Advances in cardiovascular research. 15th Annual Meeting of the European Council for Cardiovascular Research (ECCR). La Colle sur Loup, France, 8-10 October 2010

The 15th Annual Meeting of the European Council of Cardiovascular Research brought together basic and clinical scientists working in the cardiovascular field in La Colle sur Loup, France. Upfront basic and clinical research addressing the mechanisms of disease, identification of biomarkers or development of new treatments was communicated in 101 presentations, 35 of them as a part of five on-topic oral sessions and three workshops. Three keynote lectures reviewed current knowledge and the latest data about mechanosensitive channels in pressure regulation, cell therapy in cardiovascular disease and mechanisms of cardiovascular risk associated with diabetic nephropathy. Welcome to the Supplementum issue of the International Journal of Homiletics. The articles in this volume are edited, peer-reviewed versions of keynote lectures and papers1 presented at the Societas Homiletica Conference on August 3rd – 8th 2018, at The Divinity School of Duke University, North Carolina, USA. The theme of the conference was “Fearing God in a Fear-Filled World? This meeting report gives an overview of the keynote lectures, the panel discussion and a selection of the contributed presentations. The workshop was held in Gent, Belgium on May 10-11. It featured a tutorial aimed towards a broad audience of (computational) biologists, (computational) linguists and researchers working purely on text mining

Globalisation: Recent traits and challenges

This special issue gathers together twelve papers that revisit a range of core topics in the field of international economics. These papers were presented at the XIX Conference on International Economics (CIE) held in Vila‐Real (Spain) on 28th–29th June 2018. The Conference was co‐organized by researchers from the Spanish Association of International Economics and Finance (AEEFI) and the Institute of International Economics (IEI). The selected papers are stimulating pieces that shed new light on recent trends in globalization as well as some of the main challenges that need to be faced in the presence of the multiple yield curves that emerged after the credit crunch. Folds in Time: Artists' Responses to the Temporal and the Uncanny. An international conference, convened by Brass Art in association with the Freud Museum London, as part of the Festival of the Unconscious 2015.

This conference brings together artists, curators and writers to examine the ways artists harness aspects of the uncanny and the unconscious in their navigation of physical and imagined spaces. Built around artists’ practices which have responded to the repressed, the unthought or the untold, and which employ fractured, dream-like or metamorphic narratives; the conference will mix keynote addresses with artist-in-conversations.
