the utilization of Facebook as a marketing communication tool and effectiveness of cross-media advertising are vital as Facebook continues its eminent growth as a communication phenomenon and marketers look for enhanced ways to increase ad effectiveness. Drawing on extant website research (Schlosser & Kanfer, 1996; Kanso, Nelson & LeBlanc, 2005), this study examines the extent that marketers leverage the potential benefits of Facebook (data collection, mass collaboration, relationship and brand management, networking, global accessibility) and extent of integration between Facebook and print magazine ads. Content analysis results suggest that marketers are not equally and fully utilizing all benefits. Findings also reveal correlation between product category and utilization of benefit and lack of integration between print ads and Facebook

Framework for Security Transparency in Cloud Computing
The migration of sensitive data and applications from the on-premise data centre to a cloud environment increases cyber risks to users, mainly because the cloud environment is managed and maintained by a third-party. In particular, the partial surrender of sensitive data and application to a cloud environment creates numerous concerns that are related to a lack of security transparency. Security transparency involves the disclosure of information by cloud service providers about the security measures being put in place to protect assets and meet the expectations of customers. It establishes trust in service relationship between cloud service providers and customers, and without evidence of continuous transparency, trust and confidence are affected and are likely to hinder extensive usage of cloud services. Also, insufficient security transparency is considered as an added level of risk and increases the difficulty of demonstrating conformance to customer requirements and ensuring that the cloud service providers adequately implement security obligations.
The research community have acknowledged the pressing need to address security transparency concerns, and although technical aspects for ensuring security and privacy have been researched widely, the focus on security transparency is still scarce. The relatively few literature mostly approach the issue of security transparency from cloud providersâ perspective, while other works have contributed feasible techniques for comparison and selection of cloud service providers using metrics such as transparency and trustworthiness. However, there is still a shortage of research that focuses on improving security transparency from cloud usersâ point of view. In particular, there is still a gap in the literature that (i) dissects security transparency from the lens of conceptual knowledge up to implementation from organizational and technical perspectives and; (ii) support continuous transparency by enabling the vetting and probing of cloud service providersâ conformity to specific customer requirements. The significant growth in moving business to the cloud â due to its scalability and perceived effectiveness â underlines the dire need for research in this area.
This thesis presents a framework that comprises the core conceptual elements that constitute security transparency in cloud computing. It contributes to the knowledge domain of security transparency in cloud computing by proposing the following. Firstly, the research analyses the basics of cloud security transparency by exploring the notion and foundational concepts that constitute security transparency. Secondly, it proposes a framework which integrates various concepts from requirement engineering domain and an accompanying process that could be followed to implement the framework. The framework and its process provide an essential set of conceptual ideas, activities and steps that can be followed at an organizational level to attain security transparency, which are based on the principles of industry standards and best practices. Thirdly, for ensuring continuous transparency, the thesis proposes an essential tool that supports the collection and assessment of evidence from cloud providers, including the establishment of remedial actions for redressing deficiencies in cloud provider practices. The Duties of Online Marketplaces
Is Amazon a seller for the purpose of product liability law? Is it obligated to stop price gouging by its sellers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic? Is Airbnb responsible for discrimination practiced by its users? These legal issues are discussed separately, and courts are typically divided into two camps. Some courts force platforms into unfitting categories such as a seller, a hotel chain, or an employer in order to establish liability; others exempt platforms from liability altogether. This Article argues we need to think of these legal duties holistically, and suggests a new legal category: the market-constituting platform. Certain online platforms constitute a market: they create the infrastructure for the activity, the mechanism for closing a deal, the code of acceptable behavior, and the rules of participation in this activity. The challenge to legal thought and practice is to properly conceptualize the legal role of market-constituting actors and the duties that this role entails.
