COMPETITION BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT (KM) AND MARKETING

    Get PDF
Knowledge management has become, in recent years, a starting point for those that deal with business strategies, providing the opportunity to achieve competitive advantage and a great long-term increase of the organizational efficiency. The formation of a knowledge strategy appropriate to the economic realities enables organizations, whatever their nature, not only to survive but also in their future development. On a practical level it can be said that knowledge management works like an organization inside the other organizations. The competitiveness of implementation of the knowledge management and marketing strategy is currently, and in the future, one of the viable ways by which the maximum efficiency can mobilize resources in order to meet the full needs of individuals, communities and of the whole society. This approach may be a modern solution of knowledge and prevention of economic risk under its various forms, but also a performance guarantee in an activity. The purpose of this approach is to present a number of characteristics in a synthetic manner of knowledge management, bringing attention to the concept of adaptive management and the influences and intersections that are found in relation to the marketing process in the organizational environment.knowledge management, adaptive management, information, marketing implementation, dissemination, collaborative education, organizational environment

Strategy as Learning: Capturing Emerging Knowledge

    Get PDF
The process of strategy making presents a multi-faceted debate, with the ‘Learning School’ of strategic management being one of the main approaches to conceptualise strategy formation. This approach suggests that strategy making is a process of emergent learning over time, where strategy makers critically reflect on past experience, experiment in new competitive conditions and adapt their strategies accordingly. The premises of the Learning School are similar to the premises of action learning, and yet, the action learning paradigm appears to have made little or no impact in strategic management literature and practice. This paper proposes that implementing an action learning methodology into the process of strategy making could make an important contribution to strategy makers by capturing, harnessing and developing organizational learning and knowledge

Assessment of Farmers’ Plant Disease Knowledge in Organic Cacao Cultivation

The Alto Beni region on the eastern foothills of the Andes accounts for 90% of certified organic cacao production in Bolivia and other tropical products for the city of La Paz. In the region more than 2200 households strongly depend on the cultivation of cacao. Cacao is cultivated on small holder farms mostly in diversified agroforestry systems. These systems contribute to both the conservation of biodiversity and the food security of the farmers. An outbreak of the frosty pod disease caused by Moniliophthora roreri in 2011 is now threatening these relatively sustainable production systems. Examples all over Latin America showed the abandonment and elimination of cocoa systems and the loss of biodiversity and local revenues after its attack. Frosty pod rot is an extremely invasive and destructive disease causing yield losses of 30–80% after establishment in a region. An efficient and applicable disease management strategy should address both, ecologic and socioeconomic conditions of the entire agro-ecological system. Scientific knowledge must therefore be complemented with the local farmers’ knowledge in general and especially their local knowledge on disease management. The aim of this qualitative study was to gather farmers’ local disease knowledge to building a fundament for the participatory development of a disease management strategy. Data was collected by combined 24 in depth interviews with on-farm field visits. We found that there is a certain lack of ecosystem knowledge among the ethnically diverse farmers group, which might be due to the recent colonisation of the area. Cacao cultivation knowledge is present on a basic level but is unequally distributed and the level of performance of disease prevention and control practices lags behind their level of awareness. It was also found that the process of knowledge formation is ongoing and co-evolving with the active adaptation of the cultivation system. Most sustainable practices related to an additional labour input are strictly challenged by the lack of skilled labour and the migration out of the region into the bigger cities. These constraints should be considered when designing an efficient disease management strategy

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES AS INTERMEDIARY VARIABLES BETWEEN ITBUSINESS STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT AND FIRM PERFORMANCE

Since the relationship between knowledge management and ITbusiness strategic alignment should be investigated further, highlighting the importance of knowledge (both tacit and explicit) in the formation and implementation of IT strategy; this research aims to review and discuss the links between data, information, and knowledge; how researchers classify knowledge; the ways that firms could manage their knowledge and systems; the difficulties and challenges that firms might face when implementing knowledge management systems, and the ways in which managers should resolve such challenges; and empirical research on the linkage between knowledge management strategies and firm performance. Consequently, further research is needed to validate the ways researchers measure the associations among IT-business strategic alignment, knowledge management, and firm performance in both developed and developing countries and across different industries

The implementation of the strategy is not only about the benefits but also the performance of the organization. Organizational performance is one of the successes in market business competition. Company management implements strategies that can develop organizational performance by developing supporting aspects such as TQM and knowledge management. This research was conducted to determine the formation of organizational performance from TQM and knowledge management. This research was conducted at a company in Sidoarjo which is engaged in the manufacture of animal feed. The respondents obtained were employees from different divisions who were randomly selected except for the security and cleanliness division. In this study used a sample of 120 respondents. The data used will be analyzed using multiple linear regression. After processing the data, the results showed that there was a significant influence given by TQM on organizational performance. Data processing also proves that organizational performance is formed because of the significant influence given by knowledge management. Research also proves that TQM and knowledge management have an effect on the ups and downs of organizational performance together

Learning from the Ministry of Finance Corporate University utilizes the Ministry of Finance Learning Center as a Knowledge Management. This paper wants to know and analyze how Knowledge Management is implemented in the Ministry of Finance Learning Center. The method used is qualitative with inductive logic analysis. The results of the study indicate that it is implemented using the internet. The formation of knowledge sharing habits has been implemented, but there are still many learning videos with few viewers, it should be made based on the eyes of the training in the Pusdiklat or subjects in PKN STAN. The making of learning videos is still dominated by Widyaiswara, officials or employees of the Directorate General of Taxes as very little Group Owner Skills, so rules need to be made that require officials or employees of the Directorate General of Tax to make learning videos based on best practice and tacit knowledge. Knowledge Management regulation umbrella is the Regulation of the Head of the Financial Education and Training Agency and Minister of Finance Regulation. The Knowledge Management strategy in the Ministry of Finance Learning Center is aligned with the Ministry of Finance's change management strategy because it is one of the central themes of the strategic initiative of the Ministry of Finance's bureaucratic reform program and institutional transformation. Keywords: Corporate University, Knowledge Management, Skill Group Owner.Abstra

Human Resources Professional Development within the Knowledge-Based Economy Organizations

Through the present paper, we identified and argumented one of the most important consequences of the present business environment: appearance and, gradually, growth of differences between two categories of representants: human resources with high formation, strongly connected to the environment, who impose and even anticipate change, being fascinated by the development perspectives, unlike people always surprised by what is happening, sometimes lost by the predicable absence, having a continuous “fight” for keeping the other’s rhythm. The solution is represented by motivation and formation programs, on medium and long term in order to offer sustainable results. Consequently, from the organization management point of view, the most appropriate instrument for accomplishing and implementing this is the strategy, as an exponent of organization mission and objectives, in correlation with human resources, technical and material resources, financial and informational resources restrictions, and, moreover, the actions ways for accomplishing the competitive advantage.Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), human resources, professional development, motivation, economic performances, knowledge-based economy.
